Both have "Italians" & are hilarious.

If you loved Thermae Romae then you will most likely love Nobunaga Concerto. I feel that there is definitely something more similar between both anime other than the time slip. Also they are both very underrated.

Both are short flash-based animations with the purpose to educate viewers about certain customs and culture.

Historical anime for aesthetes, including old men, comedy and anachronisms

These two both have basically the same premise: Man from Rome charged with some construction project being sometimes randomly warped to modern day Japan for inspiration. Most of the humor comes from the cultural and technological differences between the two time periods and regions. Olympia Kyklos is much more of a gag comedy and I found it to be the more enjoyable of the two, but both scratch a similar itch for short historical comedy.

Both shows have a very unique art style. Although the theme of Kuuchuu Buranko is a little bit more serious, they both give of a similar feeling.

These are two products of the same company, both with very simple art styles. Both are lighthearted and immensely entertaining comedies, despite their short durations.

Shows for distinguished lovers of bath culture. Binan Bouei-bu is a 'magical girl' parody with lots of references to classic magical girl tropes but also to baths and popular bathing hotspots around Japan. The gang also spends a decent chunk of time lounging around in a public bath; as befitting a tasteful magical boy brigade. Good job gang. Thermae Romae is more for the purists. Baths. Nothing but baths. Mostly Roman baths and Japanese baths; idiosyncratic in style but also educational in nature. A quality piece of animation for someone looking to relax and/or get very worked up about baths (preferable post-bath, with a cool drink in  read more

Similarities - Both series have people that time travel and bring modern ideas into the past - Both series occur in modern day east asia and ancient day Roman empire/China Differences - Romae is about a single person time travelling/isekai VS are you ok is more wide scale. - Romae is essentially isekai VS are you ok is tensei/reincarnation into the past - Since more people travel to the past in are you ok they have more information and resources to make elevators, exercise bikes, bikes with a side wing, stream services, sashimi, news etc VS romae is just bathing culture from the modern world that gets taken back to the  read more

Unconventional series, both of which allude to Ancient Rome in some way. Thermae Romae's premise is a time travelling Roman exploring Japanese bath culture and Sekkou Boys is about animate plaster-casts of famous sculptures living as idols in modern Japan. Just look at that perfect complementation. Watch both.

Both series talk about the inner workings of a mundane subject. Baths for TR and bread for YJ. Add a dash of surreal comedy and you have charming series that not only make you laugh but genuinely teach you something new.

Similar papercut style of animation with a set of expressions and poses for each individual which are then reused throughout the scene. Looks suspiciously like terrible Clip art; giving both series a distinct 21st century Neo-Dadaist feel. Quirky and outrageous. Inferno Cop is more action orientated and Thermae Romae is more-or-less trying to be informative.

Traveling through time and space via pools of water? Check. Main character experiencing a strange new land? Check. Hints of BL? Check.

They both share the theme of people from different time eras or worlds that stumble upon modern day Japan and experiencing the things they offer for the first time much to their delight & surprise. One focuses on bathing culture whilst the other focuses on modern day food.

Both anime's come form the same producer Tani Higashi. The animation/art style is the same, and the comedy is on the same level also. They are classified as short anime's but despite that they are very entertaining.

Cheaply animated shorts about grown ups whose quirky humor and endearingly dumb characters play way above their budget.

Both series take a bizarre concept, combine it with an odd attention to detail on an unusual choice of subjects, and then apply it to a combination of strange animation and surprisingly good comedy.
