I decided to re-watch this on a complete whim; I was having a rough day at the office and a Clannad hit was definitely in need.
Tomoyo Sakagami; The name just rolls off the tongue doesn't it?
Straight away from the opening scene I couldn't help but reminisce to the summer of 09' and I was only just starting to appreciate Anime, I found myself trying to reason with Tomoya Okazaki; Tomoyo was the superior choice in this Harem of the century, certainly it was clear. Student council president in the making, silver hair of an angel with a body to match and not to mention one
...
of the sweetest roundhouse kicks out.
When Sonohara makes his appearance I lost it, such comedic relief I must set aside a weekend to dig through the whole anime later, I had forgotten all the little charms Clannad provides.
From the detailed character back stories, voice actors betrayal, the above par animation quality, Background music that knows its place accompanied by the wisdom of how to read the mood and the love that was poured into a great Japanese mixing pot and directed supremely to form an emotional roller coaster that is Clannad.
Anyway I digress not much further into the episode I remember just how Clannad plays its game, it hurts, and at each turn your made to believe theres another path, but you cant just turn a blind eye, you must suffer through in hope of a happy ending but instead you get blind sided by such realistic tragedy.
My guide to watching Clannad is as follows:
curl up in a ball,
try not to cry,
cry a lot.
