Summary: Your generic romcom about an antisocial dude, an energetic step-sister, and all their friends. This manga was obviously axed, as it tried to have some drama that could possibly develop but was never fulfilled. You can read this if you want a quick read of a cute and energetic girl. You don't lose nor gain much from reading this manga.
Actual Review
Story (4/10): An energetic girl moves in with her new step-brother, and we start seeing the daily life of them and their friends. That is pretty much the whole story. Basic rom-com stuff. I like how they tried to put a bit of
...
drama into the fray, but the manga seemed to have been axed, so that wasn't able to go anywhere. The fact the manga was trying to add more flair but failed to do so puts the story as below average for me.
Art (9/10): Personally, I believe the art carries this manga. I would've given this manga a 5/10 if it wasn't for the art. The art on the cover of the manga is the only reason I decided to read this, after all. I wish the story were as good as the art.
Character (5/10): Himari is by far the best character, but she doesn't really have a character besides just being three things: energetic, naive, and cute. Everyone else is a wash.
Enjoyment (5/10): It was a fine experience. Nothing of significance. Mostly something I just read on the bus to university or work.

[✪ Spoiler Warning ✪]
Before I go into this quick review, we need to keep in mind that this is a one-shot, so the intensity at which I'm looking at certain characteristics of this one-shot will be fairly different from a normal manga.
Story: 6/10
For a one-shot, the story was fairly interesting. It introduced the characters in a "good" way (keeping the story's atmosphere in mind) and allowed for future reflection at the end of the one-shot. The fact that this story is a one-shot makes the story even better, as if it were any longer, the story would have likely been worse.
I believe
...
that the story was meant to give an idea that there are many ways a person can go about developing romantic feelings. For the main character, that way was through getting r*ped in an abandoned building by her prior sexual partner. Even if this is an undesirable way to develop romantic feelings for most individuals, it got the "message" the story was trying to convey across properly.
Art: 5/10
The art is fine for a one-shot. Nothing to really note about the art...
Character: 4/10
The main characters are more of devices that are used to show the "message" of the story. One is a normal girl who was a bit lonely, and another is some serial murderer/r*pist. As for the side characters, they merely act as a way to add more thoughts to the main female lead as she is getting, uh, defiled.
Enjoyment: 6/10
I cannot say that I did not find this one-shot to be intriguing at the least. I thought it would be worse, so it betrayed my expectations at least.
Overall: 5/10
I can't say I would ever think of this one-shot when recommending something for someone else to read, but if you like reading basically anything (despite the quality of the work), then you should give this one-shot a read.

[Spoiler Review!]
This manga is an extensive retelling of the first half of the prior manga "Deep Love: Host," one of the worst installments in this series of manga. There is currently another review present critiquing this anime solely on the art style, but I believe there is more wrong here than just the art (per usual with this series).
(Keep in mind that this manga's scanlation was stopped at chapter 22, so I will mostly be basing this review off that point.)
Story: 3/10
The story here is just a more in-depth look at the first half of the prior manga. It shows Yoshiyuki's rise to
...
becoming the manager of one of the best host clubs in the area. This manga focuses more on Yoshiyuki's development as a character rather than the input of a bunch of tragic events. This manga definitely has the best story out of all the installments in the series so far, but not by much since it is still quite shallow.
Art: 4/10
The art style is lazy, but I prefer it over the standard shoujo art style. However, my preference does not take away from the fact that the art style is a downgrade in quality from prior installments (excluding something of the same caliber such as the Pao manga).
The characters also look quite different from what they looked like in the original manga.
Character: 3/10
Yoshiyuki's character is just being a good host with a troubled past. That is his only character trait in this manga. The other characters have more rememberable faces, but still lack enough substance for you to remember their names.
Enjoyment: 3/10
I found myself actually enjoying this manga more than the other manga in the series. It was a breath of fresh air as compared to the other manga in the series. I found myself impressed with Yoshiyuki's ability to handle his own.
Overall: 3/10
In conclusion, just like everything else in the series, this manga isn't good. However, it is better than the source material. It would have been even worse if the scanlators actually suffered enough to churn out more than 22 chapters of this horrible conclusion to the series.

