This woman has come in contact with Tokyo's manga. She is unclean and would lead we righteous ones astray.
My only goal is to attain complete gnosis over shit sol taste.
my general feelings on a piece of media are in the tags, a lot of my older entries have same tags and comments. Most comment entries are larger but are also likely to contain spoilers, so look at them at your own risk (or just ask me if they have spoilers if you care I guess).
The comments may also sound pretty negative a lot of the times, but that's really just because complaining about flaws is a lot easier than praising the good. Ie. if something is good, I simply won't have that much to say about it.
My rating criteria mainly centers around YMS's idea of every piece of media starting at a 5 and getting better or worse (or not) as it goes on, as such the distribution of media on a graph would (ideally) be bell curve shaped.
As such, there isn’t that much to comment on my particular usage of ratings. But considering I see people as generally overrating (in the sense of them considering an 8 what I would a 7, despite our opinions in the matter not being very different), I will provide short descriptions/conditions for a rating:
10 - (Nigh) perfect. Aside from being Great in its aesthetic qualities, any complaint that can be brought up is an unimportant nitpick. As of writing this I am still yet to see any such piece of media.
9 - Great. Truly remarkable, something I would recommend regardless of your specific interests. The flaws are few and not too important, but the work still suffers at least a bit from having them.
8 - Really good. Something that stands out and is of high quality. I recommend it unless it’s specifically something that seems uninteresting to you (such as a distaste of a genre).
7 - Good. An interesting show that I would recommend in case the premise seems interesting. Likely lacking in terms of writing and other quality, along with having considerable flaws.
6 - Above average. Check out only if it already seems like something interesting. This category includes either shows that have a handful of qualities that make them good and interesting enough to watch (raising them above a 5), or 5s that are raised by the virtue of having good presentation (examples include Nichijou and Howl’s moving castle)
5 - Mediocre. The default option for shows and the one retained for those who simply don’t have anything making them remarkably good or bad. Most of these are simply boring and a waste of time, so I don’t recommend them (along with everything below them). Rare exceptions are shows that are polarized by having very good and very bad qualities (namely, Kill la kill).
4, 3 and 2 - Varying degrees of bad. I don’t watch shows that seem uninteresting or bad to me so there’s not a lot of shows in these three.
1 - Other than just being terrible, it has to be abhorrent. In that I actually feel disgusted by it.

the episode that made me realize fruba was going to be special for me was s1e5 of the 2019 reboot, where kyo and yuki go and take tohru back with them to shigure's house, because i felt the moment was both very earned and very touching.
Once again got picked by a discord server I'm in for the anime nights (just like Ghost Stories now). The show was alright btw, although aside from the eyecandy being targeted towards a different gender/sexuality, I'm starting to see a pattern in these shows picking one activity or work or whatever and turning it into an anime with varying amounts of slice of life/fanservice, like Dumbbell Nan Kilo Moteru, Imouto sae Ireba Ii, Yuru Camp and New Game. I guess it's an easy concept to make a short show out of.
