Hello there.
I discovered the animanga medium around quarantine, I watched a bit of it then but didn't get HEAVILY into it until around 2 years ago. I occasionally go on binges of anime content and then quickly burn myself out. But I'm trying to consume more... consume consume consume. Saying I need to touch grass is an understatement.
My favorite genre is probably fantasy when it's done right, e.g Spice and Wolf, Made in Abyss, Re:Zero, Mushoku Tensei.
I also really love drama heavy shows, that's the entire reason why I believe Welcome to the NHK is an anime masterpiece. Things like Clannad, Grave of the Fireflies. I guess I love crying to those kinds of stories.
Anyways, I also enjoy isekai a crap ton. Re:Zero has already solidified itself as one of my favorite anime and I'm currently reading the light novel. I get really busy with seasonal anime that I rarely have time to watch the old stuff, so when I'm updating my anime list, it's to log the latest episode of a seasonal, not to log a completed show (I try to complete at least one anime show a week.)
I rate series based on how I enjoyed them. There are series that can be critically acclaimed and a have a cult following, but if I don't enjoy it on my watch it'll rest below a 6 or 7. For example Baccano (which had an amazing soundtrack, dub voice actors, and overall had the plot nailed down really well, but it just didn't click with me.) This also means if a series that is considered average or has less than a 7.50 on MAL happens to be enjoyable to me I'll rate it pretty highly even if I know it's bad. I fully acknowledge it's flaws, I just had a fun time with it and that's why it gets the high score.
