Recommendations

Flying, airships, warring factions, royalty, and dogfights. Last Exile Ginyoku and Toaru Hikuushi share these characteristics. Combined with an engaging and memorable story. You will love both.

i wanted to bump this recommendation because the two series have a very similar style of plot. both stories center around politics and war. amongst the conflict, lelouche in code geass and luscinia in last exile decide to unite the world, all while being heavily misunderstood.

A number of similarities exist. Fam hunts Skyfish, and Sam hunts sand whales, both of which use the term "kujira" for "whale" in the original Japanese. Both characters are somewhat carefree and rescue a princess, drawing them into a greater conflict. In both worlds, ships use the skies and the ground as their "ocean".

Similar use of mechanical devices and military themes. There is also an adventure style in play in both series as well as action, drama, and conspiracy.

THE RelationSHIP between Fan Fan, Fam and Turan, Millia il Velch Cutrettola is a lot like Arika and Mashiro's,the same way Mashiro's wont to be come a grate queen ,Turan, Millia il Velch Cutrettola wont to be come a grate leader and rebuild her country all the same ,they do use Robe's but they use ships as both storys go on you'll see how a like they are

Air battles- check. Steampunk/sci fi -check. Mostly female cast -check. shoujo ai(Simoun)/ shoujo ai hints(Last exile)- check.

The storyline has a similar treatment of war and peace involving multiple nations and organizations/factions, with plenty of battles (Gundams and other mobile suits, air ships and vanships, etc.).

Space pirates, sky pirates. Spaceships, airships & vanships. Thievery, although most of it in Mouretsu Pirates is prearranged and staged. Good CGI. Strong female characters.

Want to see more of the Kissuisou trio? Look no further than Last Exile Fam. Fam and Giselle bear a strange resemblance to Ohana and Nako, being a genki fanatic and a doormat with no other distinguishable traits. Minko meanwhile is even in another country and bears the name Diane here, but acts still the same.

Young princesses, global politics and war. it has also an overall similar feeling, but Aldnoah is more serious.
