Aku no Hana

Aku no Hana and King of Pigs share a similar theme of descent into darkness and it brings out the raw inner brutality of someone who is truly evil, while others are faced with a dilemma of watching themselves turn into monsters from a depersonalized perspective. King of Pigs is dark, and it is nihilistic, but if you follow that philosophy you might see the beauty of it. It is in no way meant to actually illustrate that evil triumphs good, it is just to show that evil is there, and some people handle its presence differently.

The story is a lot like The World God Only Knows. The approach is different, but still, a love diety (in this case, a cupid of sorts) watches and aids the MC in his endeavors with the many girls that fall in love with him. Each time he resolves the situation, they lose the memories of their romance. However, the memories they lose aren't the memories made with the MC, as those are real. The thing is that after they all share a cake with Haoyi, memories become implanted in their minds that leads to them feeling deep love for him rather than just being infatuated. Its THESE memories which are problematic because Haoyi has no idea what they're talking about and they bring it up in front of people. So, to correct that, he cures their curses by locking in the romance, and then the fake memories go away though they still may be left with love for him. Whats different for sure is that Aishen is LITERALLY A CHINESE CARTOON! But dont let that deter you because the art is absolutely wonderful.

Sora no Otoshimono

Sora no Otoshimono (Known as "Heaven's Lost Property") really IS Heaven's lost property for those who consider heaven to be an anime where sexy robots serve your every desire. However, there's more to it than just that. SnO throws a few great curveballs in the mix, such as BEAR WRESTLING and panty explosions. Because of other Ecchi comedies like MariaHolic and Softenni, I never thought I'd actually like SnO because that's the category it falls into. However, it is surprisingly sexy and its humor delivery is great, and does not recycle trash as much as MariaHolic did. In comparison to Chobits, SnO is equal to or greater than it in terms of sexiness. I must say, however, that I watched Chobits a long time ago and maybe there could be some things about it that I missed. Still, speaking objectively, I find it sexier because although its not as... near-pornographic, it certainly is direct with its sexual influence. However, the sexy stuff is not something that hits very hard, because the blow is softened by genuine humor. I wouldn't just recommend this to people who like chobits. In short, if you want Sexy Angeloids + MOTHAFUCKIN BEAR WRESTLING, give this a try.

Kyousou Giga (TV)

So, first of all Im going to say that when I was introduced to the 2012 ONA of Kyousougiga, I said to myself "this will be the new FLCL". Not in terms of popularity, but in just how it plays out. You are so over run with awesome and mystifying things that you find out later have a point and a deep emotional appeal. I was just so happy the first time i saw it (and ATT it was only at Ep 1 of 2012 ONA) that the Mirror Capital became a place I could fantasize about. Total fantasy is what diverges this concept from FLCL. Kyousougiga might actually just be going out even farther. Gynax uses a lot of experimental angles and shots that I dig as far as the artwork goes. Someone also said that there were "too many rainbows" but really there are a lot of colors that match and/or are complementary in terms of color theory and diadic harmony. This art style is what I like to call "scenery porn" because it makes mental masturbation happen from watching Kyousougiga. You dont have to know whats going on to like it because of this. However, its not vain. Its not all scenery porn and shiny things. There is a plot with substantial connection to my imagination.

It’s time to ditch the text file.
