Nana and Paradise Kiss are similar in that they're both done by the same producers. This leads both shows to have a similar "drama" appeal. You're not quite sure what will happen to all the characters, even all the way up to the last couple minutes of the last episode. Both are directed toward more of the "girl" market, but they're entertaining enough for any type of drama/romance fan.

Anime adaptations of josei manga with an emphasis on fashion. One would assume this means most males should run far away with their anuses clenched and never look back, but no: they are strangely accessible and appealing even to the more manly males that frequent this site, such as myself. Seeing adult(ish) characters mentally dealing with the highs and lows of AN ACTUAL SEXUAL RELATIONSHIP IN ANIME!!111! is appealing in Paradise Kiss. Princess Jellyfish's fujoshi-in-a-boarding house freakout gag humour makes it more of a comedy than a drama and even more male-accessible as a consequence. And the fashion aspects are presented from the respective heroine's  read more

They have the same feel, animation, and general story line. While Beck seems to appeal more to the Male audience, Paradise Kiss seems to be more towards the Female aspect

I'd say Paradise Kiss is a more abstract version of Skip Beat, honestly. There are a few differences though. An example would be that in Skip Beat, the protagonist is an aspiring actress, while in Paradise Kiss, the protagonist is an aspiring model. As for the similarities, both protagonists originally have no interest in what they eventually begin to pursue.

Both shows revolve around making it in the fashion industry. The main female character in both shows is a model and the main male character is a designer. Paradise Kiss does seem to be a bit more mature though.

Both of them are written by Ai Yazawa so the ambiance feels the same : a group of people making clothes themselves while trying to figure out their dreams. Romance is involved in both, and we follow more the relationship of the male and femal main characters. same kind of humor. If you liked Paradise Kiss, their is not doubt you will also like gokinjo monogatari.

About fashion and clothes making with adult themes.

Light and funny, the two stories are different, but both are heartwarming and simply great. If you like one, you'll definitely appreciate the other one!

Both are about highschool girl that isn't close to anyone and just lives her dreary life until she meets the guy that shows her the joys of youth and helps her come out of her shell. Both focus on teenage girls feelings. ParaKiss is more about fashion, Sukinayo is more school-ish

Fashion anime about being your true yourself. Similar visuals.

Both animes experience the realer elements of romance and touch on human natures obsession with love. Love isn't perfect is a recurring theme in both animes

Both from the Noitamina programming block of Fuji TV, Hataraki Man and Paradise Kiss describe different professions but in the same way. If you want to know a little bit not only about fashion but also about journalism in Japan, and won't snore, these are a good choice. By all means the nice main characters bring these series together.

well.. it's my other favorite drama [without all the science-fiction-y unrealistic elements].. great animation, some of the best i've seen.. and the characters are solid.. romance, whatnot.. it's all there and my guess is that if you liked honey and clover you'd like this one as well.

both are mature, developed josei stories with really beautiful art/character design, both have a sophisticated, jazzy vibe, both draw the viewer in very early with great music/seiyuu...

Although different, both stories explore the idea of pursuing your own dreams within the arts. Both have a very cute story, light humor and romance.

Both contain social shut ins who become beautiful

In both of them, the main girl character discovers that there's more to life than studying. Both girl characters also struggle to discover their true feelings, and both anime have romance in them. However, Paradise Kiss seems to be a more serious type of romance story whereas Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun is much more light-hearted.

-Both are a very special love story -Rebellious heroines -Heroines have a lot of problems -Both heroes are handsome and popular:-)

They both deal with relationships and feelings on a level that's rare to find in anime. They both show the dark aspects as well as the lighter sides of life, and they both have well thought-out characters. I would definitely recommend them both!

both focus on characters in eccentric clubs and dreams and aspirations as well too.

I'm shocked how these are not recommended more...Paradise Kiss and Watamote have very similar vibes, humour, emotions, etc etc. If you like one you have to read the other.

There are a lot of characters that are similar to Mako, both are very female centric and funny.
report Recommended by momochi22
Both are funny, though Paradise Kiss is a lot better in my opinion. Both deal with female journey's in a crazy world. Both have very good stories/vibe.
report Recommended by momochi22
Not really similar but kinda gives them same vibes both are shoujos that are written really really well.
report Recommended by momochi22
Both series has characters that share ambitious teens trying to make it in the world of fashion and face many challenges along the way as well as a striking sharp artstyle to go with it. As well as the characters being quite fashionable and also has its own flamboyant characters in it as well too.

They are both coming of age stories. The protagonists are a group of art / design students. The stories focus on their love lifes. They both give of a nostalgic feeling about the struggles of youth.
report Recommended by MoshiMoshiiih
The protagonists in both of these stories come to know themselves better through their loves, and ultimately become strong women who are not going to collapse if their love falls through. They're about the empowerment of women without the loss of femininity and grace, and without degrading men.

Story of art, culture, and the lives of students are qualities these two shows share. Intrigue and insight into the world of idols and artists.

The dramatic scenes and comedic animation breaks make the two similar...I highly recommend Parakiss.

Stories about group of friends that involves couple, who tries to put two together and one girly girl (?) ^^

Both are stories about different spheres of entertainment/art, but the stories are very different

Story wise, these two shows are very different, but their art style and character design are very similar; and both feature great fashion design.

Both are mature, realistic dramas about life, romance and finding oneself.
report Recommended by TVC15
Both shows revolve around a young, impressionable talent being pulled into a goal-oriented group of people by their charismatic, but emotionally manipulative leader.
report Recommended by NavyCherub
Mature and realistic slice of life, female point of view. If you enjoyed the slow pace and you are in one of those "look at yourself in the mirror" kind of moods this is exactly what you are looking for. Slightly nostalgic, bittersweet, very enjoyable watch. I really wish there was more like this!

It has a similar theme in that both have stubborn and edgy girls, whose parents have high expectations for (one for her studies and the other for a rich husband), gets into a romantic relationship with rich 'bad boys'.
report Recommended by xo_cl2
Though not much resemblance, somehow these two had a similar feeling. A strong male leader and a girl who is in uncertain relationship - that's how I felt it. Besides, both were introduced in the noitaminA block.

I can compare Elemental Gelade and Paradise kiss in their arts style, not in story or whatever.. For me, the character design in Elemental Gelade is clean and pleasant to the eyes, but there's nothing particular about it compared to Paradise Kiss. It's got its charm, though. The swift change from normal to chibi characters feels natural in the context, and you also get to see exaggerated expressions on the characters' faces which is quite normal in anime. They all match their personalities. Seeing Coud does give you an impression of a naive young boy, while Rowen has a mature aura.

It does not have the same aspects as Paradise, but it definitely has the drama It is another anime that takes a quite real approach to romance Kimi ga is probably more prone to tugging on people's emotions Also both Kimi and Paradise both lean on their story, instead of adding comic relief
