Senran Kagura is quite obviously a piece of fan service, and as a fan service it is great, but also underneath the fan service, is a good story that draws you in. The story comes across as an over simplified "good vs bad" story, and the English dubbing is very simplistic in the language it uses.
Look through the fan service, look through the simple top layer of the story, and Senran Kagura is a fair bit deeper with a story of good turned bad to pursue power and then has thoughts of returning to the good.
Story is a solid 7/10. Yes it's a bit simplified,
...
yes its fan service, but its very approachable and doesn't get bogged down in unnecessary detail.
Art is 9/10. This maybe a bit bias by me being a bit of a perv, but take what you will, it looks good, scenery is enjoyable and it all works.
Sound is 8/10 minimum. English dub for this is very good, and the choices for each character were spot on!
Characters are 9/10 easily. Ikagaru and Katsuragi make this anime, and their voices are perfect in every way! All characters have a back story that makes sense for where they are, and there is a good amount of development for a Fan Service.
Enjoyment and Overall 8/10. I enjoy a good Fan Service as much as the next guy, but sometimes its a bit heavy. Bearing in mind that the story is actually captivating, and the girls aren't trying to impress boys it becomes a lot more enjoyable.
If you have looked at this anime and considered it then absolutely commit and give it a go. It's not going to win any awards, but its also not going to thrown away and never looked at again after you watch it.
Shout out to Ikagaru for being the black haired modest girl that is cute as hell, and with Tipton's voice acting, PERFECTION!

Dog and Scissors has to be one of the more bizarre anime that I have watched, on the surface appears like it is going to be a whole lot of trash, and believe me I gave my fiancee hell for buying it! But also believe me when I say that this anime is really good, and in a completely non-conventional way!
The premise of the story is that Kazuhito, a HUGE bookwork, protects a young lady in a cafe from a hold-up by jumping in front of a crazy man with a shotgun, to have his head blown off! All the while lady is completely oblivious
...
to what has happened as she is crazily scribbling away!
Kazuhito enters purgatory because he has something he has to complete in life, read the 7th book of the 7 Deadly Sins series by his favourite author, Shinobu Akiyama, and his desire to read this book is so strong that he is reincarnated...as a dog. PLOT TWIST, he is telepathically bound to the young lady that he saved, who just happens to be his favourite author! Who just happens to be a sadist!
This is all the first episode, and from here, it goes in a loop of serious and funny!
Without giving too much away, there is a very serious story going on for around the first half of the series, and then it goes a little haywire, but hey, its about a sadist author, and bookworm dog, and various other characters that are as crazy and lovable!
This anime is worth a shot and definitely go in with an open mind!
Natsuno (Akiyama) is easily my favourite character, and makes the story quite fun, she was really well done by the original producers, and the english dubbing is quite good to.
Not really any character that I 'dislike', but maybe too much of an effort to introduce characters later in the series.
All in all this series is a solid 8/10, and I am definitely interested in a 2nd season!.

If you're reading this review then I am pretty confident you either know exactly what Anohana is about, or you have watched it and want to see what others think about it. What do I think? This is probably one of the greatest animes I have ever watched.
I made the choice to power through this series in one day, one sitting, and I honestly don't think you would be able to do it any other way. The story is so gripping, and so personal on every possible level that it is truly amazing. You will find a connection to this series in some way, shape
...
or form, whether it be character design, story or scenery.
It definitely deals heavily with "To live is to lose", and the end of the series embraces that in its fullest.
I won't bore with too many details, if you've watched it I hope you loved it as much as I did, If you haven't then please do.
Personal favourite character - Poppo
Least favourite character - Yukiatsu
Favourite Episode - Can't remember specifically the # but when Menma makes steamed bread for everyone. (9 or 10 I think)

Just a quick review, I'm not going to pretend to be the worlds best critic.
I picked up this anime to begin with purely because I enjoy series where the girls kick ass, and everything I had read said it was exactly that, and...it was.
When I was nearly finished with the series I ran into a 14/15 year old who told me he found this series crap, that it was no action and no story, and you might think that if you don't enjoy the realities of space.
I feel this series is really true to what space travel would actually be like in the future, and
...
the character development is AMAZING! Everyone who appears played a part, there was unneeded fill in, and you really got to watch the characters grow throughout the series.
I struggle to rate this anime 10/10, purely because I do enjoy a bit more action and bit more fan service, but this show is truly a beautiful ride to take. The act and story are great, the characters grow before your eyes, and it provides both a conclusive finish, and an opening.
Like I said, I'm not going to pretend to be the worlds best reviewer, but if you are after a good story that isn't gonna make you cry for hours, this anime is worth a go!
9/10
