K-On! is made by the same director (Naoko Yamada), chief character designer (Yukiko Horiguchi), scenario (Reiko Yoshida), the same studio (Kyoto Animation), and depicts a similar story of high-school teenagers in a slice-of-life setting, exploring the same theme of friendship and maturing. There are major differences, though. K-On! Movie was a great fan movie, whereas Tamako Love Story is a great individual film (and not just a spin-off from the TV series Tamako Market). Tamako Love Story involves a story of love, lost love, family, death, neighborhood community, and overcoming of hardship, besides friendship and maturing. While K-On! focuses on the bright sides of life, Tamako  read more

Both Tamako Love Story and Koe no Katachi are directed by Naoko Yamada and produced by Kyoto Animation. Direction styles are distinctively her own, with use of cinematographic techniques and use of flowers as metaphors and right choice of music enhancing the experience. Tamako Love Story has a straightforward story although depth is added by the heroine's deceased mother and heroine's friend Midori whose role I would not disclose here (watch the movie. It's a modern classic). In Koe no Katachi, the themes are more dark and serious and an important side character, Ueno, is voiced by the same voice actress who played Midori- and  read more

Their art style is very similar and the level of romance are almost the same. Even the personality and background of the female protagonists are quite similar. Chitanda is from a noble famous family while Tamako is also the daughter of a famous family-run mochi shop. Both have very cheerful, sweet and friendly personalities. The male protagonists are also both secretly in love of the female protagonists. Also, in both anime, there is a cliffhanger in the end about the romance between the main characters that would surely make you scream for more.

Both are not that serious and haven't a lot of depth. Also, both art styles are rather "colorful".

I would argue that these are two of the most believable love stories in anime. The stories themselves aren't perfect, plenty of drama and uncertainty, but that's what makes them feel human. They are enjoyable to watch and it's easy to get invested in the characters. Good dynamics between the pairings.

If you are looking for a pure love story after Tamako Love Story, Tsuki ga Kirei will definitely not disappoint you. It can remind you of the first love we've ever experienced. Sweetness, sourness, the unforgetable youth.

although these two anime may seem different right off the bat, its very similar in terms of romance. anna has a friend whos interested in her, and that hinders natsuki's progress in maintaining a relationship with anna. in tamako love story, mochizou likes tamako, but midori, the school president, also likes her to point of attraction, and that also hinders mochizou's progress in confessing to tamako. mochizous crush on tamako is as obvious as natsukis crush on anna. natsuki has a group of friends who'd help him get with anna; mochizou has a group of friends who know his crush on tamako, and theyll be  read more

The third part of Shikioriori hits your heart with a love story akin to that of Tamako Love Story, that of two young people unable to actually admit what they feel for each other. They both are beautifully animated and tug at your heartstrings.

A really beautiful love story<3

Both of these anime movies are heartfelt teenage romance dramas. Kyoto Animation and CoMix Wave Films did an absolutely amazing job of animating Tamako Love Story and Tenki no Ko respectively. Though you have to watch Tamako Market, a short twelve episode TV anime, before watching Tamako Love Story, I still highly recommend watching both because the conclusion to Tamako Love Story is simply breathtaking. Both of these films are a must watch for fans of Makoto Shinkai (director of Tenki no Ko) and romance anime in general.

Although Kimi no Na wa has a key supernatural element to it, and Tamako Love Story doesn't, both share a similar puppy love and beautiful art styles. Both give you good vibes about love, friendship and just life in general.

Both of these are made by kyoto animations. So you will see similar art and characters. Both are light hearted, will make you laugh, and will have you out of your seat crying by the end. They both close fully and bring a well deserved end to the tv series.

Yeah, The Disappearance of Haruhi is, so far, the best film produced by Kyoani. The sense of growth of the two individual main characters is present for both, and Kyon is arguably a better protagonist than Mochizou. Try it out and compare. Though, before watching the Haruhi movie, you need to watch the TV anime first, but for Tamako Love Story the prequel isn't a must-watch to watch the movie.

Tamako Love Story and Kase-san and Morning Glories are both extremely cute movies that focus on a romance between two high school characters that will be graduating soon. Both shows have the same lighthearted and fluffy feelings along with great emotional moments and extremely charming characters. They are the type of movies that will have you smiling really big, and maybe even hiding your face in your hands a little bit as you experience the main characters navigate their feelings of love and affection for the first time. Both are stellar romances, and if you like one for any of the reasons I stated,  read more

The atmosphere in both of them is calm and it focuses on the relationship of two friends who might just be a bit more than only friends... Isshukan Friends has only hints of this however the characters are in the sense that they are sort of clueless when it comes to love.

In both shows, the main female protagonist is confessed to by her longtime childhood friend early on, however, she herself is unaware of her own feelings towards him. As the story progress', she begins to realize her own feelings, which also helps her become a better performer/worker

The entire romantic situation in both shows with how it's widely known that the guy is in love with the oblivious girl until a major event happens which causes the girl to act awkwardly as she realizes her true feelings is similar between the 2 This is more predominant in Waganaria 2, as the relationship between Yachiyo and Satou is similar to Tamako and Mochizu
