This series has the same form: A boy who wants to be a champion on some leagues, that meets his non human partner on the first episode, some guys who are supporting him, they both live only with their mother, a group of guys who wants to steel Pokemons/medals (such as Robrobo group/team Rocket) and the most important - the leagues.

In both shows heroes battle with mechanisms that harbour spirits of creatures. In both parts can be modified and upgraded to increase that creature's efficiency in battle. Both are iconic kids anime from the same era with similar looking main characters.

Pokemon and Medabots are shounen anime and they pretty much alike. Both anime's are about a boy, who lives alone with his mother, that gets a pokemon/medabot as their partner. They become friends and battle a lot with other people. They wanna become one of the best and to do so they participate into competitions. Both series also got some "bad guys" and they are complete idiots, they always lose in the end.

Gad Guard is basically a deconstruction of the light hearted "boy with partner robot" genre that Medabots embraces.

Both classic kids anime from a similar era. Both have similar expressive art styles that definitely go for that same "cool" and different/unique look. Both have lovable characters/creatures, great soundtracks and awesome English dubs!

Both kids anime from the "monster battler" craze era, both however more niche titles in the space that were primarily made to market toys & games. Both feature young child protagonists that battle each other using gear, parts, apparatuses (bots/beys) that can be customised/modified & upgraded.

Both are classic monster collecting kids anime series, both have intelligent creatures who communicate with main human heroes of each respective series. Both have great English soundtracks.

Both use parts to customise something their kid characters use to battle each other (Medabots/Beyblades). Both are imbued with the spirit of something (bitbeasts/medals). They share many similarities like art style, music, humour, general tone & feel.

Both children's monster battle anime, both heavily team/teamwork focused, both have monster spirits within a customisable object used for battle (bots,medabots/beys,beyblades). In both the sentient spirits inhabit a part placed within the aforementioned object (the bitbeast/medal), in both they communicate with and battle alongside their partners/owners.

Both niche monster battling/taming kids anime. Both have sentient creatures that ally themselves with human main characters, in both the monsters communicate with the heroes in the same human language.

Both have MC's that pair with a hard-headed bot. Medarot has it's funny moments but the puns in Heybot! are a definite killer that are too clever for their own good.

Similarly to how the main protagonists of Keroro Gunsou have their own mascots - Fuyuki and Keroro, Natsumi and Giroro, Mutsumi and Kururu - most of the characters in Medabots have their own cute or wisecracking ally by their side. The stories start off mainly episodically but they do have arcs within the series. Both shows have a tendency to do ridiculous and comedic facial expressions.

The protagonists resemble each other because they are both funny, and also, they were the worst students in a school, but both went ahead and triumphed.

Both anime got a 'kids and their cool pet' story. Both are subversive about it. They question the nature of these cool pets. Medabots is better at its exploration. The Medabots are a represntation of weaponry. What the Digimon represent isn't very clear. They both move from light-hearted to dark at the end. While Medabots is less convenient and weirder, Digimon Tamers has better character development.

It is no doubt in part to their ridiculous yet threatening villains that these two mecha series can fluctuate between seriousness and over-the-top comedy without a hitch, delivering a heartwarming message of teamwork all the while. Interestingly, most of the key members in Gurren Lagann's production had previously worked on Medarot.

Gou and Drum are a lot like Ikki and Medabee. These are have a similar type of battling. They are both fun! If you enjoy Medabots, then you will enjoy this.

Both classic kids anime. Both have revived ancient monster spirits. Both have young children characters. Both have companionship with the revived monsters and the kid characters. Both have intense battles and wide varieties of monster designs.

Both kids anime with futuristic technology (Vrains/virtual reality, medabots/personal robots).

Both children's anime with similar premises and themes. Both have young heroes who participate in competitive battles, both shows have tournaments, parts and customisation. Whereas Medabots has monster spirits sealed within medals which are used to power robots, Beyblade sees monster spirits held within the "beys" they use to battle.

They are similar because the battles are performed by robots, controlled by its owner.

The weak main character that finds a robot, which becomes more powerful when it needs. In both the character develops and becomes stronger

Both series are interesting twists on robot toy competition shows, the twist is that they're awesome. They both rely on good writing and humor, along with just enough Super robot-esque glowing and attack yelling to be considerably badass. The soundtracks are kind of similar too.

Both shounen and action, somethimes funny

Both uses robots to save the world but the robots of Shutsugeki are way bigger.

They both involve a middle school student using a robot for battles.

Both have battle droid. Customize them. They fight against each other.

Robots with consciousness. The main robot kinda hate the main character when he actually like him.

Both kids anime that focus on gaming with competitive battles. Both feature monsters, with sentient spirits of creatures trapped in objects. Beyblade has the bitbeasts within their beyblades whereas Medabots has their spirits in medals that go inside robots. Both series feature adaptable and upgrade-able parts.

Both classic and iconic yet niche monster battling anime. Both have intelligent creatures who communicate with the human characters in the same human language. Both have similar aged heroes and sense of humour.

I say Medabots is kinda similar to the anime air Gear. in Air Gear there are parts war and ranking tournaments. Medabots has those things too however Air Gear you get rollerblade(ATs) parts and rank up buy defeating 3 members of the same rank or move on to the next rank by defeating a higher rank team. Medabots once you defeat someone you get to choose a robot part and when ever you defeat a person the main character ranks up who is able to enter a tournament.

Meadabots has a older feel to the animation with even less detailed art but the plot and characters are solid. Instead of monsters you got robots and instead of fighting evil digimon there's a crime syndicate and tournaments with other robots. The reason i think you would enjoy this show if you enjoyed digimon is cause it just has the same feel when watching it. Your interested to see more and learn about the universe your in. You wanna see how they win and all the different types of robots and what exactly they do. it may not be the exact same plot or arch type  read more

Both monster battling kids anime that are quite niche and never really lived up to their famous peers such as Pokemon, Yugioh, Beyblade & Digimon. Both feature a dynamic cast of young heroes and compelling monsters.
