Short Review:
Really promosing at first but dragged for to long with many problems
in between.
The first two episodes were captivating and I fell in love with
the characters and the depth and darkness of the show.
It would have been a masterpiece,
- If the author would just have kept the story short!!!!
...
Problems with the story:
Everyone is gay and wants to r*pe a child, which is highly unrealistic.
The banana fish arc was interesting but after that, two arcs followed
and it didn't make any sense? I don't get why the story was dragged for so long.
Ash was literally kidnapped every episode and he escapes just to return
to Dino.
What I liked about it:
The deaths of specific charcters that were just so sudden.
The comedy in it.

This will be a short review.
I like shounen. They are easy to watch. Short, "completed" Shounen are even better! You can just relax your mind while watching, you do not need to remember characters because they most definitely stand out by their hair colours and boy, what a colourful anime.
Story
Basically, we have our shounen boy who wants revenge and kills demons.
Storytelling
Not so great. I enjoy short stories but some details were missing, they were just added later on like a fact and it felt disconnected to the rest.
...
Eg.:
1. Tanjiro (MC) gets introduced with his mother and two younger siblings (it seems like they are the only ones in his family) but later on we see the rest of them.
2. Tanjiros father was introduced too late, should have introduced him several times before the spider arc (typical no face but sad smile kind of flashbacks).
Credits to demon flashbacks, they were interesting.
Sound
Really enjoyed the OST in the first episode. It gave an ominous feeling, but that was it, never heard it again.
Character
I still can't believe how Tanjiro didn't question himself at all knowing that there were demons on the mountain where his family lives???
Tanjiro had fallen victim to the poor storytelling several times.
Zentsui, the yellow guy, was unbearable. I just wanted to skip every scene he was in. He is such a loud character, I still can't believe how he got to be a demon slayer. Yes he is strong, but he can not possible work with his attitude???
All in all really flat characters.
Art
The animation is ok, I loved the animation in the first episodes, but it got ruined by the lame CGI animations (eg the spiders).
Top animation in episode 26.
The artstyle of the characters, I did not enjoy. They all look like they were shrunked into a smaller version of themselves. Childish looks and it wasn't because of their colourful hair but the propotions of their bodies. The main villain looks like a joke. His eyes are good but the rest doesn't fit. I really wanted him to be clothed in more elegant clothing, but he looks like a cheap version of Michael Jackson.
Enjoyment
Enjoyed it until the trio was introduced (Zentsui and Inosuke). It was funny sometimes but the anime could have cut some scenes out.
Overall
It is ok, it is not a badass anime, it has no great storyline, action is ok, comedy is ok, characters are ok.

Monster - a great anime, so they said and I didn't watch it in all those years. I kept pushing it away because it has 74 Episodes, which can be really scary for people like me, who are dying to know how a story might end.
So, here I am, finished it in a week and I am exhausted, but I need to write down everything I have to say about this anime.
This review will remain short, the score is more then subjective, no spoilers till mentioned (only minor spoilers).
This anime is for people who:
- have time enough to absorb a lot of information
This anime isn't
...
for you:
- if you want to relax after work/ school etc.
Story
This story doesn't focus on one location only, but is a complex telling of every single character in it. Comparing to Durarara, we have many people who are defining the whole plot, but unlike Durarara, Monster is more captivating from beginning till end. Every episode seemed to be another story yet they all made sense alltogether.
Monster reminds me of a big puzzle, were every 74 puzzle pieces emerge to one perfect picture.
The Storytelling was brilliant in my eyes. It kept going back and forth with each characters memories without being complicated. Without the storytelling the story based on its own would have been only "good".
Logic
Logic doesn't quite exist in this anime and here is why.
I myself live in Germany and even though they speak of two or three days in between traveling cities it was kind of confusing.
For example, Düsseldorf and Frankfurt are really far away from each other, then they jump from Frankfurt to far south Munich. After that, they travel to prague, which is far in the north and they keep managing this even though they are
1. wanted by police, 2. couldn't have enough money, 3. not changing their appearance.
-Minor Spoiler-
I tried to logically explain it to myself. Dr. Tenma could have had the money and back in the days Information didn't spread like wildfire, but I couldn't find logical explanations how Nina could have afford it to go to Nice and Prague.
Also, Dr. Tenma made me quite furious at beginning of the story. So many things could have been avoided if he just would have called the police. His stupidity wasn't bearable. Again, I can find excuses for his behaviour but it still angers me to the degree I could throw Monster into the trash can. Thank god I have finished this anime, I couldn't sleep knowing he was on the run.
Conclusion
Like I said the score I give is more then subjective. So many characters acted in a way, that it will make your blood boil. I want to excuse their behaviours and naivety because of how back in the days everyone kept trusting each other.
Also I want to mention my favorite arc of them all, the prague arc, most likely because of Mr. Grimmer. He grew on me and I liked his whole character.
Monster is long, but fascinating. Watch it, if you want but do not force yourself to watch it.

