The stories focus around characters from a village that has a deep dark secret, not to mention members of the village have special powers. The art style is similar and has a Gothic art scheme going.

Both centre around the unique features of a small, remote village and the events that have transpired there. Kamisama Dolls is less severe about it, since the majority of the series takes place in a more urban setting and deals with the repercussions, whereas Higurashi definitely tends toward the worst case scenario -- but as each piece of the backstory for Kamisama Dolls is revealed, it becomes increasing obvious that it's not exactly sunshine and lollipops either.

There is one group that is able to control "things" that have great powers, but the world they live in is tormented and dark, not to mention filled with violence, death, frustration and a life that just doesn't seem just.

Young people linked to strange creatures. All the masters can to see through the eyes of their controlled creatures; both "dolls" and "dragons" are able to fly and bring their masters with them; in either shows there are very much similar fights, battles, and murders done by the "dolls" and "dragons" while under control of human masters. Also the handled themes are pretty similar.

Basically, the main characters can control mecha-like entities and make them fight one another (thus creating a lot of turmoil) but at some point they change their masters. The creatures are to be kept in secret, though in the process more people learn about them.

Both the Anime have a dark story line that progressively gets darker. The latter style of Bleach is similar to the style Kamisama Dolls has. On top of this one of the characters is very similar to Ichimaru Gin... they're both creepy in similar manners. It is also about fighting to protect what you care about.

The characters in the show operate their machines based on a persons emotional state of mind. There is also something that they are trying to fight for and plenty of angst.

In both anime the protagonists can telepathically control mechanical monsters and make them fight for them.

Both series involve kids with special powers using semi-sentient inanimate objects as weapons, with a prodigal son-type MC. Both series draw on the Shinto concept of animistic spirituality, or Kami, and there are some superficial similarities in the designs (the eyes) of the kakashi (dolls) and the bubuki.

1. Both of the series have a similar feel to them 2. Both main characters have lost someone important to them and now hate their beloved's killer 3. Main characters pertend to act all goody while they actually have a lot of hate and want revange.

Both series are surrounded by mystery with an eerie atmosphere throughout nearly every episode. It also seems that the setting in both series involves a village or at some point. Both series contain supernatural elements that are not seen in common day lives. These supernatural elements often consists of bizarre incidents dealing with the main characters from both series. Both series in general have a strange background with mysteries to be unlocked as each episode progresses.

Both anime involve characters who summon dolls/creatures to help them in battles. A character in both shows escapes from a place in which they were being held, which causes many people to pursue them. Also, in both shows, the events of the past influences the characters and their interactions with each other. They can both get dark and violent, but Kamisama Dolls, despite having comedic moments, is the darker of the two, and contains more action.

In both these shows, we have: - Females with short temper - A wimpy indecisive male lead - Mechs - Explosions - A lame ending. I found these titles not that great, but kinda entertaining on the way.

Kids controlling 'gods' and using them to fight against other 'gods'. Chiaki Ishikawa sings all the songs too.

In both series, the MC moves to a new place to seemingly begin their new life but strange events happens around them in supernatural form. There is indeed supernatural themes in both series that also involves a higher power. These powers seemingly surround the origins of both series as the main protagonist is the center of it all. There is also some mystery phenomenon in both series and hinted romance. Among other factors, Kamisama Dolls and Red Data Girl has a similar vibe with their settings in the modern world but with some traditional backgrounds set in previous times.

Magic, fights, main heroine is a loli, and both have a "crazy" white haired guy who is a villain at first, but in the end, he´s not really what he seems.

In both, a girl and one boy blood related (in KD, are siblings while in KNS are cousins) are from a village where there are clans with some sort of power. Also there are similarities in the plot: one of the main guys was mistreated and misjudged and later arrested/expelled. Also, he later comes back for revenge against those who mistreated him. In both in KD and KNS, the same boy knew a girl, fell in love but then something happened to her.

Similar supernatural and godly setting. Both series put a lot of effort into humiliating and comedically abusing their characters.

*Akira is just a movie (and a great one at that), so no need to sit threw hours of fotage looking out for similarities* The similarites steam from: - science element - individuals from isolated towns - creepy little child with psycic abilities - a higher power (organisation) manipulating people - same child has a maniac youth in a similar position to contend with - the ability to control things remotley - the main/hero appears to be your average person who'll have to face off against the villian dispite dissadvantage - a strong and clear element of conspiricy - the sinister music is similar? can't quite pin-point why? Kamisama' is, so far, very similar to Akira,  read more

Kamisama Dolls and Elfen Lied share a similar dark, mysterious atmosphere. Both include blood and gore - the amount of which is unknown for Kamisama Dolls (at the moment). It also seems as if Kamisama Dolls's plot progression will mimic Elfen Lied's, as both involve murder as a result of an event in the past.
