If you really do care to read this, just know that I wrote this not to stand on a soap box but to just tell you all about me. I dont have a problem talking about my life.
My name is [undisclosed], and I am more or less a novice anime consumer. I recently started really getting into anime and manga after a long period of not watching any. Most of the anime I watched was back when I was twelve years old or so, but those arent really on my list. For example, I have technically watched Elfen Leid, Wolfs Rain, Haibane Renmei, and Night Walker all the way through, but I couldn't tell you anything about it now, so theyre not on my watched list, yet.
I guess I can say, based on my list, that I like a variety of anime, but more often than not, I will favor anime that has eccentric art and a psychological plot. This provides an amazing fantasy for me, and also gives me things to think about. Im not a worshipper of Shaft, but their bigger titles like the Monogatari Series and Madoka strike my interest very well. I also like Studio 4C a lot for their artistic visual expression. Its hard to say what my favorite anime is, but it would probably be whittled down to Monogatari Series, Kyousougiga, FLCL, and Kaiba. Theres something about the art and animation that draws my interest, probably because I create art and wish to get into GN/Animation/Storyboarding.
I am much more dedicated to anime than any other visual entertainment form. Western TV generally is just pure shit, and I find that its worth less and less to be paying for that stupid satellite dish that I only use to watch a few TV shows. In case you are wondering what shows I'm talking about, I mostly use it for Simpsons, Its always sunny, Gravity Falls, South Park, Star vs The Forces of Evil (I know, I'm a fag) and whatevers on AS that isnt created by Seth MacFarlane or his bitch, Seth Green. Which brings me to the point, again, of why I watch anime. People who dont watch it just dont understand. Ive heard a lot of people tell me that it's all meant for Kids in Japan (which is fucking hilarious when you really think about it). Even if certain shows I like are meant for kids, I like to take a moment and relax and just enjoy things. When I moved to the city, everyone was in 5th gear, growing up into the american mold. Top 40 artists, SWAG, and TV reality shows were actually somehow relevant to these people. It's not to say I hate social interaction and don't like people, though. I like to be eclectic in my tastes. I dont care about celebrities, or fandoms, or anything like that. I enjoy anime and manga for what they are. Just good stories and decent entertainment.
About myself, in regards to things other than anime:
I am currently a student at [Undisclosed] College, and am majoring in Graphic Design after a dramatic turn-around when I decided to steer away from my Chemistry major. The thing was that my family always gave me way too much credit for being the "science/computer geek" of the family, and really, all I wanted to do was create. I felt like chemistry was perfect for keeping up my family's expectations of me, while also being able to create things. However, chemistry is not that way for me. By the end of Organic Chemistry, I couldn't stand it anymore and I was driven to insanity, so I switched to an art major. Its not like GD is going to be my career choice either.
I also love music. I play the piano and the guitar. For a while, I had quit playing the piano, and started up again after I got out of a rut that caused me to be homeless and lose almost everything. And on that note, I also have a love/hate relationship with drugs. As of writing, I've been sober about 9 months.
That pretty much sums it up.

funny, i'd never expect japan to come out with something like that since reading most manga you'd think japan had no idea drugs existed
And yeah, I know I'd probably have REALLY liked Mind Game on acid or shrooms, I saw it sober (and without weed at the time! *sobs*) but I know the next time I watch I'll wanna be on a psychedelic.
You ever tried any of the 2C family of psychedelics, like 2C-I or 2C-B? If you like LSD and MDMA, you would LOVE those.
Anyway just wanted to say your review made me laugh and you seem like a fun person.
Now onto the review:
I find it hilarious that you think the anime should feel like the real world, when it is set in the future. I mean it's SF. And you think their tech is laughable but steins;gate's microwave time travel machine is not ? :)) (Steins;gate still it's base though). But I have to say one of my main gripes is that you have not seen the entire series yet. I really hate it when people make a review of an entire series, before it's even out in it's entirety. If you were to make review for an episode, I would totally understand it, but I don't think one can have a 100% accurate view of a show if you haven't seen all of it. IF you read the manga then I will give you a break because you know the story and you mostly have to assess the art only.
Have a nice day! ^_^
On S;G Wiki they have high-res images of the main characters with transparent backgrounds, you may check it out.
