Bakuman. (Anime) add
Preliminary (24/25 eps)
Bakuman really is the anime (and manga) for the hardcore and well-read manga lover!

The jokes and references to old and new manga (Fu-sion Ha!) will make you laugh or search out old issues of Jump. But even if you are not well-versed in all the mentioned mangas, you will still enjoy what is going on and learn a lot.

This anime/manga also teaches a great deal about the industry and how manga artists, theirs editors and the weekly magazines work. Characters in the story open up commentary on how the stories are chosen for the magazine, explaining the Jump questionnaires and decision making process, ...

It would be impossible to watch this movie without being well acquainted with the previous two seasons of Haruhi. You have to know what is different in order to follow the story. This is also a great story for those who are into the relationship stuff with the different characters.

It simply begins with Kyon waking up one day and Haruhi is gone, no one remembers her, and Nagato and Asahina are normal humans. I found myself pulled along with Kyon's tramatic experience of a world without Haruhi, wondering if he is happy that his life is normal as he always wished and mentally complained ...

Kai Doh Maru (Anime) add
Mixed Feelings
Lovely use of traditional Japanese clothing, very detailed and unafraid of the characters falling in great pills of robes. Really interesting drawing and color style. There also a wonderful use of color, where everything is monotones or almost translucent and then the bright color of the drips of blood. But, I can only be captivated by the pretty pictures for so long.

I'm not sure if i was lost in translation b/c i was utterly confused and bored. A semi-strong female character (raised as a boy, then a soldier) and a crazy female protagonist with two creepy twins. The Lord that saved her, i ...

InuYasha (Anime) add
I am forever confused by Why this anime is so popular and why it went on so long. Friends who have never seen anime get exposed to this first and I always pity them. If you are simple and like easy to understand story where you can jump in at any episode and know what it going on, (like Pokemon) then this anime is for you!

I admit, I watched the WHOLE anime from start to finish, even some of the movies. I love the beginning with a girl transported from the modern world into another, then finding she had secret powers (Escaflowne-ish); a gang of ...

I absolutely loved this fresh and interesting coming of age story in which the main character deals with not only a first love with a strange girl, but braty kids, corrupt government, being an orphan to a national hero, surfing the sky in huge human-form ships (like Escaflowne), Aliens, death, racism, and childhood heroes letting you down, all while trying to save the World!!

Beautifully written characters and story that keep you watching over and over again.

Gotta say, the visual metaphors for sex, virginity, and vagina (long hallways with peculiar designed door at end, holding a giant lotus flower inside... hmmm). Also, in ...

I loved the attention to detail of the drawing and filming style of this anime, especially in the first episode. Each scene is framed up very artistically, to match the main character's personality. Often having the camera set behind, looking through and in reflections of the objects in the antique shop in which he worked, often giving the feeling that we are one of the trinkets looking in at the scene.

The visual style is what kept me interested in the show, but the plot line got confusing as the main character (Eiri) is transfixed by the painting of Cossette, but then a Venetian glass. He ...

I really got into this anime, loved the characters and the world created, but all hopes and dreams smashed with the ending! I don't need a happy skipping into the sunset ending, but after seeing this anime I was not only disappointed but scratching my head (spoiler: A school for human vampire coexistence, but neither interacts with the other nor even knows they are vampires, AND Zero goes through this whole experience just to decide to kill all the vampires???).

My hope is that the love story is completely dropped (even though the scythe weapon of Yuki's is really cool) and Zero gets his own ...
