The two anime are very similar in atmosphere. Both are set in small towns that are surrounded by mountains, giving off unsettling vibes. Both shows make heavy use of rotoscoping which makes them feel different from other anime. Both have minimalist soundtracks that accentuate the eerie feeling.

"Uzumaki" is like "Parasite" and "Berserk" having a child! The same insane human slaughter and transformations.

They are both horror show with a typical supernatural plot. The characters are great and the atmosphere are both stressful.

"Uzumaki" is like "Berserk" and "Parasite" having a child! The same darkness and cruelty.

Both are anime that attempt being horror but due to their terrible animation quality they end up being unvoluntarily funny. Either way, both have merit for at least trying and could be blamed for being a bad adaptation. Watch them if you want to have a laugh and maybe get disturbed.

They are both newer Junji Itou anime, that follow some of his classic stories.

Nightmarish CGI ventures (for better and for worse) about alternative apocalypses befalling mankind, both find themselves experimenting with strange structure and pacing