After the backlash in forum about how Fruits basket Final Season should be on MALs Top 1, I needed to know what all the fuss is about and I gave it a go.
Although I need to mention, that I have only finished the first season (obviously this review is only for this season).
This will be a short review.
There are just a few good shojo Animes out there, which are wholesome and I enjoyed them. Shojo anime like Shirayuki, Kimi ni Todoke and Toradora even though Shirayuki is the only one of them all, who respects female characters and give them personality. There whole Identity aren't
...
shaped up by the male characters, who are longing for them. So basically, Shirayuki is the one and only shojo anime that did great in terms of romance.
The problematic side of Shojo animes/mangas
I want to discuss the huge problematic side of every basic shojo anime or manga, which needs to be addressed more often.
The fact that
1. Female MC is shallow, characterless and her whole Identity is about being around male chracters
2. Female characters are selfless and dedicated to throw their whole life for men
3. Age doesn't matter, female mc can be a minor but still can live with a perverted older male character
And most importantly:
4. Female characters get se**ally abused/ molested by attractive men
For example: FC gets pinned on the wall, FC sleeps and gets nearly kissed by male character, FC always sees male characters naked, FC gets threatend by male characters and so on and so on.
Conclusion/ Final Thoughts on Fruits Basket
The only interesting thing about Fruit Basket was the beginning, were the folklore was introduced and the 24th episode, were "True Forms" are being mentioned, everything else felt so dragged and filler like, I didn't enjoy this whole mess.
My 16 year old self would have enjoyed the pinning on the wall, the se**al harassment in fiction, but after seeing what real girls are going through because some men don't know their boundaries, it makes you shiver in fear.
Women can't go outside without constent fear of harassment and here we have young girls thinking this is romance. It is in fact not. Now, know this. Every movie you are watching downgrades women and now it is time to bring this awarness to young girls and women.
Story: Folklore: interesting, everything else? No plot: 3
Art: 6
Sound: 6
Character: 4, shallow female characters, perverted males
Enjoyment: 3
Overall: 4

Only 12 episodes are out
This review will remain short, beware of minor spoilers
Story
Great. Better. So much better than the first two seasons. It isn't common for an anime to grow that much from season to season but Kingdom surely did choose a great arc to come back with. Like Li Mu promised, Xin still didn't know the hell of war and here we are now.
It truley feels like a seinen now and not like a shounen which, when I look back makes sense in a way, that Xin was naive to think war is a play to earn some title but can be cruel
...
for the people dying and loosing everything.
After Xin fights Wan Ji the Zhao General, I rooted for Zhao. I could understand where he came from and what he was fighting for. To think this is historical accurate gives me goosebumbs and makes me really, really upset. I loved how Xin had second thoughts but got it together after Diao confronted Wan Ji for not doing a big difference and here we come to characters...
Characters
The most, great character improvement we can see in Diao (even though there is still something that bothers me big time with her) and Xin. Xin grows out of his "being the great general" like the typical shounen sterotype to the wish of ending the neverending 500 years of war. This is truly admirable and links Xin more to Zheng than before.
Li Mu has also a great improvement. He doesn't stand still and fights Qin with all his might. Yes, this is historical accurate and that is why characters aren't too shallow. Li Mu is a great Character and I won't refere to him as an Antagonist, because in his story, Qin is the devil.
Overall
I really enjoy this season far more than the other two. The great animation does the story justice (finally!!!).

