Hanasakeru Seishounen

At first glance these anime have no similarity. But now that I have finished Guin Saga I found myself reminded of Hanasekeru Seishounen quite often. Both have policital and romance elements as well as action and adventure, also both are well written stories that keep your attention. I couldn't stop watching either until I had reached the end and both left me satisfied. If you enjoyed Guin Saga you will likely enjoy Hanasakeru as well but be aware it will take a few episodes of Hana to start seeing what an amazing anime it is. It's one of those plots that whisks you away in a completely different direction than you initially see coming so don't shut it off 10 minutes in thinking I'm nuts for comparing the two. Promise me! lol

If you enjoy Slam Dunk, you will likely enjoy GTO and vice versa. They are both classic anime comedies with a large fan base. Well written characters that you can't help but love and cheer for and a hooking plot that keeps you coming back for more. There are lessons to be learned and inspiring moments to be had in both animes. Overall, similar art and feel as well but this is also characteristic of the times when the animes were made.

Ixion Saga DT

The animes are similar, but of course different. Ixion Saga is also about a boy transported to another world, however he is not the leader, but becomes a knight chosen by the leader. The humour element is strong in both anim; they get you laughing. Kyo Kara Maoh is definitely the superior of the two, since Ixion Saga seems to fizzle a bit after a few episodes, but it's still worth a watch. Kyo Kara Maoh, however, stays strong the whole way through and never lets the fan forget why they're watching. There is also some cross-dressing/shounen ai-ish themes shared by both- but in both animes, however, this is not really a major theme and shouldn't really put off anyone who isn't particularly a shonen-ai fan, either.
