Boku no Hero Academia

The appearance of "quirks," newly discovered super powers, has been steadily increasing over the years, with 80 percent of humanity possessing various abilities from manipulation of elements to shapeshifting. This leaves the remainder of the world completely powerless, and Izuku Midoriya is one such individual.

Since he was a child, the ambitious middle schooler has wanted nothing more than to be a hero. Izuku's unfair fate leaves him admiring heroes and taking notes on them whenever he can. But it seems that his persistence has borne some fruit: Izuku meets the number one hero and his personal idol, All Might. All Might's quirk is a unique ability that can be inherited, and he has chosen Izuku to be his successor!

Enduring many months of grueling training, Izuku enrolls in UA High, a prestigious high school famous for its excellent hero training program, and this year's freshmen look especially promising. With his bizarre but talented classmates and the looming threat of a villainous organization, Izuku will soon learn what it really means to be a hero.

A strong new entry in the era of shonen.
Finally the anime community receives a super hero anime. But My Hero Academia combines the hero genre with the classic shonen formula. While having one of the best music in the anime industry and a very unique and good looking art style, the anime faces a bright future.
The emotional weight of the show may be the most important thing in its first arcs, which is combined with the shows beautiful music to let the viewer be emotionally connected to the characters and their dreams. This emotional weight makes the viewer invested and gets executed in ... cool, emotionally hyping scenes what can only be done by this anime.
While the show does not move a lot it looks pretty fine and has a pretty good amount of highlight sakuga. Thanks to the character designer Yoshihiko Umakoshi and his corrections the show really manages to look solidly good, having highlights like the Hakuyu Go fight at the end of the first season.
The pacing is also fine, building an interesting story while already giving the viewer interesting bits of plot.
Very enjoyable but yet nothing crazy. 8/10

Mixed Feelings

"​If you ever wondered "what if Rock Lee was a Gary Stu?" this anime is the result of that. The series begins and we are introduced to a protagonist who is noble but is a victim of bullying, lacks friends, and is unable to fulfill his greatest dream, all due to his lack of a "quirk." However, the series waits no time until giving him the best power in the series, along with personal mentorship from the most powerful hero and a group of friends. This is because the most powerful hero took notice of him to be his successor due to a random act ... of kindness he witnessed. If My Hero Academia were a poem or a much more symbolic series, this detail could be overlooked, but that is not the case, as the series straightforwardly establishes that the greatest power of all was passed on by such a mundane act as the one shown to us. Looking beyond the protagonist, things are not particularly better. The secondary characters are characterized by just one trait with very few exceptions; throughout the series, only 2 villains are introduced, one being a personality-less monster, while the other seems to be the final villain, yet the series fails to address this character at all.
The animation, direction, and music are quite good, but what truly stands out, in my opinion, are the character designs; all characters have a very distinctive and interesting facial or body structure. However, these achievements are not significant enough to compensate for the plot and characters, which at best are mediocre. "If it is that bad why is muxed feelings?" well, if you are the kind of people that can turn-off his brain and only think about flashy things happening in the screen you may like it

I watched this on cable tv when I was in middle school and even then I could tell how ass it was, I cringed so hard while watching. The secondhand embarrassment nearly killed me. Midoriya is the most annoying main character I have ever set eyes on, he is such a crybaby and don't even get me started on Bakugo. I've seen other people make this point as well and I fully agree, out of all the freaky looking people this sweaty preteen goes to school with he chooses to bully Izuku Midoriya his childhood friend just because he doesn't have a quirk? Not the ... weirdo pulling his eyes out of their sockets?? Half of the freaks in their middle school class don't even have useful quirks, how is puffing up like a bullfrog useful in any manner during combat? I'll tell you isn't. Now let me get to the one thing I really dislike about this show. The fandom. Some of y'all and I'm fully aware it isn't all of you, but a large majority are freaky as all hell. I've seen grown ass adults sexualize the characters who need I remind you are children. That however isn't the only problem in this fandom, far too many of y'all are so strange and sometimes toxic I find myself having to log off the internet and touch grass. The Tik Tok someone made roleplaying a pregnant Deku made me wanna permanently delete the app. To be completely honest despite not even liking the first season even a little I might have watch the other seasons but the weridos I witnessed online completely dissuaded me from doing so.

I will say that if this is your cup of tea and you like this anime I have no qualms with you. My opinion is my opinion and not fact. The anime had a relatively interesting plot I'll give it that but, in my opinion failed to deliver something I could find enjoyable. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk.