I keep this review spoiler free and short.
The second season of Kingdom surely does better in every way than the first season. I do not get the criticisim that the second season starts with mentioning Zengs past. We do need a background to understand characters. I still wish for a brief introduction of Xins past to know, where he really comes from.
Characters
Of the three main characters: Zeng, Xin and Diao, Zeng is the most interesting, Xin comes next but I can live without Diao. I still think that Diaos character is unfitting in the setting or should have been written differently.
Next we have Zengs right
...
hand Chanweng and his right hand Bi, I truly love both of them. You truly care more for the secondlead characters and generals than the maincharacters, thats why it doesn't get boring.
Plot/ Storytelling
I don't want to write much about plot because you can read a brief summary on this website. The storytelling does not however differ much from a shounen which is kind of dissapointing. It was much worse in the first season I need to admit, so we have an improvement.
I think many deaths were truly sad, even if it was an enemy that had died.
Still, like Li Mu said, we don't know the true horror of war and maybe that is why the storytelling is kind of naiv when it comes to war.
Also I like to mention, the show does a good job for not letting you root for Qin completely, which I enjoy.
So?
Kingdom gets better with each season, and Xin does get some improvement later.
Points:
Story: 7
Art: 6 (better than first season, but still cuts to 3D at war)
Sound: 5 (nothing I can remember)
Characters: (MC: 6, Generals and everyone else: 8 overall:) 7
Enjoyment: 7 (some war scenes were boring)
Overall: 7

Beautiful animation and art, what can go wrong?
Plot.
As beautiful the whole world of Violent Evergarden is, I had a hard time to get into it. I really tried so hard to enjoy this anime especially because it is hyped up on Instagram because of it aestehtic and vintage environment.
For what was promosing, the whole mysterious past of Violet, it was not mentioned enough but dragged out like old gum till the point I wasn't interested to find out more about her. And here we go:
Plot:
We have our main Plot, the past of Violet but it is not mentioned enough. The rest of the story is
...
episodic, so we jump from arc to arc and some anime can really pull it of like Samurai Champloo, because you learn more and more about the characters as you go while they chase a specific goal.
But what is Violets goal? She wants to be more human, she wants to understand emotions, she wants to write. This isn't a Story you can drag so much without losing it charms on the way.
Characters:
I only have Violet and her hot comander in my memories, everyone else I have forgotten and this speaks volumes. If I can forget characters that fast, they weren't memorable from the start. Nothing special at all.
So lets only focus on Violet.
What is she? A robot? A Warmachine? I want to compare her with Eureka from Eureka Seven. Eureka was only raised to be a Tool in war until she kills everyone in a village and three children remain under a pillar of human corpses. Her mind breaks and she wants to redeem for her actions so she adopts the three kids, who call Eureka Mother now.
Violet was a tool and that is it. I believe something happend to her too but I watched so many episodes until it became so boring, I needed to drop the anime. I wished we could have had a glimpse of Violets past every episode to keep us interested, but this wasn't the case. I am going to say, that Violet is a pick me, naive, shallow, emotionless robot, Mary Sue, Maincharacter something, a combination of nothing and everything I hate.
Overall
I have watched 10 episodes and appearantly it will get good after that but I really can't force myself more than I did
Story: Past: 8, Current Time: 3: 5
Art: 9
Sound: nothing memorable: 5

I always wondered what anime it was, when I saw the image of Kaguya dancing under the cherry blossom tree.
When it appeared on Netflix, I got really hyped for... nothing.
This will be a short review.
Story
About an alien that comes down to earth, gets raised by old village people and becomes so beautiful, that she rises up to be noble and rich
Plot/ Characters
I really liked Kaguya, I liked her realtionship with nature and more importantly with the old woman, which was like a mother to Kaguya.
But something went terribly wrong. After she became rich and the problem accures that noble men want to wed her
...
until even the emperor came and seeked for her,
we don't get a proper solution for that hot mess, which the emperor was.
little Spoiler
I was so disgusted by the emperor, I wanted him to get an answer, something to shake him up a bit, a slap to the face for example, something holy that wakes him up in his dreams...
Also, two of the most digusting characters are Kaguyas Father, who tries to push her to marry of and act unfitting to her nature and Satamaru (whatever his name is). He is married, has a child and still wants to run away with Kaguya.
I hated both of them (Kaguya and Playboy) so much in that scene in the woods, the whole anime appeared garbage to me.
Story: interesting but poor towards the end: 6
Art: beautiful and unique: 10
Sound: good: 8
Character: hot mess: 3
Enjoyment: first half: 7, second half: 3
Overall: too nice for my upset stomage: 5

