Skate-Leading☆Stars

Anime about ice-skating that might be perhaps too much focused on its bishounen characters - depending on your point of view. YoI goes more into relationship while Skate-Leading Stars contents itself with just presenting the pretty characters. 

If you liked Free, i'm absolutely sure that you'll love this anime. The characters aren't similar, but the vibe and feel of the show is. A bunch of pretty boys, training to do what they love. (Reminds me of yet ANOTHER show). Oh and this is one of the only animes where all of the characters look both female and male at the same time.  

Both have a firey red headed protagnist and calm and cool blue haired character. Both animes include pretty boys who love what they do but try so hard to compete with blue haired character who simply has natural talent. Which almost stops them doing what they love but not quite. 

Both are sports anime. Both have a similar premise. The mc is a talented athlete (able to do well in all sports) but won't participate or help in 1 specific sport because of their past with the sport. Both, quit their sport because of someone else who was more talented. They rejoin the sport because of a new friend and challenge their rival from the past. Both anime are team sports. 

Both are sports anime centred around a group of boys competing as a team in a sport that are usually seen as being more 'feminine'. In Cheer Danshi, the sport is cheer, and in Skate-Leading Stars, although the actual sport is made up, figure skating as a sport is often seen as being female-dominated. There are also a few similar characters in the shows such, such as Mizoguchi from Cheer Danshi and Kiriyama from Skate-Leading Stars, and, overall, the shows just have similar vibes. If you liked one, you'll probably like the other. 

Really similar cute boys doing sports show - but in both shows only the core cast is interesting. If you want another easy to digest show this is it :) 

Team sport with cast full of bishounen characters with different colored hair, token personalities and fanservice shots.
