what a beautiful story of longing and desire. searching for something that might never been. longing for something and not even knowing anymore what it is that you long for. chasing a shadow, being stuck between what is real, what was real, what could have been real and what might never be real. is it all a dream? it doesn't make a difference in the end.
as expected from satoshi kon this one hit different. a beautiful and touching story, complex characters, beautiful art, elements of illusion and fever dreams. you just wanna indulge and never look back. this movie is like the state you're in shortly

i loved this manga to the death, even if some parts of it were a little bit boring, i enjoyed every friggin chapter of every friggin volume. this manga contains some of the most heart-breaking stories i've ever witnessed and some of the most sympathetic and interesting characters. i can't WAIT for the second season of the anime to finally be published and i will definitely rewatch the first season and maybe even reread the manga some day. i know this manga is not perfect and people who read this will know what i'm talking about but sometimes you can't even explain why you like

idk man i watched that movie now and i feel weirdly depressed after that. i dont know what it is about those movies but they just leave me confused and unsatisfied. when i watched the first 3 movies i still had hope, educated myself on the storyline, tried to see through all this mess and understand the plot better. but now after the 5th movie where you would expect some kind of satisfaction and knowledge, it still feels unfamiliar and strange to me.
the plot unfolds in a very chaotic manner and stuff happens at random times and only in the end it happens to ... May 28, 2019

so good.. just so good
before the 3rd/4th episode i haven't even realized that this is satoshi kon's work but then everything made so much sense. you'll find a lot of paprika/perfect blue vibe in here and this series is 100% recommended to all fans of these two movies. this show offers many characters with depth and even if some of them aren't really likeable, they still stay in your mind because they have unusual or emotionally triggering stories. in this show nothing is ever as it seems, illusions, dream worlds and exaggerations are the main themes. what i liked about this show ->so much<- is ... i must say i didn't really understand or enjoy this anime in the first half and was kind of annoyed by the vagueness of the plot and the different time and plot lines. sooo many characters are getting introduced and normally i can't even remember 5 japanese names but with this anime i really had to educate myself in other ways, e.g. through reading wiki pages etc. just so i could at least remember who was who and what their importance was.
all in all i'm kind of glad that i finished this series because it did draw me in in the last 6 episodes ... Nov 6, 2018
tomie has an amazing artwork, as you'd expect from junji ito. i think that's actually the biggest value of the manga, you see tomie pictures everywhere on the net and it became a classic "yes i'm an edgy tumblr girl who likes japanese horror art ok?" symbol (myself included). people are getting tattoos of her because she looks so beautiful and mysterious. ironically that's what tomie and her story is about, possessing people and making them love her so it's cool to see that her presence is reaching out into the real world. i read the manga pretty much in one session and i admit

i am moved to the core, i didn't expect that it will leave that much of an impact on me. there was actually not one thing that i didn't like about this anime. yeah ok there were a couple of long philosophical monologues (and normally they bother me) but they fit the story and overall atmosphere so well. i really liked the combination of worldly themes, such as machines and human emotions, and supernatural themes, such as angels, parallel realities etc. but most of all i liked the music tbh, especially the ed (and especially that it contained 38746284713 different versions of the same song!),

Serial Experiments Lain

i didn't really like this anime, it felt pseudo-deep and full of unexplainable elements that didn't contribute to an understandable plot. i'm sure many of you will especially like that type of anime so y'all have fun with that.
lain is extremely silent and insecure in the first half of the anime and i hhhhhhhate those kind of characters. the colors and drawing style of the anime were also annoying, full of experimental ambient sounds, crossover between animation and photography, long-ass stares and freeze frames. actually i sped up the stream pace to add some life to this wash cycle. nevertheless i think it's great that this ... sooo well, the journey is over and i'm really sad about it. i loved this colorful anime a lot and it had a lot to offer. the characters were lovely and even side characters had something to love or hate about them. basically 2 boys and 1 girl go on a journey to find some mysterious samurai who the girl has some history with. if that isn't already a reason to watch this, i don't know. i personally am a huge fan of historical japanese content, but this anime brought it to another level. there were a lot of modern references, e.g. graffitti, beatboxing or

Michiko to Hatchin

michiko & hatchin really got 100% of my heart. michiko is the most badass female character i've seen in my life and i would really feel lucky having her as my protector. if it wasn't for some (in my opinion) important unanswered questions, i would've given it a perfect 10. the characters were amazingly individual and i personally could really bond a lotttt to michiko and hatchin and also to some other side characters. my two favorite things about this series were 1. the individuality of michikos outfits, every outfit was poppin and 2. the music. for those who love south american music and it