[Spoiler Review!]
Glad to see there aren't any reviews for this manga yet. It allows me to share how horrible this manga is without a ton of reviews by people who were fooled into believing this manga any deep meaning.
Story: 1/10
I'll keep it short and sweet. Yoshiyuki lost his dad and the love of his life. He decides to work at a host club because he has nothing better to do, like go achieve a proper education or work a respectable job. He encounters tragic events that try to make you feel sad for him and the "characters" these events happen to. Yoshiyuki and everyone
...
end up big sad. The end.
There is no substance to the story, just like everything else this series has to offer. The one thing that is different from the story in this manga from the rest in the series is that the story manages to be EVEN MORE SHALLOW THAN THE REST. How is that possible? Beats me.
Art: 4/10
Standard shoujo art style. Not good, not bad. However, in this installment of the series, the characters manage to all look the same.
Character: 1/10
Yoshiyuki. That is the only character you will even care about in this manga, and the only reason you will care about him is that he is basically always present. He has no character and manages to be even more shallow than Ayu and Reina from the previous manga.
One "character" you can maybe make an argument for being a character is Reina's daughter, Ayu. However, her existence is solely meant to input more tragedy into this manga and nothing else.
I genuinely was wondering who some of the "characters" other than Yoshiyuki even were when I kept seeing them reappearing. They just pop up to serve a certain point on a few pages and then disappear. Also, the one-off "characters" are just unnecessarily evil just to input a bit more of that YUMMY TRAGEDY into the manga.
Enjoyment: 1/10
I couldn't even laugh at how bad this was. My only enjoyment was the end of this manga, but I'm still dreading how I am about to read the last installment in the series right after this review.
Overall: 1/10
Overall, don't waste your time on this manga. It manages to be worse than all the previous installments in the series, and the tragic events they use to try and evoke pity fall flat because the "characters" these events happen to are just human-shaped character tropes with names.

[Spoiler Review!]
I look again at the reviews and see nothing but praise for such a trainwreck of a manga. This manga is quite similar to the original manga it sprouted its parasitic limbs from; another sad attempt at using tragic events to create a sense of pity and "meaning" for the characters within this "story."
Story: 2/10
I already provided a somewhat in-depth story analysis for the original, so I won't bother to do the same. There is no story here, just a mold to pour tragic events into.
The story starts with Reina, her mom, and her daughter. Reina's boyfriend suggests breaking up when Reina
...
mentions that she was ra*ed and has a child. Reina is now sad. Reina's mom is put in the hospital for working too hard. Reina's child falls down the stairs and ends up blind. Reina tries to find a job, but she can't because she is a high school dropout. Reina goes into s*x work. Reina makes a friend! Reina gets targeted by the boss of the s*x shop. Reina gets forcefully put into an S&M situation with the boss. Reina's friend hits the boss with a fire extinguisher and tells her to run. Reina runs to her boyfriend's house. Reina's boyfriend says he was sorry for running and says he will stay with Reina to raise her kid together. Reina mentions that her friend is in a bad situation with the boss. Reina's boyfriend runs to help. Reina's boyfriend gets a bullet shot through his skull by the boss. Reina wonders where her boyfriend is for so long. Reina finds her boyfriend with a hole in his forehead. Reina is sad. Reina is kept as an S&M human s*x doll by the boss. Reina is in a bad situation, so Yoshiyuki from the original manga comes and says he wants to save Reina to the manager of the s*x shop. Reina is being kept hostage, so Yoshiyuki throws smoke grenades (yeah, he actually does this) into the boss's house to try and rescue her. Reina is seen as a shell of her former self, and Yoshiyuki hugs her as the boss approaches from behind with a gun to Yoshiyuki. Reina shoots at the boss with the gun after Yoshiyuki punches the boss, and the bullet hits Yoshiyuki. Reina is now being taken care of by Yoshiyuki (who knows what happened to the boss and his goons who kept Reina prisoner). The end!
Tl;dr Basically, the story is just about Reina and the bad things that happen to her. That is all.
Art: 5/10
Standard shoujo art style. Nothing good, nothing bad.
Character: 2/10
Reina is just a tragedy magnet, and Yoshiyuki is her knight in shining armor. Everyone else is a set of irrelevant plot devices used to further Reina's tragic life.
Enjoyment: 2/10
I am very fond of how the boss is just killing people and keeping a girl with a family hostage and isn't caught yet. The lack of believability in this manga is laughably bad.
Overall: 2/10
Overall, this manga is as much as a trainwreck as the original manga. In the moment, you can maybe justify giving this anything above a 4/10, but if you look at this manga objectively, you can see the many flaws and the mediocrity that it displays.

