The similarities of both these anime focus around the two main characters. The main girl is a delusional character, know to have chuunibyou or "Eight-grade delusions". The main guy is someone who also experienced having that trait when he was young and now tries to get rid of it by starting a new life. However, having both main guys meet the main girls creates a great disaster! It's like the guy's past is still following him. The whole story revolves around how our characters deal with their conflicts and accepting what they really are and what they become.

These anime revolves around music, in which develops the traits of each character in the story. In Shigatsu, they use piano and/or violin and play classical music. In Hibike, they joined a wind ensemble and also play classical music. The characters strive for their best and overcome the difficulties they meet in order to play with all their best. They also join competitions.

- childhood romantic promise - forgets/has blurred memory of the said promise upon growing up - protagonist searching for the promised girl - girls around the main character - somehow reflects the personalities of the characters in this anime - also a good romcom. diff: In Love Hina, the other girls don't actually show their affection to the main guy (only the main girl is obvious). He's just serve as an "inspiration" OR a kind of "brother figure" for them. In Nisekoi, the girls show their affection to the main guy to the point that every girl likes him.
