The issue with Hell Paradise isn't the animation or lack of originality. It actually has a pretty good premise, but the execution falls short.
Just imagine being deemed so dangerous that they send you to an island of monsters to meet your end. From a storytelling perspective, it's hard to think of a better starting point.
The most notorious criminals from the entire country are carefully chosen and dispatched to an island inhabited by monsters and gods in pursuit of the coveted Elixir of immortality. In return, whoever manages to claim Elixir will have all their sins forgiven.
You might expect these hardened criminals to be more menacing
...
in appearance, but you'd be mistaken. Most of them appear young teenagers. The biggest flaw of this anime/manga is that the island of gods and monsters fails to evoke any real sense of terror; instead, it feels more like a garden teeming with bugs. It's disappointingly uninspired. Even the main antagonists, in terms of strength, appearance, and behavior, come off as a complete joke. Honestly, the author of this manga should have drawn some inspiration from works like Attack on Titan or Terra Formars. Even now, I shudder when I think about those cockroaches or the entrance of the Colossal Titan.
Now, let's discuss the protagonist, Gabimaru the Hollow. Initially, he felt genuinely unique, but he quickly devolves into just another generic shonen hero. He's one of the deadliest killers in the world; his very name strikes fear into the hearts of people. Yet, his demeanor feels oddly approachable. Given his reputation, shouldn't his thoughts and actions be a bit more otherworldly? Even someone like Saitama, on a bad day, exudes more terror than this guy.
Furthermore, for the top Shinobi in the world, his fighting style and methods are disappointingly feeble. Prior to a fight, you'd expect a top shinobi to gather intel and assess their opponent's strength, then employ clever strategies or decoys to gain the upper hand. But Naa man, I see an immortal god in front of me, so I am going to engage in a bare-knuckle brawl until one of us gives out. I wonder who would come out on top.
As for the supporting characters, I'd rather not dwell on them; they're just too dull. However, there's one exception, or should I say two? The two brothers, Aza Chōbei and Aza Toma, are the ones keeping the show afloat for me.
There's plenty more that I found disappointing in this anime, such as the introduction of the power system towards the end of the season. Now, there's nothing inherently wrong with introducing a power system, but in this case, it felt unnecessary; it's akin to the Haki syndrome. "I hit harder with my new power, so I win." I mean, if you're just going to rely on brute force, do you really need a whole new power system for that?
Come on, find a more creative approach. In the case of One Piece, it could have been something like Sea Prison Stone. In the case of this anime, a strategic approach could have sufficed: devise a way to trap that immortal god and keep at it until he meets his end, as simple as that.
Alright, I'll stop here.

it was just Mid! (┬┬﹏┬┬)
Sorry, I am not a manga reader, so forgive me for my rude opinion. But this is what I felt after watching season 1.
They said it was the most unique show, but was it? It was Naruto all over again. Why must every Shonen character be a miserable, useless piece of shit before they get random ass power-ups out of no wear? Also, it doesn't help when the main character has the most boring, generic backstory.
Hell, it wasn't like Naruto was any original HXH coff, HXH coff, and for some reason, literally every shonen anime tries to copy Naruto.
Also,
...
why is it always that my mother and father died same boring, sad backstory?
Life can be miserable even without the same parent plot shit. Even a normal office worker who works 12 hours a day has a more miserable, sad story than the same boring shit.
Also why there must always be a avenger in every group of 3. Kurapika or Sasuke but at least Kurapika was cool. Aki is so weak that it isn't even funny, but I am certain he will soon get some random ass power out of nowhere. Aki has literally only 2 years left. God knows how many years he wasted as a demon hunter, yet he is fodder.
Power, She is pretty much Sakura; do I really need to say anything about her? She has pretty much done nothing up until now.
Even the basic premise of this anime is not unique; it is like watching Jujutsu Kaisen with less interesting characters.
Compared to average Shonen anime, the only difference I have noticed is that this anime is even more horny, seriously like Meliodas-level shit with extra disgust and an unnecessary shock factor like vomit in the mouth. Even Rudeus looks Saint compare to this lol.
Pochita should have taken over the body and the mind. It would have been much cooler to see a monster trying to live a life like a human and trying to fulfil his dead friend's wishes.
Also, what with the fights when they neither have strategy nor a great spectacle? If it is not fighting anime, then why are there so many fights? Even MHA, which is the lowest tear, looks good compared to this And no, I am not comparing animation; I mean, Chainsaw Man fights are so boring that even MHA looks good. For years, I heard it would redefine manga storytelling, but in the end, it is just Mid

