Both works feature a protagonist who is drawn into a world of thrills, crime and intrigue due to events outside of their control, but rather than being swept away they make a decision to take a stand and push on forward out of their own volition. These are mystery stories where nothing is ever clear cut and one can never know who can be trusted. Both series feature interesting set of characters with peculiar quirks and art style is very pleasant to look at.

Both series feature supernatural monsters akin to vampires which are taken seriously. They are cunning, manipulative, absolutely ruthless and completely devoid of humanity. The antagonists are evil incarnate, but have complex backstories and motivations which make them three dimensional. You'll find more than enough gore in both works which is drawn in a very interesting fashion. It is not your typical "so detailed it is comical" but truly disturbing as dread conveyed through character expressions and shadow-work is used superbly. One key difference is that Shigahime also features excessive nudity while Noah does not.

Both titles are the new-wave "waifu eat waifu protec" monster-girl psychological dramas. Premises are extremely similar - a tormented protagonist is being "protected" from supernatural entities trying to "eat" them by a monstrous shapeshifter of tremendous power, however the said protector has an ulterior motive, which is to consume the protagonist themselves. Both series have extremely good art and a bit complex and not particularly straight-forward romantic element. There is a sense of doom and gloom premating both works suggesting some sort of tragic backstory and/or conclusion.
