Sousou no Frieren - On paper, it might seem like just another slice-of-life fantasy show with familiar clichés and story elements. Where it truly differs from others is in the emotionally distant character, Frieren herself, and how she learns to appreciate the present through her past experiences.
Frieren, being an elf with centuries to live, becomes emotionally distant from the short-lived people around her. Yet, spending just a heartbeat of her long life adventuring with such a group leaves a profound impact on her remaining years. There’s no grand motive or necessity driving her, but even long after their demise, Frieren continues to change—appreciating the people
...
around her, empathizing, and living. A relatively minuscule part of her life, which she once believed to be irrelevant, ends up making a huge difference.
This show beautifully reminds us of the value in our own lives—cherishing the journey, not just the destination. We’ve heard these truths countless times, but Sousou no Frieren brings them back to life with stunning animation, a beautiful soundtrack, and heartfelt storytelling. It’s a poignant nudge to appreciate the time we have and the people around us.
A true masterpiece of the current times. 10/10 Recommended!

Kiss x Sis fearlessly welcomes viewers into the realms of sexual taboos, creating a self-aware and entertaining world that refuses to take itself too seriously. The anime, focusing on the protagonist's encounters with his two sisters, his teacher, and her sister, proudly wears the banner of an ecchi comedy, delivering an outrageous and amusing experience for those who enjoy humorous escapades.
At the core of Kiss x Sis lies the taboo of incest, featuring Keita and his affectionate siblings-in-law, Ako and Riko. The series begins with Keita weakly resisting the advances of his step-sisters, only to consistently give in at every turn. As the plot unfolds,
...
Keita expands his harem to include other girls, creating a diverse cast that craves his attention. What sets Keita apart is his unapologetic embrace of his libido. He responds assertively to the advances of his admirers, providing viewers with a protagonist who embodies their own desires.
While the central focus initially leans towards Riko and Ako, the narrative cleverly diversifies, allowing other girls to take the spotlight and keeping the fanservice fresh and imaginative. Keita's lack of restraint and his willingness to entertain every member of his harem contribute significantly to the manga's success as a lewd romp.
Despite its success in entertaining with a wide array of provocative elements, Kiss x Sis never fully explores the complexities of its taboo subject matter, leaving a lingering sense of unfulfilled potential, especially with the absence of full nudity for the characters. This creates a subtle but noticeable disconnect between viewers and the protagonist, Keita, who often enjoys a more privileged perspective. However, this aspect may appeal to certain viewers' interests and contribute positively to the overall charm of the show.
Additionally, the lack of romantic commitment may disappoint viewers deeply invested in their favorite characters, as the show leans more towards being an ecchi comedy with a hint of romance rather than a full-fledged romantic comedy.
However, despite these criticisms, Kiss x Sis remains a standout in its genre, offering a unique blend of lewdness and comedy that is sure to leave a lasting impression on those who dare to indulge.

10 out of 10. Why? Because it does what it is supposed to do under the right amount of time which is DANG OVERFLOW!
I'll be it, the show is a hentai but it does its jobs perfectly than most of other animes in their own domains. No bullshit complex story, no side characters, gets to the point, no repeated scenes or frames, no skippable content. It gives you exactly what you want in the right dose. Not too much, not too little, just the right amount. Pure efficient use of resourses. Quality over quantity.
If you are still looking for something or anything wrong, then that
...
might mostly be with you for watching this in the first place. I know you will agree to that. XD

To the point and on the game - is my summarized opinion of this show. An even distribution of moe, humor, and ecchi goodness all tied together with the perfect seasoning of a story board, all when viewed by the intended audience, leaves this show at the summit of a true entertainment or is it?
There are only two sides to a coin but that can't be said for viewers opinion. Its often more than just good or bad that shows like Uzaki-chan wa Asobitai! and many others of its kind gets kicked around and bitched about for its use of ecchi seasoning, at the same
...
time, some admire the superb animation and interestingly satisfying characters. These shows need to be enjoyed with no brains rather than reviewed with a critics eye. Having no expectations paves way for much satisfactory viewing experience.
It is also well known fact that younger audience might find this show enjoyable in much different ways and newbies might crown this show a masterpiece out of ignorance, a veteran on the contrary might find this show pathetic compared to the vast world of anime his mind harbors.
Personally, I watch shows like these to burn my steam or to clear my head off work. The plot is thin, has light humor, very good animation, good voice acting, decent pacing and no beating around the bush episodes, all to say, the shows is interesting enough and fun to watch with a few giggles here and there, and above all, very very satisfying.
So, Is this anime good? Should i watch it?... well, it comes down to your preference ultimately. What you want to get out of this show? If you want something entertaining, to cool your brains off and prefers some ecchi, big oppai, slight humor, just go for it, you would love it... else.. please avoid this show and save yourself from bitching about it.
A good show watched at the right time makes it the best show. At the same time, a good show watched at the wrong time makes it the worst. I hope this was helpful and i could successfully guide you to either watching or skipping this show. You are welcome.
Have a great day! :D