No spoilers
Vinland saga lacks something.
I have seen 24 episodes of Vinland saga up until now. If I have to rate Vinland Saga on that, I will say it is a pretty good anime but there is something missing. As for what is missing? I don't know. I really can't put my finger on it.
Maybe it is the predictability? Vinland Saga is mostly a revenge story at least up until episode 24. and in these types of stories, the main character will either get his revenge or somehow fail to achieve his objective. in my opinion, both of these outcomes are pretty boring and predictable and
...
this problem extends to character development too.
Also, the fights and combat sequence were pretty mediocre. No, I am not saying they were not well animated, I just think that they were not that exciting. and look I am not asking for something like one punch man level choreography and combat sequence.
People say Vinland Saga sets a Golden standard when it comes to good Anime/Manga. Such a high reputation but does it really deserve all the praise it gets? or maybe I am just an early bird who doesn't know what he's talking about because he hasn't completed the series.

I never write a review until I am extremely disappointed or I am extremely impressed by the show or a movie.
in this case it is the former, I'm extremely disappointed. This season literally proves that this show will never take itself seriously and there will be no real consequences.
Our main character just got the power of resurrection. So obviously there is no real threat of any side characters dying, So Yeah there is no stake in this anime. Many other shows like Dragon Ball already have a similar thing going for them, so it is not something new but at least those anime have some
...
sense of build-up and tension. The problem of the Reincarnated as a Slime is meaningless buildups and fake tension, let me give you an example.
One of the strongest entity in this anime known as Milim she was being controlled by the evil mastermind known as Clayman, almost 2 seasons were burnt in showing this. long story short Milim committed lots of atrocities while she was under mind control and our main cast tried everything to stop the matter from getting worst. If nothing else, I thought at least this struggle was real but no here comes The lame-ass twist, Milim was just trolling she was never under the mind control, so she was never really the threat. So many episodes wasted building up that Milim is the only one who can kill the main character Rimuru, Yes he has the power to resurrect others but that doesn't mean a Jack shit when he himself dies. At least I thought there was some sense of threat for the main character Rimuru, but in the end that was also false.
Our main characters can't die, There is no real threat, The plot doesn't take itself seriously and Most build-ups are fake. So only thing that is left here is shallowness.
Also, how the hell did I forget to talk about the constant monologuing. Look talking isn't bad, but when you repeat yourself, again and again, it's not only gets irritating, but it also wastes the time of the viewer. It makes you think this show considers its audience stupid, most of the episodes were wasted because they had no substance to talk, Yet they kept blabbering nonstop for no reason.
I really don't understand how this show has a score of 8.4. it seems like nowadays standards are going down. So many mediocre anime reaching the upper echelon of 8 points.

Nitpicking over the science stuff is stupid because it is a fictional anime and making scientific things as difficult as the reality doesn't sound entertaining. So I don't mind senku pulling things out of his ass as long as he explains how he did it.
But all that said, this anime has no real sense of danger or any real sense of thrill, also what with the fights why are they so lackluster?. Season 2 is called a stone war, Yet not even a single person died. When you know that not even random fodders are gonna die then why would you feel any real sense
...
of fear for your main characters. This really is a fairy tale at this point hell, even fairy tales have more consequences than this.
On top of that the story is so damn predictable. You always know how things will turn out. There is no suspense that puts you on the edge of the seat. Good guys will win bad guys will lose this is how things always go. I mean seriously the bad guys are so strong that they can easily destroy our main cast without even trying, but our main cast has very strong plot armour For example, There was a scene where our Main character was building a weapon to beat the big bad guys and bad guys knew about this, Yet they wasted their time beating some fodders instead of rushing to the location and snapping the neck of the main character.

This is the Start of another Masterpiece.
I really don't understand why this anime is so underrated. If this was Japanese anime it would have blown out in popularity and would have gotten endless praises. This anime literally shows how other forms of animation are underrated compared to Japanese.
This is the story of the powerful five Elements and the world where humans and Demons exist. The Skeleton of this anime from the above may seem generic but when you reach deep Under the Skeleton things changes and you will see the beauty.
The real Appeal of this anime comes from the animation and the choreography of the
...
fights. Each fight feels like a fight between martial artist. This anime puts lots of modern day anime to shame when it comes to choreography. Compared to this anime most modern day anime fight scenes seem like a fight between savages.
This is my first Chinese anime and I did not expected this to blow me like this. I was never into Chinese animation and for some reason I never took them seriously. Thank god I tried this anime, it really opens a completely New Horizons for me.

