If you are one of those thousands who watch this newest JoJo series right now, and you feel that there is something about it that you like, yet you can't put your finger on what it is exactly, here is a suggestion. Try watching Hokuto no Ken and see if you will get this same feeling. And you don't have to watch the 100 episodes long TV series, just check out the movie. Or you are one of those who watched everything Hokuto no Ken and you are lamenting the fact that they don't make anime like this anymore? Give JoJo's Bizarre Adventures a try, maybe  read more

Both are movies featuring manly heroes. Fist of the North Star is obviously more violent in content but both films do contain great animation in its action scenes. The story line in the Toriko series is inspired by Fist of the North Star, however the movie simply serves as a presentation to its cast and unique setting. Oddly enough, both of these theatrical films have a similar subplot on flowers and the preservation of nature.

Both are very violent with heavy emphasis on action (but with swords instead of fists). Kenshiro (Fist of the North Star's lead) and Jubei (Ninja Scroll's lead) are both very similar in their battles and exploits (Jubei is perhaps a little less scrupulous and more antiheroic than Kenshiro though). Both also feature female romantic interests in the form of Yuria (Fist) and Kagero (Scroll).

If you saw JoJo 2012 and decided you really like manly men doing manly things, you will love Hokuto no Ken: the movie from 1984. The manliest anime EVER! Accept no substitutes!

Hokuto No Ken or Fist of the North Star is very similar to DBZ. It has long and action packed fighting scenes and men with power levels that exceed over 9000! I recommend watching this movie which is very entertaining like DBZ was!

Both are MANLY 80's shonen jump titles! The plot for Otokojuku's film involves our main characters to participate in the Big Battle August Tournament taking place in America. Fist Of The North Star is a retelling of the first 50 eps in the series displayed in a more epic & high quality format but story differences are to be expected. While Otokojuku's film isn't as gory as North Star, it does contain those masculine vibes such as a courageous spirit. It should be noted that the series for Otokojuku is heavily inspired by Fist Of The North Star due to its many character designs especially  read more

Action-packed movies of the 1980's starring manly protagonists!

Both titles are set in a post-apocalyptic setting after the earth was destroyed by a devastating event. The main protagonist in both anime uses martial arts to kill anyone that stands in their way. They are also both action-packed anime with lots of blood and gore. The differences between the two is that Apocalypse Zero is more wacky and has mutants for enemies while the Fist of the North Star animated movie has humans for enemies and has a better story. If you enjoy one, you should like the other as well.

Both titles came out in the 1980's. Both anime feature extremely muscular main characters that fight against powerful enemies with over the top violent martial arts. Both the First of the North Star Animated Movie and Battle Royal High School feature very violent and gory death scenes. If you enjoyed one, you will enjoy the other.

It has similar drawing style and bloody battles.

Both films have the same director, star a stoic hero and contain a very dark tone in its stories.
