Are you feeling adventurous today? Feeling like you want to try a psychological anime but you are unsure?
Well, you've chosen the right anime for that.
Aoi Bungaku Series delves into the different Japanese literatures and most of them are focused on drama, thriller, mental issues--just the hard-hitting and dark stuff. This anime really goes dark and I meant dark in a way where it did made me keep watching it non-stop in one sitting, it was that good, and I am surprised.
One thing to mention is how intimidating the first four episodes because I do think out of the other stories featured in this
...
series, the first four episodes were truly dark. I'm not sure if ANYONE who has a weak heart or cannot handle depression, suicide, and just the bad stuff from the beginning of this anime is out here reading this but if you can't--don't watch it. The second story that was featured after the first four episodes was just as good as well! It was probably that story that made me keep watching it! For me, it was the perfect amount of horror, thriller, and just.. uh! I can't explain it.
Although, I think after the third story (ep 9-10), the stories became a bit softer, not as hard-hitting as the first few episodes but it does not mean that it was bad, it was still good, of course.
And the story at the end of the anime was the cherry on top! It was the perfect ending to this whole anime. You see, they started with something so strong and dark and then ended the anime with something fcked up and strong too. The ending was fcked up but it was so good. I was truly worried whether how they're going to end this anime because I noticed that half-way it was not as hard enough, and they ended it with the last episode in such way that I can't stop re-watching it again and again.
Once again, you have a weak and can't handle the hard-hitting things, DON'T WATCH IT.
But if you think you can handle it, and you need a beginner psychological anime--this is the one.

If you're looking for something to watch to refresh your mind, this is the right one for you! It's easy to watch, it's not as bad, it's not as complicated, I think this is also perfect to some out there who had just finished watching very dark animes or action packed type of animes. It reminds me of Isekai Shokudou, the vibes are pretty same but as animes? No, they're not the exact same. I am rooting for a second season, I gave it a 9 for the rating because I think there could've been more to bring into this anime. I can't wait!

I personally believe that Horimiya could've had their anime adaptation five or six yeas ago then it would've been easier for me to like it and rate it a good 9 or 10. As someone who had read older romance or shoujo mangas and had watched several older animes, the plot of this whole anime is pretty much average.
The main couple's love story is cute, but that was it, their story is basically finding each other's 'secret' lives and falling in love with each other. And then the other side characters had a love triangle and it wasn't executed properly, I felt that there
...
was more for them and it could've been better. Thirteen episodes is not enough, maybe give it a 2 or 3 more episodes.
Although it is average, that doesn't mean that it is NOT enjoyable. It is enjoyable if you are starting to watch some good new romance animes, but if you're someone who's watched too many and has been used to many tropes before, this is probably just an anime.
This anime could be one of the good romance anime starter pack for many of the new anime watchers out there.
If you want an anime that's about life, love, and friendship, this is it.

THIS REVIEW MAY CONTAIN ANIME & MANGA SPOILERS!
This review will be based on someone who has finished reading the manga before watching the whole anime!
I remember learning that this will have an anime adaptation while it already had one back in 2001. I didn't watch that one for a reason that they changed quite some stuff and I guess I never wanted that kind of change because I loved the manga of fruits basket.
Reading fruits basket absolutely killed me! It was too good of a romance, comedy and drama manga. Right now I will start by saying that I personally think that fruits
...
basket is should someone's top ten fav manga/ anime romance list. The fruits basket manga for me was towards romance and personal growth of each characters. It's amazing to see them. But... overall my rate for this series is either a 6.5 or 7. Let me tell you why.
I used to read the manga 5 years ago and chose not read it again to not get spoiled as I was about to watch the anime. The anime is actually so fcking good, it's so good. When you look at it at the beginning it's like oh... another normal girl meeting men and stuff but it's not! it gets so much deeper and darker! it gets so interesting so I'm really excited for everyone who haven't read the manga and is currently watching the final anime. Because it gets so emotional to the point that you might ask.. oh my god-- it's over? you will WANT more. it hurts!
ART & SOUND was good for me but I think the openings actually improved for some reason. Maybe because I thought the first fruits basket opening was too dramatic for me. I never really looked at fruits basket as a dramatic anime but more learning about life and bonds.
Characters were actually good, I guess the arcs about haru & rin were rushed... or is kisa's and hiro's. I wanted to see a slower process of characterization just like yuki's or kyo's, I personally think tohru had an amazing characterization too. She's not just some normal girl from shoujo mangas or animes but she is ACTUALLY changing. She's growing! she's just as strong as her mother. I think I'm really impressed with shigure, he's so interesting although I 5% simp for him but he's just so dark! you know, like he's just so interesting, it makes me smirk sometimes whenever his real dirty side comes out either with hatori, rin or kureno. he has yandere tendencies idk why--
overall, I loved this anime but-- in terms of enjoyment I didn't really felt that much impact as before when I was reading the manga. ep 25 was seriously a bit rushed? maybe they could've added another more episode for kureno because he deserves it. For me, I firmly believed that there could be a parallel that if the god was hurting then so are the zodiacs too-- if akito is hurting then everyone should be hurting too. They can feel akito's pain but because of what akito had done-- I guess they just stopped thinking about her pain and just what they've experienced from her, but hatori and shigure knew the real akito and so is kureno. they knew, and this story is so deep... if you think this is just some weird ass shoujo anime-- you're getting it so wrong!

