Do you want to experience some serious oldschool anime production tranwreck, an absolute faulures of anime? If yes, check those two infamous titles.

Do you like trainwrecks? Do you like complete visual failures of anime? Unintentional comedies with stiff and unconvincing artwork? If so, check out Chargeman Ken and My Sister, My Writer! These two fail spectacularly in some hilarious ways to the point where it's better to go into both anime blind. They even fail to even tell a cohesive story. Also, both anime fail to reach their intended target audience. I even included both on my So Bad It's Good anime stack.

Both anime are about a boy who's a hero and saves the day in a futuristic world. They are also both retro anime. The difference between Astro Boy and Chargeman Ken are: - Astro Boy is a robot with emotions and Chargeman Ken is just some kid with powers that comes out of nowhere - Astro Boy shows mercy on his enemies while Chargeman Ken doesn't - Astro Boy is clearly a better anime than Chargeman Ken

Both anime are amazing "so bad it's good" anime that will leave you absolutely baffled by some of the absurd shit that happens. In the case of Chargeman Ken, this is a result of poor production quality, while Cipher's enjoyability comes from the laughable voice acting and absence of any discernable plot, (it's more like a montage of music video adaptations of manga scenes) but they both provide an equal amount of enjoyment of you want to just sit back and laugh at something.

Chargeman Ken is basically Inferno Cop if it was made in the 70s and was unintentionally bad. Both are short episodes that consist of nonsense plots involving some non-specific evil entity and a protagonist whose internal logic is sometimes impossible to comprehend. Chargeman Ken is not a continuous story like Inferno Cop, so you can basically pull up any random episode, laugh at the limited animation, shoddy production, and confusing narrative, and 8 minutes later you're good.

They are both...unique, in a sense. They share the same nonsensical plotlines and a rather interasting take on the word "animation" as in "standing still while moving the background"

Chargeman Ken is the Mars of Destruction of the 1970's. Both titles have limited animation, bad writing and random scenes that makes you go WTF at different times. Both titles also take place in the future and involve the main protagonist who have to fight aliens from destroying humanity. If you like one, you will enjoy the other.