[Short and Spoiler free review]
Shounen often failed to pipe my interest for a long while until i came around watching this show. When i had just finished episode 131, i really was at the edge of my seat having smoke gushing out of my head and heart pounding as my mind lost ground to the events unfolding at the screen. A true masterpiece of shounen.
Let me be more precise. Out of all the shounen i have watched so far, this is has been the most complete package. There is the typical shounen stuff - power mechanics, skills, fights, villains, you know it, and there
...
is something more sinister. Though the show starts all bright and happy, the story arcs which follow stirs up dark elements which made me cross check the age rating of this show. I think this should be rated R-17+. Humanity, pride, envy, survival, empathy, revenge, the story touches all of these themes at its highest vigor that you just can't help but keep watching in awe as the story unfolds most often in directions you don't want or expect it to. If you are the type who gets attached to the characters then you are in for one hell of a ride. I would say this is the best shounen i have seen so far and more shounen writers should incorporate elements from this in their works. The story progression is reasonably fast and very engaging that i often lost track of time during my watch hours. I do wish there were more seasons cause the story has such a huge potential to grow. Season 2? idk. i hope they make one..
I had one of the best times watching this show... i hope you do as well. Thanks for reading my review. Have a great day! :)

Edit: I wrote this review just after watching the show. I had high expectations all fueled by some new anime viewers and that clouded my mind which resulted in an outburst of disappointment. Now when i look back it wasn't that bad, it was just not good enough. Please keep this in mind when reading my review...
DON'T WATCH THIS SHOW!.. It's just a heap of anime cliches. The story starts with a survival game, with lot of super power, magic, martial arts, later only to become a high school anime hinting the 'friends are everything' vibe. Everything moves in a blink of an eye.
...
There is no reasoning, just presentation. Well that is indeed film making, i get it, but that's not good story telling!! There is a faint line between 'no brain' anime and 'dumpster fire' anime, and this has neither traits. What we get here is a show made for milking cash via manga sales from new and inexperienced audience by making them believe this is something great while this just a cliche pack and nothing more.
Art 4/10:
Very poor. Its like they expect the their cliche pack to balance out the lack of detail and animation. They even went for saving some cash by making very little OP and ED animation. Congratulations! Yet, the fight scene are done okay and some compositions are indeed good. Its like they did make an effort, but like its too low. Or was it all planned? I don't care anymore.
Sound 5/10:
I have to give respect where its due. The OP and ED are very good to listen. Its just disappointing it got paired with this show. The voice acting is very good, especially Nobuhiko Okamoto voicing Khun and Youko Hikasa voicing Yuri. Absence of audio effects and ost at some scenes were very disappointing.
Character 1/10:
The innocent, the joker, the serious, the smart, the all muscle no brains, the cool, the sexy. the loli, etc. In short, there is literally all types of typical anime characters in this show. It's really good, but it feels like an excuse for poor story telling in this show.
Enjoyment 2/10:
I felt so disturbed after episode 4 that i skipped ahead 5 sec every often. Towards the end i felt like this show robed me of my time. I didn't drop this show midway only because a friend suggested the ending is very promising, which i think is the only, and that too at the slightest degree, the only interesting part of the whole show. That ending made me give this show a 3/10 instead of a 2/10.
Overall: 3/10
I hope this review was helpful and either made you watch this show or skip it. Have a great day! :D

Looking for horror, thrill, blood, high school, massacre, horror? wait did i say horror twice? This is the show you might want to see.... is what i would have said except for the fact that they over did the 'horror' part and the story sucks so much that you feel like committing neck rope at the end of the series. (lol..That was just a exaggeration.. the ending is not something to write home about though).
Story: 3/10
Starting off at a hospital with the main character being suspiciously questioned by the newly met class counter measures committee brings ample mystery for anyone to keep watching
...
the show. He meets a girl, Misaki Mei at the hospital late night taking an elevator to the basement where the morgue is located. Things gets serious from there, mystery upon mystery, revealing little by little facts about his class and Misaki. The story is a thrilling watch, giving you icy fingers often and the confusion to stop, scared for the worst. The successful implementation of plot to suit the horror genre is commendable. But it lacks common sense and logic which i strongly prefer. All that being said, the ending was not my cup of tea. I felt it ruined the hype the show had build up till the end.
Art: 8/10
Absolutely spectacular. The dark overlay, dilapidated buildings, reddish rust stains, periodic puppet doll shots, sets the horrific mood imparting coldness and lifelessness to the plot. Art is one of the things that makes Another enjoyable as it is.
Sound: 7/10
Sound effects are mandatory for all horror shows and Another nails it perfectly.
Character: 2/10
Much like the story, the characters were pretty lame in my opinion. Taking the fastest route to home leaving the school, especially Misaki and talking about the occurrence to an adult should be the logical course of action for the main character. Instead, his actions are mainly in favor of the plot. It's more like the character is controlled by the plot. This applies to all characters.
Enjoyment: 5/10
The horror elements were the limelight of this show. I had to pause the video playback several times out of fear. So very enjoyable in this regard. But, the ending made me reconsider. It was no longer a show i would consider 'best'.

