Have you ever wondered what happens to the characters after the finale of those animes whose end goal is to defeat a big bad demon lord? Now have you ever considered how the demon lord feels after being vanquished?

Hataraku Maou-sama! shows you a glimpse as to how those stories might continue. This anime cuts through the long cliche'd epic and bring you directly to the point where sequels will never be based on.

When the demon lord Sadao gets plunged into a world where there is no need for an ultimate evil, he does what every unemployed (and broke) villain might do: get a crappy day ... job and aspire to rebuild his now lost kingdom in the modern day.

Sure it has your light hearted comedy, slice of life fervor, and even over the top action scenes every now and then but what I really like about this anime is the chance to see what a villain would do given a chance to start over following their defeat.

Now I must admit this anime has its flaws (especially towards the last episode) but it was enjoyable to see such a story make its way into the scene. All I really hope is that it continues the way it started off and also continue adding dimension to a seemingly 2 dimensional role seen in most anime characters.

The rating I gave was really for what it could've or can become given a little more thought and heart. I recommend picking this anime up but I must warn viewers that you may ask for more and probably not get it anytime soon.

If you are looking for a serious shounen anime about a boy's hardships through high school and him gaining experiences that make him a better individual in life then you may have to keep on looking because Cromartie has none of this except the boy and high school.

Cromartie High School is one of the funniest crack humor animes I've had the pleasure of surviving. It is definitely a delightful distraction if you're having a bad day as the humor is just simply put, hilarious.

A warning to those who consider humor as a side dish to their animes, Cromartie has no running story. There is no ... grand plot to the whole story. This however, is also one of its good points as it is like I said something to distract you. It's sorta like a bag of chips it's definitely yummy but it's bad for your health which in this case your mind! Another warning would be since it's a shounen anime, its humor caters more to the male crowd and so women might find the jokes boring.

The anime relentlessly pummels you with so many jokes and so much stupidity that it tends to blur your perception of the anime you might be watching alongside it making them seem more profound than they really are.

All in all, if you need something to put a smile on your face or you just need to waste 12 minutes of your life, I think this anime is what you're looking for.

I happened upon this anime in several anime fan sites as it was considered one of the higher rated animes even until today. Reading how some people said it rivaled works that of Miyazaki, I had high expectations for it. But unfortunately it was a total letdown.

The only thing I really enjoyed about the movie was the animation quality and detail that was put into the movie. The animation was just simply beautiful from the vividness of the background to the fluid motion of characters but then, sadly, the praise ends here.

The story and the characters were very anti-climactic as no real progress is met ... by the characters with one another. This is however how the creator of the story wished for it to be i think as the title is named "5 centimeters per second". It was a collection of short stories about human distance. I'll say though that the concept and execution were nice but the story itself was lacks proper closure as it presents the audience with the concept but then leaves it at the presentation with no real conclusion. The story began as a cultured glass of wine then slowly transforming into wine in a box. The depth slowly filled in as the stories progressed. They were written just so that a concept could be brought to stage and left there to be a static attraction for the audience.

So if you're looking for a totally artistic and visually pleasing feature with no real concern for a happy ending with much depth in the end then give this one a looksy.
