What's a guy to do when his life suddenly changes while innocently enjoying a nice, cold drink after work? And I mean really changes. This middle-aged commoner now finds himself in the body of Liam Hamilton, the young son of a noble house teetering on the brink of collapse. I honestly don't understand the other reviews.

So I start with them: yep, they are correct. Harem (for no reason), good shoes MC (you know, the pushover "virgin loser" personality, who, in adult games, gets NTR exactly because he "needs to look away and flee" if a woman hints that she has sexual-related desires towards him, even if in relationship), everyone looks like MC best friend with woman being hot, cute or sexy, and male being hunks and other stereotype, and of course, all are the most kind, friendly, caring, loyal, bla bla bla bla because they are serving MC, while anyone who is against is ... cunning, scared, arrogant, offended that MC exist, or are supporting MC for no reason other then MC privilege.

So yeah, I fully understand why so many people gave a bad review and low score.

So what does my score reflect? Magic. Yes, this is something I don't see the reviews talking about (and no, I did not waste my time reading every last one of them).

Did you ever get hooked on an anime because of the MC's passion for something? Well, this is exactly why I gave this score. You learn a lot about possibilities regarding magic, including how to use them. To rephrase it, if magic was real, this would be one of those anime people would recommend as "learning material," even if the rest of the story... you know, like the Matrix trilogy (btw, there is also a fourth one, but it's more of a parody).

So for this, I gave such a high score, exactly because the anime was focused on magic as passion.

Mixed Feelings

This is Isekai paint by numbers, 8th son meets 7th prince, meets Tensura, stick them in a blender and this is what you get
There is nothing new or unique here, there is nothing special about this, it is just the most average isekai slop going

Now I love Isekai trash, and as isekai trash this has some merit as it is enjoyable to watch, but that doesn't mean I won't hammer it for its flaws.

To be clear none of the following is spoilers as its all in the PVs and the Image for the anime

So to copy 8th son, we have the youngest child of a ... Noble family in decline which is impoverished (or in this case, about to be) and only the eldest stands to inherit, meaning our isekai protag will have nothing and needs to find a way to make a living, chooses to turn to magic, and to adventuring, this changes the MC's fortunes (literally) gaining wealth, prestige and eventually land to develop, oh and also he's on good terms with most of his brothers except his eldest who resents him.

To copy Tensura, MC encounters a dragon, who he befriends / absorbs / makes a pact with, MC encounters monsters who serve MC and get massive power-ups and change forms after MC names them, MC builds a town / nation

To copy 7th prince, MC is obsessed with magic to the point MC often ignores everything else, MC is obsessed with how magic works and invents new spells, MC creates new magic weapons because he can, MC becomes the most powerful mage

Yeah that is how bad it is with the copy paste story, when I said Isekai pant by numbers I wasn't joking.
Does an anime need to be 100% original? No, but it either needs a good hook, or a good twist / gimmick and it needs to be well written and do what it does well, this does none of that, there is no hook, there is no twist / gimmick, and the writing lacks effort.

The pacing is bad, it is all over the place, it forgets characters, forgets plot points, forgets what it is up to, this is some of the worst writing I've seen since SAO, but without any of the potential that had, and fortunately no NTR in sight.
The characters are forgettable, so much so even the MC seems to forget about them

Things I liked
The nation / city building aspects are fine, just overlook some plot holes and it's not terrible
The exploration of magic is pretty good
It is mindless fun, its enjoyable in its flawed way

The animation is standard, the OST is standard, there was nothing terrible in the animation, the character designs are again, standard, there is nothing special here

The reality is, there are much better anime that do all of this to a much better degree
As an anime, I can't in good conscience recommend this, but as a mindless 'isekai trash' anime, it's alright, it passes the time, its a bit of fun, there are definitely worse out there.

I Watched It So You Don't Have To.

Overall, it's just a bad anime. The visuals are bad. Minimal animation, bad backgrounds, characters are low detailed. The sound is also generic. The plot here is a copy of "That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime". Only worse. It's a cheap, lazy imitation. Same dragon, same building a city, same making a bunch of servants and familiars. Even Rimuru's stuffy office meetings look more intense than this. Mc-kun does everything with no sweat and no effort. There's not an ounce of suspense in any of the fights. There's no spectacle either. There's just nothing to see. ... One explosion from "Konosuba" is more colorful than the whole anime. Furthermore, the plot is logically flawed and contradictory. Starting with the fact that mc-kun kills the dragon's children and the dragon is happy about it. And what is the teacher of magic, that told all in a few hours to such a genius mc-kun, showed, gave ancient grimoire. And all this after he has seen the boy for the first time in his life. This anime also tries to parasitize on the ideas of others by copying content. Wolfgirl is very similar to Delta from "The Eminence in Shadow" in her behavior. There's harem-ish, but AIs are generating more interesting characters these days. It all looks like a hastily made potboiler, just for show. No idea, no execution.

This is a bad anime. I don't recommend watching it. There are a ton of better titles than this. There's nothing to see here.
