SK∞

Both have two strong male leads, one of whom is from another country, and a colorful cast of supporting characters. Also, both involve a skating sport.  

Sk8 the infinity honestly feels like condensed Haikyuu. They have extremely similar vibes and tones and the characters are also alike. They're both sports anime and lay the themes of friendship and hard work on pretty thick. If you liked one of these shows, you'll probably like the other. 

Good-looking characters that compete in a sport. Their friendship is very heartwarming and makes the story more captivating. The characters all have a lot of chemistry with each other! 

I'm surprised that no one has made connections between these two shows! Both directed by Hiroko Utsumi (who also directed Free!), both shows have two male protagonists that share instant connections and strong emotional bonds, holding dynamic personalities with each other and the people around them. Yet their strong bonds are put to the test with internal and external forces that makes us root for the success of our lovable duos. With a good balance between their comedy and drama, it's enough for all of us watchers to share the joys and pains alongside our favorite characters.  

Take Initial D, swap the sport from mountain pass car racing (touge) to skateboarding and add plenty of flamboyance! Both feature a stoic main character who appears to be a beginner not knowing the technical details of the sport (Takumi in Initial D, Langa in Sk8) but once they are pitted against well-regarded opponents they make unexpected victories. With the sports they do, the characters use intricacies of their racecourse to gain advantages (guardrails, gutters etc. in initial D, handrails, even trees in Sk8), there are very specific moments in Sk8 that feel like direct references to Initial D, particularly Langa's dangerous technique the first episode of Sk8). Inertia drifting is featured a couple of times in Sk8 as well. Furthermore, when Takumi and Langa aren't racing, they have friends obsessed with their sport to teach them (and us, the audience) about tuning their vehicles and many real world details about the sport. I'm so surprised that no one has made a link between these two. -Both of MCs have fantastic chemistry -One is music themed and one is sports themed but both MCs have a dynamic of one teaching the other the craft -Both anime have AMAZING music (unskippable OP and EDs LITERALLY not kidding) -similar side character/group dynamics of slightly older characters (in their 20s) looking out for the younger characters and guiding and supporting them in crucial moments -colours and animation in both are spectacular -funny and feelsy just the right amount -both also touch on deeper themes of love and loss and gaining passion for life  read more 

Both shows have good-looking characters that wanna reach their goals in their sport/business. The friendships relationships in both animes are very heartwarming. There's humor but also epic moments, is gonna be a nice ride. 

Watching Sk8 reminded me a lot of Air Gear. Over-the-top moves and battles, underground skate battles, Sk8 makes me nostalgic. Even the aesthetics are somewhat similar since they have similar themes. One has fanservice with girls and the other with guys. 

In both animes the MC make friend with somebody that is naturally good at the sport (skate or surf) which leads to a good sport friendship. Both anime have some sort of competition with various protagonists.  

Taking grounded sports (skateboarding in SK8, golf in Birdie Wing) and exaggerating them to extremes. Both in the athletic feats the characters accomplish and the background surrounding the sport; illegal underground (as in exclusive) courses, tournaments at night, gambling and general seediness. 

Both have/are: - anime originals - tons of ikemen - stylish character design - underground competitions - fast-paced - bright, loud, crazy, funky vibes 

both are focused on friendship and both share, lots of stylish visuals and art as well too. 

In which one of the main characters falls in love with a sport they didn't previously know about. Futaba in Bakuten!! and Langa in SK8, they are doe-eyed and smitten with these new oppurtunies (and by their new friend). Both also have a tag-along cast of eccentric and unique supporting characters that make the show feel complete. Same feel-good vibe. (Both make me nostalgic for some reason, even though they are both very new anime).  

both are focused on friendship and both share, lots of stylish visuals and art as well too as well as lot of fast paced moments as well too. 

The dub for both of these have a very similar vibe, the chaotic nature of the characters and the humor is very endearing to see 👀  

Both are heavily influenced by rap and Japanese streetwear/street culture. They also have colorful characters and feature characters in a unique type of battle. These battles take place in an underground setting that only characters who are worthy have access to.