[Spoiler Review!]
After reading all the reviews here, I came to realize something. This manga is a sick attempt at using horrible events and circumstances to create a sense of "meaning" and evoke pity within the minds of readers who take the bait.
Story: 2/10
The "story" here has more holes in it than Swiss cheese. The "story" revolves around our main character, Ayu, and the horrible life she lives. Many questions arise when reading this manga, such as: What happened to her parents, what caused her to start prostituting herself, what did she need the money for, and many more. The only character trait Ayu has
...
is that she is a teenage prostitute. That's it.
Ayu eventually meets an old lady who takes pity on her and lets Ayu live with her. The granny tells a sad story about her husband that is meant to evoke further sadness towards the "story." Ayu also finds a dog later, so that's cool.
Ayu also has a friend named Reina, who a group of girls hates for some unknown reason. Reina and Ayu later have sex with some old dude because the old dude just walks up and asks them how much they are paying for sex, which is something that I highly doubt happens while people are just randomly sitting somewhere in broad daylight in a public area.
Oh yeah, Ayu also had a gigolo who basically forces her to do heroin and ra*es her sometimes. He had too much drug money debt and eventually begged Ayu to find a ton of money to help pay this debt. Conveniently, granny has almost all the money Ayu needs to help her gigolo out. Of course, tragedy has to strike again, and her gigolo spent the money on drugs and killed himself. Ayu just walks out and later doesn't show any sign that she cared that this happened.
Reina later gets robbed by the girls who hate her, gangra*ed by the male friends of those girls, and then gets the word "wh*re" carved into her leg. There is no reasoning as to why these girls hate her enough to do this to her. Did she steal someone's boyfriend? Is it because she is overly energetic? Who knows! The manga doesn't like telling important things like this because it is too busy trying to fit as many tragic things into the manga as possible to make the reader feel sad! This whole issue is just forgotten in later chapters!
Reina later tells Ayu what happened, and Ayu wants to avenge her friend! To do this, Ayu threw coffee on the main girl's head (how did she know this was the main girl?) and then stabs her in front of a huge group of people who just don't care that some high school girl was just mutilated in front of their eyes. Ayu later calls granny to pick her up, but granny has foot issues, and she fell while running over to Ayu, so her doggy comes instead.
Granny later tells Ayu that she had an "adopted" child with a heart illness, and Ayu tells the granny that she sells her body for money and that she stole like 1.5 million yen from her. Granny dies the next day for some reason. Maybe she really hated teenage prostitutes that much; who knows.
Fast forward, Ayu meets Yoshiyuki (Granny's "adopted" child). They like each other and start hanging out. His family doesn't let him out of the house often due to him having heart issues, so Ayu decides to take him to Okinawa because he wants to go there. When they come back, the police arrest Ayu and Yoshiyuki has a heart attack or something like that. Ayu is now not able to see Yoshiyuki and begs his dad to make him happy since she can't see him. Of course, to make the story more tragic, the dad says he can ensure that by having Ayu have s*x with him. Ayu then goes back to prostituting, catches HIV, it develops into AIDs, and she dies. The dad also kills himself, so we love a happy ending!
Art: 5/10
Typical shoujo art style. Nothing much to say here. I particularly dislike the cover art for the volumes, as it looks significantly worse than the art in the manga (which is usually the opposite).
Character: 2/10
Honestly, most of these characters are pretty shallow. Ayu's only personality is being a teenage prostitute who has the worst luck in the world, Reina's personality is being Ayu's friend that gets gangra*ed, and Yoshiyuki's personality is being Ayu's love interest with a tragic fate to make the readers feel sadder. Every other character in this manga are just plot devices that could be exchanged with literally anything, maybe excluding the granny.
Enjoyment: 2/10
I chuckled when one of the old dudes called Reina's private part a biscuit.
Overall: 2/10
In conclusion, this is an overrated and sad attempt at a tragic story that uses cheap plot tropes to trick readers into believing this to be a magnum opus of sorts. Thankfully, it was a concise read, but it is time for me to read the sequels and likely see the same exact thing all over again.