Edit: Reading this now 3 years later makes me cringe. Well i wrote it so i m keeping it... read on... hehe..
Lol.. as bad as it sounds, I started watching this show for some loli slice of life and moe to keep my brain in trance. Though the first few episodes satisfied me and made me thirsty for more, the later ones were found to be less carefree and more serious. Don't get me wrong, i like the show, but never did i expect seriousness in this loli, slice of life, 3 girl 1 boy setting. I never did. Yet the show makes its
...
point through poetic devices , delivers ample blushes and cute girls. So i am happy.
Story: 6/10
The story is quiet simple and understandable. Though it may be questionable to allow an university student to cater the needs of 3 girls and one among them being 3 years old all alone by himself. Come on, it's anime. Anything can be done to get a selling point scenario. But the story shows a more practical side of the scenario as they appear to struggle for everyday activities. I felt the story to be yearning for sympathy from the viewers. I couldn't enjoy the girls or the romantic side because of this very reason. The story moves at good pacing keeping a good balance between humor and things of importance. I especially like how a deeper view of the happenings in story was presented through fantasy dreams of a character. I would say the date episode exposed the true level of the story; it was beautiful. The ending was not to my liking, but may be contrary for many. There are lot of moral lessons in this anime that are of grave importance in one way or the other provided you think that way. Therefore, i personally enjoyed the story.
Art: 8/10
I watched the BD version. Apart from the blushing and glowing bodies, the girls were the best looking. At first, I believed the show to be a harem! The attention to detail is superb. The house, the shopping district, the school, the train station, every place is well drawn in detail. The color felt warm and happy, setting the mood bright. The night sky, evening, lighting physics are also praiseworthy.
Sound: 7/10
I listened to Japanese Audio with English subtitles. The voice actors have done a great job bringing out the best in every character. I don't know Japanese, but the voice was pretty decent and immersive. The OP and ED is also nice. The ED melody suits lot of moods, so i like it more.
Character: 7/10
There are ample many characters in this show doing main and supporting roles. The loli character is indeed an attraction. There is no over populated scenarios. Though the main casts are unique, there is not much about them. This does not become an issue since the story moves forward at a good pace as i had told before. The club members are indeed an interesting bunch. The monotonous talk is something that i will always remember. For the serious and sympathy demanding nature of the story, i could never think dirty of any characters, but i digress. This is not an anime to have dirty thoughts about in the first place.
Enjoyment: 7/10
Good story, praise worthy art, pleasing sound, diverse characters. But it depended too much on sympathy. The lead male should have made a better practical choice at least at the end. There is lots more to complain about the male lead. But that just ruins the whole story, so i digress. As an anime, this is a good watch.

This doesn't include any story summaries. Also no spoilers. So let's get to the review.. I mean personal opinion ;)
In a nutshell:
Ore Monogatari!! is a fun romantic story with ample moe, romance, reality, and relationship in different levels (if you think that way). It's all there under one package and because of its wide palette of enjoyment, many people find this show enjoyable to some degree, but doesn't like it enough to say that it had left an impact, for it is too wide as themes are concerned.
Story: 6/10
A refreshing and relaxing plot. Not a tear-jerk er or chair-grabber. But a fair romantic story.
...
The first episode was introduce mystery with the ogre tale, but we understand.. I was skeptical at first when the confession occurred at the starting episodes before exploring into individual characters. But it turned out to be rather great. There is a mix of humor, anime stuff, reality and bit mystery for some, which makes it a complete package. The first half of the series was the best part. I felt the later last few episodes to be a pain in the ass. I was bit curious about the ending; but the anime failed to entertain me there. I didn't expect much anyway.
Art: 6/10
A unique color palette from Madhouse. Not a fan of it though but acceptable. The pop'in colors suit the romantic mood. The character animation is little wired in way that its unique when coupled along with the unique color pallet. Not that its awful, but gets used to after few episodes. There is attention to detail and some scenes are well rendered. The romantic and expression scenes are flashy and there's is lot of moe theme visually going on, again makes the show unique in it's own way.
Sound: 7/10
Good voice acting. The OP and ED is truly awesome. The melody is catching for me. The humor scenes are made enjoyable thanks to the great effort put forward by the voice actors. It's not a break through voicing as a whole but is great considering the impact on overall enjoyment delivered.
Character: 7/10
The characters are unique and well established. Though the same cannot be said for all of them, some were under developed for obvious reasons. Suna being mysterious and silent is a great move considering the anime's success. The less someone talks, the more thinking can be left to the remaining cast and viewers, so the story can keep going. Some characters that appeared at the later half of the series failed to be as interesting as they were portrait to be. I believe this is because these characters don't 'fit in' with the main cast or the story associated with them was in short 'boring'.
Enjoyment: 7/10
As i mentioned earlier, the first half was very enjoyable. i laughed hard in most of the episodes. But the level of humor faded along the last few episodes. But overall, it was quiet an enjoyable show i could savor in a long time. Thanks to the art and voicing, the enjoyment was 10x.
Overall Score: 6.6/10