writing this review in APRIL 7, 2021.
THIS REVIEW MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS.
I cannot express how happy I am that this masterpiece was created but I was disappointed....
let's start with the ratings.
STORY. 9.
the story itself was already amazing from the hints to the symbolisms and so much theories about the ending or about the whole history of titans. at first, the story from the beginning reminds me of every shonen mangas or animes where something happens and changes the lives of the protagonist and its side characters but as the story progresses it became something more. the story wasn't titans vs humans to begin with...
...
it became humans vs humans or more likely-- the world vs humans. attack on titan also showed the reality of the world, there's no such thing as OP armor or something like that because every single character would or will die at every war or fight against the titans because it's the reality-- I will totally die if I faced a titan like that's some real shit. this is not some fantasy but more real shit when it comes to wars, people and fighting against the world. but.... sadly the ending disappointed me.
the ending literally was a lelouch move from code geass but make it so much sadder because mikasa was the only one who can't move on or is the only one who probably will never get her happy ending. EVER. but I still rated this as a 9, attack on titan was something else and the ending is just a slight disappointment for me. so it's not a big deal for the whole thing.
ART; 10.
I mean the art itself is amazing? I love how different the art is from other mangas, it's so different. so I'm pretty impressed.
CHARACTER. 10.
mikasa never had a character development who? or eren became a mikasa simp who? seriously, did we read the same manga? i believe every single character showed us their development and the reality of everything in terms of war. mikasa-- I believe had a small character development, she had to let go of him... it had to be her that will have to kill him. killing also doesn't mean ending something but it also means to let them go or be free. and mikasa did it for him, for eren. for people who are disappointed with eren's sudden 'simp' or selfishness when it comes to mikasa in the last chapter.... it just shows that he loves her and he will always love her. he wants to be selfish but he couldn't because of everything he had done and sacrifice for everyone that he loves and paradis.
also if eren was really the bird, then maybe it's a possibility that eren and mikasa will meet again... i swear isayama. please make it happen.
but like what I said... every character was good and had such amazing character developments. there's some characters I hated but it just shows the characterization as a character, right?
ENJOYMENT & OVERALL. 9.
I WILL MISS THIS. people will hate and tell you not to read this because of its ending or something but I think you should really try to read this at least once in your lifetime... it's totally a one hell of a ride.

SPOILERS AHEAD !!
my hero academia has to be one of the most popular mangas in the modern anime / manga industry. I've always seen my hero academia as that one popular anime only. in terms of the anime, I feel like the anime itself doesn't give justice to this manga. there's more to the manga that isn't shown well. nowadays I can't help but get scared of what's going to happen with this manga.
the whole plot and summary sounds too normal in my opinion. when you watch the anime before the manga, I could actually feel like 'oh.... it's another shonen anime where
...
it's a different world building' you know? but as the story progresses, it gets really better. it's too good. I feel like there's more but when I heard about the time skip... I knew that I didn't like it. I want a time skip for 2 months or just a year. I wanna see more and I feel like it wouldn't end well for me if they just made a timeskip THAT LONG. especially the WAR arc... it was drawn well. the characters are amazing and especially dabi's true identity as touya... it was TOO good. I saw dabi in another light thanks to that.
in terms of characters. I feel like a lot of characters are not appreciated enough. my favorite character is bakugo right now. the characters are very different individually and that's good. there's some characters that are always compared to each other but I just love how they're all so different. the world building is also good, but it's too flat? if you get what I mean? it didn't bother me tho. bakugo and todoroki's character development was amazing too... they were trying to change or to be better rather than other characters who changes gradually. I just love to see characters like them changing because they want to or they try to. it's very impressive.
in terms of enjoyment, of course I loved it. you should really read the manga especially when this is THAT good. but I want more. I need more from this series. it feels like a normal shonen but I gave it a ten because of how much I enjoyed it so much. it was good, it was enjoyable. there's some mangas or animes that has a really really simple plot or story but the twists and turns are good... it makes everything interesting. just like how coach ukai compared oikawa to a conductor you know. it's like creator to my hero academia. please do give this manga a huge try.

