Kubikiri Cycle: Aoiro Savant to Zaregotozukai

Both series are directed by Akiyuki Shinbo and written by Nishio Isin so no there's have a similar art and a similar way to tell you the story  

Both from the same author, director and studio; sharing similarities in visuals and storytelling. 

These two series share several similarities besides being love children between Nisio Isin and SHAFT. They both share many similar elements, with the difference being their focus. Bakemonogatari is, at its core, a romance between two characters, albeit in a subtle manner. Zaregoto is based on a crime mystery that the narrator finds himself dragged into. They both enjoy exploring concepts and ideas, such as works of literature, morality, identity, relationships, and Nisio's favorite, genius. If you enjoyed the thought-provoking conversations and stylistic visuals of Bakemonogatari, Zaregoto is worth checking out. 

So first of all they both share the same author "Nisioisin''. So the narrative is quite similar. Both of the show have a male protagonist trying to solve some problem that occurs in the story line with the help of some of the side/main characters. The plot is very character centric. The characters have deep and interesting personality. The interaction and conversations between the characters are filled with witful dialogues and many foreshadowings. 

Both were orginated from the same author and have a special emphasis on wordplay and both share a surreal and trippy kind of feel to the story in it and a male mc caught up in a series of unusual events too and both share nice art and animation that still holds up well. 

Both were created by Nisio Isin, and was produced by Shaft. Not only that, but because Kubikiri is an adaptation of one of Nisio Isin's first works, it has many traits that make it similar to Bakemonogatari in tone, feel, and dialogue. 

Both the series share the same author, director and studio so if you liked one you will most probably like the other as well. 

Same author, same studio. No wonder that if you're a fan of the Monogatari series you'll enjoy this anime a lot, although the first 2 episodes didn't do it's justice. If you like closed room mysteries then check it out. 

Bakemonogatari and Kubikiri Cycle are both written by the same author, NISIO ISIN, this makes both stories have pretty similar structures in how they tell their story. Not only that but both anime are animated by SHAFT and have Akio Watanabe as the character designer, which makes them very similar visually. Finally, both stories are very character driven with the main character tasked to talk/advance their relationship with the characters around them. 

Same studio(Shaft),same author(Nisio Isin) and I feel the same by watching these 2 animes! 

I'd say it isn't all that similar to Monogatari aside from maybe the artstyle and the fact that it's dialogue heavy, don't go into this expecting any tropes similar to it. Although, if you enjoyed Monogatari a lot and would like to get a bit more into Nisio Isin's works, I'd say give Zaregoto a shot. It's his first work and is quite a bit more raw. It's a murder mystery that doesn't really try to cater to a bigger audience but instead focuses on giving the best experience to its target audience. It covers only the first 3 volumes of the LN but it's still very good. The OVA is only 8 episodes so it isn't really a daunting task. Go ahead and try it, you won't lose much. read more

• It's quite hard to find something similar to the Monogatari series but not impossible since there are other works of the author out there as well with different themes but similar Writing & Kubikiri Cycle is one of them! • Both shows follow a really similar vibe as per art direction & a weirdly comfortable yet terrifying atmosphere! • Both shows are filled with Incredibly interesting & quirky characters with multiple layers! • Monogatari is more of a Psychological Cosmic Horror meanwhile Kubikiri Cycle is a Murder Mystery but still very Avant Garde!

Both shows are majorly dialogue-focused, have excellent shot composition, dense & foreshadowing conversations between characters, & an air of mystery. Both are also visually stunning and esoteric. 

Locked room murder mystery, a bizzare case and even more bizzare solution, this being combined with interesting visuals that enhance the aesthetic feel of the series. 

these 2 show both feature smart characters consider geniuses, they are both text heavy but if you like smart you are in for a treat.  

the settings are pretty similar: a murder mistery, on an isolated island, with a jaded main character, a side-kick girl with whom the mc has an ambiguous relationship. also, the focus in both works is what it means to be a genius. and they even share some nice art mixed with not-so-good cgi. as for the differences, whereas zaregoto provides a gallery of larger-than-life characters, the perfect insider has a more realistic feel. 

Both of them are about "locked room" murders on a isolated island, the focus in both works is what it means to be a genius and the personality of the characters (Thanks to the big amount of dialogues). Bizarre case and bizarre explanation. 

The use of seemingly impossible crimes made me think that Kubikiri Cycle: Aoiro Savant to Zaregototsukai took inspiration from Everything Becomes F. 

Same type of plot, same type of murder mystery. Both set on some isolated island. Smart duo solves mystery. Both have a twist in the end 

Both animes are focused on personality, there are a lot of dialogues that give insight in the personality, in my opinion this is the biggest point that gives both animes a personal note. they're both about a genius. Both animes are about locked room murders. The action on both animes are happening on a mysterious island. 

Both Animes have a "Locked Room" type of murder mystery going on. Both feature a Male-Female pair that are trying to solve the mystery. 

Both are locked room mysteries staring introverted protagonists and both share a brooding atmosphere. 

Group of extremely gifted cast in a secluded location has to figure out which one of them is a murderer before they become victims too. The author of Danganronpa has mentioned that Zaregoto Series was one of the inspirations for Danganronpa.

A group of people with special talents solves mysteries around murders in a building.Then, trial held among them to determine the killer. Both anime mix serious, psychological questions with weird and funny situations.  

Kibikiri Cycle and Danganronpa are both murder mysteries taking place in a large building made up of the most elit. One character dies at a time, and it is up to the rest of the cast to catch the suspect. 

Both are locked room murder mystery stories have broody lone wolf detctives in it as well as a sharp animation and artstyle as well too. 

Both have the same thing happened, there is a murder inside the building and the remaining people who are talented inside it should investigate it in order to reveal the culprit. 

Extremely complicated and well thought-out murder mysteries that are always very entertaining to see unfold. Danganronpa is a lot more rushed than Kubikiri Cycle, so the Danganronpa games are also a good option.  

Both shows are about using deductions to solve the murder mysteries. 

They both have mystery elements in them with the protagonist trying to solve them with their recreations of the events on their minds. They are both dialogue-heavy so you will have to pay attention to understand what is going on. 

Light novel adaptations about a pessimistic main character being brought to introspection and gradual change through solving mysteries. Both are heavy on words and rely on their script, but offer extremely high-quality visuals as a backing (Hyouka often visually portraying relevant information in creative and different ways, while Zaregoto relies on colourful and stylistic displays of surreal environments). While the mystery is what drives the plot for these two shows, their main focus is on the characters involved in them - Hyouka develops its cast slowly over a full season and has them change over time, while the shorter length of Zaregoto contrasts the main character's worldview with the distinctive and immediately recognisable personalities of the supporting cast. read more