I just get similar feel vibes Both sports anime that give you the general want to try the sport Both have fun/good characters - SK∞ has better dynamics as a whole but stride has good core three  

Yet another great sport themed anime. I have high hoped for the anime to have a great story just like Sk8’s. 

The animes are about an MC that gets interested in a sport they have no clue about and decided to give it a try, learning techniques from friends they learn that they have a natural talent for this sport. Throughout the show, they join competitions and everybody gets surprised by how good they are for being a newbie. 

Both have pretty boys with trendy outfits as (most of) the main cast. Bright and vibrant visuals with both of them having similar vibes. 

Comedy and Colourings and similar aspect in the anime  

Both feature redheads who are mechanics. Both shows can also be described as "Campy" 

They both have the feel of a great group of friends having their ups and downs. Just like normal group friends would have in real life. 

Promised Neverland is a great show for the strategy, and there are plenty of popular show recommendations out there, but a big part of the strategy with Promised Neverland were the stakes and what was on the line. Finding a good show with stakes besides lives on the line(really cliche). Sk8 has plenty of stakes, and a villain that made me visibly uncomfortable(preferred English for this), the stakes aren't lives but still compelling. The friendships in both shows are everything and especially sk8 there is a scene with all the friends and a specific song whenever I hear it makes me want to skateboard even though I have zero balance skills and have amazing friendships like that. Both are well written bromances with attractive main characters and cute side characters. Focus is on character relationships in both anime, but Vanitas no Karte does have a pretty cool backstory and plot!  

Even though one is clarified a BL and the other is just head cannon, both give the same, pleasant vibe and a feel-good series/movie. 

Hi, I'd like to suggest this anime. Minato Hinageshi considers his lover Hinako his personal heroine for saving him as a child. She is an excellent surfer, and he tries to learn the sport out of respect and love for her. This leads to tragedy when he catches a wave alone one day during a winter storm because he wanted to surprise Hinako and wow her. As a result, Hinako is unable to surf and acutely experiences the loss of a loved one. In SK8, Langa thinks Reki is an amazing skater, especially after seeing his extreme skating in the second episode (in photos and video). He tries to become just as cool and extreme, and it almost leads to tragedy. Because overly enthusiastic about dangerous racing, Langa is left unattended by Reki. And Reki, amazed by Langa's sudden success, doesn't realize he's being imitated, and in desperation almost quits skateboarding. In the end, in both anime Hinako and Reki have to overpower themselves and return to their favorite sport for the sake of the people they care about. read more 

Both have a firey red headed protagnist and calm and cool blue haired character. Both animes include pretty boys who love what they do but try so hard to compete with blue haired character who simply has natural talent. Which almost stops them doing what they love but not quite. 

Not a sports anime but a music anime, the characters relationships and how it effects their hobby as skater/musicians.  

This is very similar if not better than burning kabaddi. It is very funny and has a lot of high paced action. The show is very funny and has a great plot. It has a rating of 8.02 and it is definitely worth the watch. Try the first episode for yourself and you will see that it is really good. I rate this a 9/10 it was really good and the character design is really good. P.S (Watch Vinland saga its the best anime ever) 

I kept thinking of Kekkai Sensen while watching this! Something about the: - feeling of finding some goal - goofball cast 

Same energy of JP seiyuus, as well as similar kind of cartoony, but also "whooshy" motion. Main characters are both redheads who believe the most important thing to mastering their craft is having fun and going all the way. Jin and Reki are both a little bit of an airhead, but they've got the right spirit. Their comedic, but competitive side both really shine through with their somewhat serious/stoic counterpart. Definitely both resonate with the same general colourful energy and are both light, low priority, but fairly exciting watches. 

Both anime revolve around a group of protagonists, each with their own distinct personalities and issues, but all of them connected by the same sport (skating vs ping pong). Through practicing said sport and competing against each other in a tournament, their perspectives on life change and they evolve as people, which is something that both anime are quite good at depicting. 