Mod Note: This review was originally posted for "Children Can't Choose Their Parents", which was subsequently merged into "Chocolate".
Well, I came into this story expecting a passionate shoujo story about a man and his chicken girlfriend. I got what I wanted.
The story is about a man named Mika who gets a new girlfriend whose name is Fabian. Mika tries showing off his love for Fabian but everyone he shows his relationship to acts how I would act, with bewilderment. The story was decent at best, considering it was a one-shot.
The art is alright. It is pretty good for a one-shot about a man and
...
his chicken girlfriend.
The best character by far was Fabian. Her luscious feathers and her entrancing stare will make anyone see why Mika fell in love with a beauty like her.
In the end, I somewhat enjoyed this one-shot. It wasn't good at all, but it wasn't terrible. It made me laugh with the ending which reminded me of a homunculus video I saw a while back on youtube. Anyways, read it if you have a chance since it is just a one-shot. You will probably get a chuckle out of it.

Do you like massive towns? Massive dongs? Well then, I believe you won't like this massive letdown. This manga is centered around a girl named Minami that wanders into a strange town that is mostly vacant except for a couple of strange individuals. This story had a somewhat interesting premise, of which is Minami's life in the city she stumbles across and her past. Sure, the premise isn't all that original, but it is interesting nonetheless.
Story: 5/10
The story is about Minami's life in the strange city she stumbles across and some bits about her life. The story had many plot holes, unnecessary things, and
...
etc. The bits about her life were interesting, and I believe it was your typical "my life was bad" story. Honestly, everything in this manga was typical and expected. Nothing in her made you want to finish reading it. However, one somewhat redeeming quality would be the comedy. Sometimes it makes you just blow a breath to acknowledge the humor, sometimes it makes you laugh out loud (rarely), and basically 90% of the time you just don't acknowledge the humor because the humor isn't humorous.
Art: 5/10
The art wasn't bad, but it wasn't good. The art throughout the manga is pretty simplistic and the quality of the writing is varied throughout the manga. Sometimes the art looks like a novice trying to draw "le cute animu gurl" then failing and sometimes it looks like someone spent at least a bit of time on it. At the very least, the art was bearable.
Character: 4/10
There really is no character throughout this manga. The only decent characterization is about the main character, Minami. She gets a few chapters showing her backstory and that is mostly it. The other characters such as Hagashi and Nishi just have certain gimmicks. For example, Hagashi gains random boners. Many of the characters don't even have names and are just thrown into the story.
Enjoyment: 4/10
When I read this manga I didn't particularly hate it, but I didn't like it either. It was just something to waste my time. I felt no need to come back and read in later. Literally 20 minutes after reading this I could not even remember the names of the main characters without going back into the book to see them again. I certainly didn't enjoy this.
Overall: 5/10
In conclusion, I can clearly say that this manga is not worth the read and effort to find the last 3 or so chapters. This manga could have been something decent, but it wasn't in the end. Maybe if you don't have anything to do then you could read this to pass the time, but there are plenty of other great manga that can do the same.