I have seen plenty of anime due to this my level of expectation has gone up. I can no longer enjoy something which doesn't make sense. After trying this over praised anime Magi, I am seriously left disappointed, it started good but soon converted into another generic show.
My problem with Magi is that it doesn't know what it is doing, let me give you little summary.
Just like every other anime, main protagonist has some sad back story. in this case the protagonist's father is king, but he suddenly dies, due to this the entire kingdom has fallen into the hands of his evil big brother,
...
now everything rest on this kid's shoulders. He is willing to do everything to save his country, but he lacks faith which will be fixed with some lectures and betrayal.
After some serious struggle and a small scale battle, Our protagonist gained the chance to talk with his unreasonable brother who consider him less than an insect. The conversation Our protagonist wanted to have is, Plz as a king promise me that you will do everything to protect the life of our people and his brother replies is this is all you have to say to me.
(I mean seriously after all the things he went through, this is all he wanted to say? Did he really expect him to understand. Let's just say, your country gets taken over by Kim Jong, will you just march to his face and say please save us, please don't treat us like a garbage. Do you really think he will say you have opened my eyes, how can I have been so wrong.)
After some time passed, he gains some Shonen powers. Soon he does the same thing again. He marches into the palace and say this is a coup d'etat, just like that he has dethroned the king.
(Seriously, is this all? Is dethroning a king supposed to be this easy? Let just say if you lived under the British Empire rule, could you have just walked into their palace and say, I dethrone you queen.)
Seriously, this anime follows the horrible sense of logic, it is so annoying that it gets me irritated.

Really entertaining show. This show is must watch, if you love the crazy action and good animation.
I don't know what people are crying about, not every Shounen anime needs to be as complex as hunter x hunter and when it is, people still cry about the overwhelming exposition.
The story of this anime is pretty simple you don't need any explanation, but I will still give some context. It starts with the Fighting competition. The Group who has held this competition is searching for a certain person or something like that and then there is an Evil organization, who is also searching for the same thing
...
for some Evil purpose. If you have seen some Shounen anime you know how things goes.
When you have already seen this formula repeat million of the time, then why waste your time? Because this show doesn't waste your time, it skips most of the average cliched things and gives you the meat. Most people watch Shounen for good action and this show provides that, the choreography of the fight scenes are the top tier and the quality of the animation is just mind blowing. This show is 90% entertainment and 10% some boring fluff.
The blind hate this anime is getting pretty much reminds me of the early days of Attack on Titan. Literally everyone was hating it because it became way too popular. Seems like the same thing is going on with The God of High School. Yes, it is not the greatest adaptation, but it is damn entertaining.

The King of the shounen anime, but it might not be your cup of tea.
Hunter X Hunter is heavy on exposition. By this I mean they will give you a lot of heavy context. Entire episode can go in explaining small details. This helps you understand the fundamental rules. It's like a chess, understanding the rules is really boring, but when the game begins it is one of the most brilliant things out there.
But do you know what is the problem with chess? It is not everyone's cup of tea, rules can be tough to understand and it takes a lot of time and patience
...
to master the game. We live in the age of instant gratification, where things like, Fortnite, Call of Duty and My hero academia dominates.
Most shounen anime has this type of story.
The protagonist has sad background story, he is also useless and trash but somehow he has something, which makes him special. He is the pillar of righteousness, who can convert non-believer into believer. As the story progresses, he will get a random power up, which is definitely overpowered ability, but the trash protagonist doesn't know how to use it. With his hard work the protagonist will make That Power his own, but sooner or later he will get more powers at the top of that overpowered ability he already has. Then our protagonist will go and Beat some bad guys, who are bad because of their twisted sense of Justice. In the end, with the help of the power of friendship he will become the greatest number 1.
If you want anime which represent your boring and lackluster life, where good for nothing protagonist overcomes all the odds despite being a trash. Anime which make you feel motivated that you can also be something great. Then this is not your type show.
Hunter x hunter is not your typical shounen anime. Aftertaste of this anime will not leave a good taste in your mouth. People who suck in this universe, are usually the one who died first. It is like the representation of real life, no Candy coating, no talk no jutsu, no asspulls.
