Recommendations

Both shows try to make comedy out of putting vulnerable girls with severe social anxiety into uncomfortable situations adding up to outright abuse. There is no clever writing, there is no character arc to vindicate the protagonists and assert their self-worth—there is only unenjoyable cringe. This site feature is called a "recommendation" but by no means would I recommend either of these appalling shows. Go watch Welcome to the NHK.

Both are about a small child and a non-human and have things about Japanese culture and religion. Chill easy to pick up comedy.

Kuma Miko and Locodol share a similar story arch focusing on local idols to help revitalize their small town/village trying to emphasize on the features of their village/town. Kuma Miko is much slower paced slice of life and has Machi as our main character who also suffers from crippling anxiety, whereas Locodol has high school girls who can be shy but do their best to try and help their town grain attraction from tourism and marketing.

I always like to keep my recommendations short and quick because it really comes down to the viewer. One of the first things that jumped out at me was that Natsu (the bear) has a lot of the same strange humor that Shirokuma had from SC. Almost a deadpan delivery. The other that both had was that the animals interacted with human. With SC, all the animals interacted with human. In KM, only the bears interacted with members of people of a small village in the northern Tohoku region. Interacted as they talked to each other. This makes for some  read more

Hoozuki no Reitetsu and Kuma Miko are two anime that are similar in some aspects. For one, the two have two mini-arcs in each episode that involve comedic characters. There also isn't really much plot and the series are like sitcoms. Both series are extremely light-hearted. The series are shows that you wouldn't seriously try to think too much about.

Main characters have social anxiety troubles, also, both are from the countryside. Machi (Kuma Miko) wants to go to a school in the big city, and is best friends with a bear. Hinako (Hinako Note) just arrived to the city to attend school, and animals are attracted to her. Both are pretty cute shows with complexed MCs struggling to improve themselves.

Both MCs suffer from extreme social anxiety: they faint when overwhelmed, vomit when nervous, and draw up ridiculously convoluted plans to avoid social contact.

Machi & Nene's romantic desires seem similar in few ways. One is about "Fashionable" and other is about "Ikemen"

Both girls are Ainu. Lots of Ainu cultures presented in Anime.

I can’t believe this wasn’t recommended yet. -Both giant animals that take care of a incapable young girl -Kuma Miko girl is school age while the other is a working young woman -Goofy antics -Frustrated larger animal but protective over their girl -Slice of life -Unrealistic yet hardly fantasy -Two main characters with little focus on anyone else -The bear can talk to the human, the cat can not but he has internal dialogue and goes on shopping trips

has to do with country life and learning to adapt to your surroundings. plus both are pretty funny.

- Both anime are about towns in the countryside trying to attract tourists - Both anime follow girls (Machi and Yoshino) being the attractions of the town - Both girls live in a rural town - Both girls want to go to the "big city" - Both work with their "friends" towards achieving their goals - Both have similar art style (even though they are by different studios) - Similar Genres (Slice of Life, Comedy)

Don't get fooled! There's more to it than what meets your eyes. At first they might look like your usual cutesy series with the characters in both series following their own typical lives. However that's wrong. They're both seinen, so be sure to expect deep themes. They're both about main characters striving for something minor. Whether it's a girl or a dream they will work hard for it. They realize that they cannot do it alone so they will involve someone who'll be a core part for their future decision. Along the way they will have to make decisions such as if they value their  read more

Both anime are cute anime about a very cute girl and a talking animal; in Kuma Miko a bear and a shrine maiden; in Mahou Shoujo Mou Ii Desukara a magic girl and a fictional creature. The interactions between the two are very similar compared to both anime,as anime the girls are teased often by the animal, which often means they are coerced into wearing weird (cute) outfits. Main difference is that Kuma Miko is full length while the other is only few minutes per episode.

The comedy style, I think. It plays some jokes on the Japanese rural life, it's kinda otaku-aware, mature (not as in, porny; I mean actually catered for seinen demographics) and both are generally very fun - a bit weird? - series.

Replace the elf with a bear, make the girl look younger and remove the otaku theme, and you'll almost have Kuma Miko, except for a few nuances. Both shows are about how a lazy and spoiled non-human (an elf in Edomae and a bear in Kuma Miko) leads a spoiled life at the expense of a miko girl, to whom he is close as a relative.

A story about relationship between human and bear
report Recommended by SSSS_Shunaria
Both are entertaining supernaturally themed slice-of-life series with a main character who works as a shrine maiden and has a close friendship with a large talking animal.

Both anime about friendship of man and beast that is the human mind. In Udon no Kuni no Kiniro Kemari this is boy-tanuki Poko, in Kuma Miko this is bear Natsu. In Udon no Kuni no Kiniro Kemari guy named Souta takes care of Poko. In Kuma Miko bear Natsu takes care about girl named Machi. Couples of these anime fall into awkward situations, find new friends, learn something, and give each other pleasure.

Both shows demonstrate a great interaction between adult and a child. If you want to see how they overcome the age barrier, this is a show for you.