Cute and bright art/aesthetic Friendship and Bromance Both are comedic and have similar character types  

Anime don't necessarily have to have similar plots or characters to be similar. The similarities between these 2 are heavy themes- SK8 has street skating, graffiti, hip-hop, bright colour palette to create an impression on the viewers while Megalo Box uses Underground boxing, futuristic themes in an old animation style for the same effect. Plot wise, both are based on sports and some amount of friendship/rivalry If you are a fan of either anime for its direction/art/aesthetic you should consider checking out the other 

Both these anime have bright, vivid colours with elements of magical realism and move quickly through their stories. Both feature issues with the interpersonal relationships between the leading group of guys. There is a lot of bl subtext (or just text in the case of Sarazanmai). Both can be quite silly at times, though Sarazanmai has more of a magical universe and SK8 is more realistic. Both are lots of fun and fast-paced. 

Both animes are set during the summertime of the year. They both give off the same vibes in terms of excitement of what will happen in the future, very beachy hot day vibes, and all of the music is very upbeat, mysterious, and hopeful. The animation both uses very bright colors and beautiful scenery. You will feel free and fuzzy watching these 

They both have a very similar vibe to them, there are characters that are slightly sadistic and the humor is quite similar. Both MCs slowly open up to each other alot more and are able to be honest with each other The music in both are quite good!  

Both same with last episode related to the last call between girl and boy to his friends asking for help when the enemy as second time in the battle and also towards the finish line during the skateboard race.Then,both same scream out loud together just one people for supported 

Both are comedic sports anime with a very similar dynamic between the two main characters—Kuroko & Langa are both nonchalant while Taiga & Reki are hotheaded. Even their colors match! Kuroko & Langa also both hold unconventional special abilities in their respective fields. Main difference is that Kuroko has a stronger focus on teamwork of a broad cast of characters (Kuroko, Taiga, and their classmates/peers support each other to overcome obstacles), while SK focuses more on only the two main characters (Langa largely takes up the spotlight and Reki supports as Langa's trainer & "mechanic"). Set up is also similar in that main characters in both anime gradually begin to go up against more intimidating opponents and also learn more about character/setting history as the series progresses. There are also many other niche similarities such as Langa having Taiga's appetite. read more 

Both anime feature the development of a deep friendship between two men, that get to know each other through the challenges they face, that kind of relationship that makes them go the extra mile for each others. Sk8 does not have the drama mystery genre, feature case solving, which made me a bit hesitant to recommend it at first, but the connection and dynamic between the main characters are in the similar realm for those who are looking for that male-friend-could-be-romance-if-you-want-to-interpent-it-that-way style - I think it's worth a watch :) 

If you like the vibes between Langa Riki and ADAM then you'll like the vibes between Gon Killua and Hisoka. This anime gives off a battle vibe between Gon and Hisoka much like Langa and ADAM have. Also ADAM and Hisoka definitely give off that possessive "nobody can have him but me vibe." The friendship aspect is there as well Gon and Killua have a similar friendship as Langa and Riki. Where Riki and Killua have been doing things longer but Langa and Gon just have that natural ability and Riki and Killua don't want to be left behind while at the same time keep their friend from doing something reckless. Where SK8 is more Slice of life HxH is more adventure based. Both have some comedy in it and characters who are developing with every challenge they face. If you like SK8 then you'll love HxH read more 

Both are sports anime about self-improvement with an almost all-male cast and strong focus on the relationship between male characters, as well as having a cast of characters with different backgrounds. There is particular focus on the main friendship between the leads. SK8 is more stylish with flair and Tsurune is more focused on traditional Japanese culture. If you like one, you will likely enjoy the other! 

both are focused on friendship and and lots of nice to look at art and visuals as well too and are also focused on a particular rival game against each other as well too. 

Both shows revolve around a Red haired boy who one day meets a boy from another part of the world (outer space (Tsuritama) / Canada (SK8)) while they teach each other a new sport while fighting their inner demons. While also taking place in a tropical Japan setting.
