Both were made by Polygon Pictures and have the same 3D-CGI art style and animation. Art is similar to the point were its the same off white color theme with very similar wear and tear textures. Both have Mecha and have monsters threatening the human race where the human race have left earth. If you like Mecha, 3D-CGI, Polygon Pictures, and or fights that will determine the fate of humanity then both are good pick ups

Both anime are set in a post-apocalyptic setting with a similar vibe. They both focus on humans fighting for their lives against giant monsters and want to take back the Earth from the invasion. They are also both action-packed anime as well. If you like one, you may like the other.

These two anime have similar characters with the main character that wants revenge for his dead mom/family that where killed by giant evil monsters. They also have similar plots with Humanity is on the brink of extinction and the human race must fight back to win back their freedom.

Post-apocalyptic world where the Science might get back the old world, but a fantasy or unexplained supernatural forces won't let work easy. -Protagonists are not totally similar, maybe, only the cleverness to make plans and the willpower. But, not the genius in science and the dedication for it. To me, these shows are 56% similar, even so, they're always good shows.

Both shows seems to be homages to classic tokusatsu films/series. Both feature a huge kaiju(s) that needs to be defeated by the protagonist and co. Gridman has significantly less action and seems to rely on giving a surreal or mystery feel to the show. The CG designs are notably much cleaner, but very wonky in terms of movement. The Godzilla Netflix films are more action-oriented and set up a post apocalypse sci fi setting. The films are all "CG-fied" but have significantly better flow in terms of movement.
