Wakako-zake

After a hectic day at office, the central female characters in these series enjoy their leisure time by having different types of drinks. While Wakako-zake focuses on the lead character enjoying drinks in various food shops (like sushi bar), Osake wa Fuufu ni Natte kara's lead character returns to her house and enjoys drinks prepared by her husband. These two anime are mainly mind-relief based series, and while they have a bit different appeal (Osake's Chisato acting funny after drinking), the mental effects on the viewer are the same: calming experience. 

Relaxing anime about periodically enjoying simple but delicious food in eatery. While Wakako-zake is pure slice of life, Restaurant from Another World has a fantasy element to it. 

Two mouthwatering shows, where girls drink alcohol and eat tasty food. However, there is the difference in numbers of characters: in "Wakako-zake" there is only one woman whereas in "Takunomi" there are four young women living in the dorm. Anyway, you'll definitely want to drink something while watching these :) 

Food! Memories! Feelings! Are the main factors in which these two series are similar on. The two anime consists of the characters in their series eating food. After eating the food in the two series the characters either reminisces about their previous experiences while tasting it or describes the taste of the food.  

Both shows are about characters giving vivid descriptions about how food tastes. In Wakako-zake the focus is more on how well food tastes while Gourmet Girl Graffiti is more about the social aspect of eating. 

Both shows contain delicious looking food and characters happily eating them. 

Both are short anime series with a cute female mc, who is overly fond of something (tasting food in Wakako-zake, brother in Oneechan ga Kita).

While the two seem really distant in premise, I felt like Wakako-zake and Encouragement of Climb had a similar goal and overall feel. Both shows depict a cute, lovable introvert going out into the world and appreciating some of the simpler things in life (food and nature respectfully). While Wakako is content with her solitude and doesn't try to interact with others, Aoi from Encouragement of Climb is kinda forced into being social and attempts to sate her introversion while maintaining her friendships. Both also use a light color palette and focus most of their artistic energy towards making the food/mountains look appealing. Although, I suggested the first season of Encouragement of Climb, since both are in a short format (2-3 minute episodes), bear in mind that the second season of Climb is where it starts to really get good (switching to half-length episodes). You should think of the first season as more of an introduction to the characters and overall feel. read more 

Both slice of life shows offer you with traditional Japanese foods. You get to see the female leads enjoy their meals and they also share some details about their "dish of the day". Wakako-zake has shorter episodes than Maiko-san Chi no Makanai-san. It's best to watch these shows while you're eating; that's what I did. 

Shorts about tasty bar food! Wakako-zake is set in the real world and Isekai Izakaya in a not-so-real world. 

Two laidback, calming, and sweet shows with short episodes that can be watched and finished before work. Tsurezure Children focuses on highschoolers, though, and has an emphasis on romance. 

These shows focus on food and are shorts, JK Meshi is half about food and half about world history. Wakakozake is much more enjoyable to watch and a lot more appealing to the eye and somewhat of a comedy. 

Both anime belong to the slice of life healing category. Just watching the incredibly low stakes enjoyment of food of both these anime will calm and soothe you. 

Both series focus on the traditional Japanese food, its preparation and the pleasure of people eating it, also both are shorts. 

Very cute shorts about the warm comforts offered by popular Japanese drinking snacks when coupled with a good alcoholic beverage. 

The OVA for new year special, where Michael and his family eats new year's special Japanese dishes.  

This series revolves around Michael and his family exploring the Japanese cuisine and how they enjoy devouring every Japanese food. The series features yakisoba (fried soba noodles), chanko (sumo stew), kani (crab) dashi broth from fine-dining restaurants, and other popular items. The story unfolds from the unique perspective of a foreigner and includes pictures and explanations of Japanese food. 

Both shows focus on the obsession with food and different ways of enjoying it. Both shows vividly depict the sensations of taste and make you feel hungry just by watching it.  

Cute and refreshing animes about eating and sleeping. Good to relax after a busy day. They talk about everyday life and are very relatable. If you like Tanaka-kun's laziness and sincerity, you'll like Wakako's easygoing approach to life too.