THIS MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.
this has to be the "air" that I've been waiting for. I've been watching way too much shonen or animes where there's always fight scenes. when I mean air, I meant that this series is like a breath of fresh air. It's very refreshing compared to ancient magus bride that also has air in it. this series is something else, I didn't want to believe people who said that this will give you feelings because I've watched something similar to this yet it didn't make me feel anything. but this is my first time, feeling such nostalgia or
...
sadness in an anime.
when it comes to story or plot for MAL ratings, this is totally a big fat ten. it has a different feel and kind of emotions. every story in each episode is different and was shown beautifully. the pacing was also good. episode 6 and 9 got me, it was really good. it broke me especially in episode 9. I need a season two, I know that there are movies but... I still need a season two.
ART & sound are both impressive. let's just say that this anime's animation and sound are both gorgeous! it's just perfect. the animation is so beautiful, and the sound helps to bring out emotions. it is beautiful. and perfect.
the characters are amazing too. violet broke my heart, leon was actually a well-written character too. violet is not just some character who doesn't understand feelings and then started to learn about them. she is TRYING to understand it for her major. but then she started living as violet and not as toy or weapon. she was well-written. she understood and not learn. now, she didn't just want to understand them just because her major left those words for her... she wanted to understand and be better. amazing character.
enjoyment and overall are both a ten. this was really good. if you haven't watched this anime, this will be perfect for you. you need to really watch this, this is too good. but be careful, it will make you cry. maybe not cry for some but at least feel something else.

I want to be honest about this review. THIS MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS TO SOME.
I was actually excited to watch this anime since it only has 12-13 episodes that will be perfect for me. The first thing you will notice once you watch this is the animation. it's CGI stuffy I guess? I wasn't used to it and I'm not the type of person to drop some anime because of its animation... it doesn't bother me. but the animation is really weird, but it's tolerable. that's why I gave it a 4 for decency. Now I dropped this anime within the 7th episode due to
...
these reasons:
- it's not boring but it's not interesting either.
- it's confusing.
- rather than boring it's more like "why am I watching this?"
I tried so hard to actually get into this anime but I still can't do it. it's my opinion, and people have different opinions sometimes. in terms of story, it's basically caiman trying to find where his head was. there are these sorcerers and cleaner, I got it. I understood but it's not enough for me to make it feel like this anime is worth watching. the story is not interesting enough. the art is tolerable, but it's weird. I gave it a 4 for being decent enough. The sounds were okay. for the character...... in my opinion, I don't think any of them were THAT interesting I'm so sorry. but they were fair enough. in terms of enjoyment, it was decent. this is supposed to be some comedy or dark anime but besides on how gore it is... that's all I could get.
would I try to watch it again? maybe, but.... I'm not gonna waste my time on something I can't really get into. overall it's a 4.8 for me. for anyone who is thinking of watching this, I'm not stopping you from watching it... please do give it a try.

THIS REVIEW MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS
I have read way too much shoujo mangas and here's how to summarize this as of now: "a normal girl who gets confessed by a popular, muscular high school boy who is part of karate team." and also she's a tsundere. you could tell.
I really skipped 5 chapters because I already know what's going to happen. I love it. But this story will be more cliche if they add a rival. But in terms of the story, it's good. I like this kind of cliche or cringy anime/ manga love story. It's just too good. ART reminds me of 2011-2015
...
vibes of shoujo mangas! like heroine shikkaku! characters seems pretty fair and normal. Enjoyment was a 7. still cute! you can start reading this but the cliches and cringiness might throw you off.

THIS REVIEW MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS.
I was very impressed actually. This is a good anime if you want to start watching sports anime just like haikyuu. If you're not sure if you want to watch slam dunk, this could be for you. This also gets compared to haikyuu so I'm just going to address this to all Haikyuu fans like me. I SEE THE SIMILARITIES BUT THEY'RE NOT THE SAME. Despite being unrealisitic, this is anime. This is an ANIME. Sometimes it can be realistic sometimes it's not. They're both good, but I've only watched the first season so for me, Haikyuu is a little bit
...
better.
STORY. 10. The story is good. It has a plot and each members have a goal to be the best team in Japan. There's just something about the story that really fires me up. It's good, really good. But, sometimes it's fast paced so I wish they could've made it slower. But it's okay.
ART & SOUND. 10. It's good. I mean what can I say? It really feels like a sports anime.
CHARACTER. 8. The characters and members of Generation of Miracles are awesome. A lot of people say it's just ALL about them. It's the struggle that Seirin have to go through, it's not just teams but the members too. If they can't beat them, they wouldn't be able to achieve it. Yes, it does revolve around them too but it's just... every member of GoM are good. It makes sense. Kise is developing but it's kinda fast, but it's still good. I am starting to like Aomine, he's good as a character. I wish we could be exposed to the other Seirin members just like Kuroko and Kagami. In haikyuu, all members are introduced and they all show their improvement. THIS IS THE PROBLEM IN TERMS OF CHARACTERS. It's like the whole team relies on the duo more than the seniors and regular members.
ENJOYMENT. 7. It's really a seven for me. I feel like there's more, I need more from this series so I'm excited to watch the 2nd season. Like I said, this is perfect if you're hesitating to watch Slam dunk, really good but it's not there yet.
OVERALL IN NUMBERS IT'S AN 8 BUT A SEVEN FOR ME. I guess, this is like the first season which means, BEGINNING, Just a taste of the characters and its story.