As an history lover I came across Kingdom. After Vinland Saga wasn't what I wanted it to be (realistic, strategic battle/war), I looked forward watching Kingdom.
Art/Animation
The first thing, which caught everyones eyes was the animation, and it was not because Kingdom has a high quality animation, but it has the most horrible animation I have every seen since Ajin (Ajin was better though).
The uneccessary 3D, CGI Animation, the censorship ruined the whole seriousness of this so called "seinen" anime. I liked to drop the anime after I watched 2 minutes, but I thaught to myself, that it will be getting better, and I will get
...
used to it.
No, I didn't get used to it. It was easier to overlook because the anime constantly switches artstyle (from unmature to more mature, from censorship to non censorship). I can say, that the animation ruined most parts of the anime for me.
Genre: Seinen
When I red seinen, I expect an anime to be realistic, believable, as if it could have happend in real life. I really liked the fact that some events took place in history.
But Kingdom is not a seinen anime, it is a shounen.
While I myself can overlook the really bad animation, the realization, that the MC is an overpowerd, young boy, who is loud and annoying masacred the whole atmosphere.
There were points where I had forgiven him, or said to myself, that the MC grows mentally, I get dissapointed again by him throwing a bunch of adults in the air. That is shounen for me, not seinen.
Characters
MC, Xin, is not that great but nevertheless he knows, what he is doing. He isn't questioning to long, he knows what needs to be done, thats good.
Our king, Zheng is a great character, I love how quiet but clever he is. Everytime I thought I know what he will say based on sterotypes he acted different.
One scene however didn't fit into his character (when he got angry, after Buwei leaves the hall and Zheng acts like a little child having a tantrum).
Diao, the child doesn't fit in. I wished for her (its so obvious that he is a girl) to be more powerful and not childish (in the past "children" were more mature than children are now) especially, because she survived all alone in the most dangerous places in Qin. Pointless Character.
All generals are great characters, I especially loved Wan Qi and Buwei, I wished we could have seen more about the six great generals rather havin Xin has our MC (he really weren't that much of a MC in the Nuan Peng arc)
War
I want to talk about the Wei war and Zhao war (Feixin wu). The Wei arc started promosing and introduced us to the wu group building, also, how war really looks like (the long marsh, motivation, people dying just because they get trampled on from their own comareds). I enjoyed the Wei arc, but the Zhao, Feixin Arc was unrealistic. Xins whole unit survives even when they are clearly outnumbered? Not even one died!
Final Statement
It was not, what I wanted it to be, just like Vinland Saga. I hope, Season 2 will be better. Kingdom has definetly high potential but it was wasted because of poor, bad, horrible Animation and false genre potraying.
Overall
Story: 8
Art: 2
Sound: 5
Character: 5 (MC: 4, Zheng: 6 Diao: 2, Generals: 8)
Enjoyment: 5
Overall: 5, but thats to harsh, so 6

I will keep this review as short as possible.
JJK looked promising. Its art and style caught my eyes.
The reason I began watching was because of Satoru (he is everywhere on Instagram).
I watched 24 episodes and I still don't know, wtf is going on.
Heck, I still know nothing about our main character Itadori.
I want to start of with the good things about this anime:
- the Art is very nice and I love the animation
...
- openings are great
- I like how Itadori isn't a loud character
- Hanami was an enjoyable villain, which had an interesting goal
Things I disliked:
- characters are shallow
- fights between students don't make sense with the intention to kill each other (muscle guy and tsundere girl against other main characters)
- things aren't explained enough
- to many similarities between characters of Naruto
- Interesting aspects aren't mentioned enough (what happend to Itadoris parents? Why does Sukuna respect Megumi)?
- Itadoris main reason to fight is to have a memorable death
(could have been good but the execution is poor)
Main problem with JJK
Regardless of not explaining enough, JJK fails at Storytelling.
It isn't even bad, it is worse than anything I have seen until now.
Examples:
- why were Satorus eyes shown that early? It could have been more impactful, if it were introduced later. We know him now as that really strong guy and it isn't interesting anymore
- why not mention or show Itadoris past in some episodes or scenes to somehow get an idea, who he is, so that we can route for him!
- why not show more about that occupoccu guy, who is several mentioned with an accident that accured some time ago?
- Junpeis arc was the most interesting arc in season 1 but it felt to short and anticlimatic
And most importantly
- If a character comes back from the death, why not making it amazing
I get that JJK wants to be different, but it was the worst scene I have watched since Cerseis death on GOT.
JJK is a shitshow
Story: there is no story: 3
Art: Great: 9
Sound: Ok: 8
Character: Who?: 4
Enjoyment: Non: 3

And I am really nice with giving JJK a 4
