The story was rather unique, the premise of blood thirsty 'monsters' hidden in a human society isn't unique but the way it was handled was. The devils were similar to vampires but had enough qualities special to them that made them stand away from the clichés. There are also a lot of twists and turns and events that catch you off guard and blind side you so there isn't too much stagnation in the plot. My only gripe is once in awhile there needs to be a dull chapter or 2 that is necessary to set up some major plot points.
The Art was good.
...
I saw many complain about the art being bad but it is consistent, there is no same face syndrome, and it is it's own art style. If you were shown a character that show's up later in the story that you didn't know yet I'm sure you would be able to identify them as a character in Devils Line. A funny thing is that the author can not draw proportionate hands. I like to call it small hand syndrome. At 1st it annoyed me a little bit but later I found it cute. Not all scenes have the small hand syndrome though. I think a lot of the manga had to prioritize scenes where the art needed to be on point and the scenes where corners could be cut, which is very reasonable. Very quick trigger warning: there are scenes of forced intercourse or attempted forced intercourse, suicide, child abuse etc. Devils Line has some very dark scenes involving those so I felt the need for the warning.
Character: The characters all had their unique personalities and didn't fit into the common type of character troupes you always see. Also CHARACTER GROWTH! I felt like half the plot of this manga was based on character growth and not the typical character just happens to grow with the plot. Also, diversity. There were a lot of different couples with different sexualities and a lot of diversity in the couples. Minor spoiler: asexual couple, gay couple, lesbian character, gay character, cross dressing (male dressed as female but not the 'trap' type) character, etc.
Enjoyment: Easily binge-able and re-read-able. All I have to say about that.
Overall: I rated it a 9 because it was one of my favorites but I can see the different opinions on the different aspects of it.

So this is a 1 volume manga so if you're interested I would just go on and read it since it isn't a bad read. It is a typical shojo manga with some psychic abilities thrown in. The art style is typical of this mangaka and you can def recognize some similarities between her other works- which is fine just saying. I think the opening scene was very engaging and the ending scene was comedic. I was engaged in the story the entire time as it was a good mix of comedy and serious. Overall 6- because yeah like I said nothing special. What one
...
would want for a short 1 volume shojo manga!

A very typical shojo manga with some of the typical cliché- not saying it is bad, just saying it is what is expected of a shojo manga! As in a lot of shojo manga, the jealousy of the other girls etc is really really up there, the romance was slow moving, and there was a love triangle- like I said, a typical shojo. Of course it does have its own plot and the drama involved with the Internet friends was very interesting as well. The manga, in my opinion, focused more on the main charater's character growth and a little less on the romance. I think
...
this is good for a simple binge read! The art is identifiable to this mangaka and no same face syndrome which is good. I actually really like the way this mangaka draws eyes.
Overall 7 because it was good and I do recommend it for shojo fans but it really doesn't have anything extra spectacular about it.

I first read this as a young teen and am now re-reading it as an adult and enjoyed it just the same- I am specifically saying this just to say that it is good for a wide age range. The story was a rather typical shojo story. Nothing too epic to separate it from other school setting shojo manga in the term of plot. I love that the relationship was set pretty early on instead of 80% of the manga focusing on them being friends and gaining emotions and getting into a relationship more towards the end- which seems to be the more common route
...
(or what I read more who knows). I liked how it focused on their relationship and their growth in the relationship and gaining understanding of each other because they have very different personalities etc. The art- crisp lines, nothing really out of place. I think it is recognizable to the mangaka, which is always nice and no same-face syndrome. I liked the diversity in the characters and how they interacted with each other- specifically the main 3, but with 8 volumes I think there could've been some more character building with the re-occurring characters. Like it would've been nice to see Haruna have friends aside from her boyfriend and his best friend. I mean she is seen interacting with them as a whole group but never really one on one hanging out with any of her classmates- anyway with that rant over- I really enjoyed the character growth of the main two! And on a side note that I really don't know where to fit into the story- I like how the mangaka handled the 'hormonal issues' that Macharu has as a teen boy. It wasn't too excessive, rather realistic, and added some good growth to his character (ik it sounds weird but trust me).

The eps are only slightly over 3 min long so I thing you should just watch a few and see if you like it. The tone of the anime is pretty much the same through all 25 episodes so I really think it depends on your personal taste. It is mainly about a tsundere male and his girlfriend and about how his inner personality doesn't match his outer personality and he has difficulties expressing his love for her..The girl understands this and thinks it is super cute. There are other characters in it too that have some level of love/friendship to add some diversity to
...
it. So if you think you are into that type of comedic romance you should give it a try. I personally thought it was super cute and funny.

Story: There are a few plot holes but keep into consideration that the only work before this that they have done have been BL doushinji, so for a first manga (and one of its length), I think plot holes are forgivable. It is a very multi-layered plot and I like the whole military vs religion vs society vs ------ it goes on. A lot of stuff happening basically. I really like the way it incorporated it's own religion and world building. It didn't throw it at you all at once and allowed you to gently learn about it as it was necessary to the plot.
...
Art: The art is very identifiable to the artist, no 'same face syndrome', and consistent.
Character: A lot of character and relationship building happened with out main characters and there was also room for our side characters and the past characters. The platonic love between them all was great and even the villains were nicely fleshed out with interesting personalities.
Overall: 10- this is biased because it is my all time favorite manga for the past 8 years!

Lets lead with: 12 eps each 3 minutes long- 36 minutes of your time max. Skip the ending song- then it is like 20 minutes of your time so just do it. Probably could have it finished and have your own view in the same amount of time as reading the reviews.
Story 8: It was super unique! I think people keep getting caught up in the fact that the men are considered wives and arguing that this is a BL but really the creatures are not given verbal genders. You could argue that the twins are female (or they could be a trap lol) and
...
they still call the guy their wife. It is just the anime being quirky ok. Anyway the eps are short and the anime is short but it got the point across!
Art 8: It was consistent and just something about it was unique. Like I really liked the eyes. It was simplistic, which is really refreshing once in awhile!
Sound: There really wasn't much to go off here. with only about 2 minutes per episode (this is ignoring the ending song) there really isn't much opportunity for anything besides the typical sound effects. But sound effects were used in an appropriate manner and were enjoyable! Voice acting was great too!
Character: I just loved how all the characters interacted and the main character was so cute!!!!! All the character designs were simplistic and nice while being unique! They were all quirky as well!
Enjoyment: 30 minutes of laughter and fun for me personally.
So basically just let me say again- it'll be 36 min max if you don't skip the ending song or about 20 minutes of you do skip the song so stop reading reviews and just go watch it for yourself. It isn't horrible and even if you don't like it it is still a good 'wtf did I just watch' type of anime.

Story: So the story is mostly solving mysteries with the help of the psychic powers the girls have- specifically supernatural mysteries seek out our main character Ran through telepathy so they get caught up in it. Some of the stories involve ghosts, murders, myths, animals, etc. There is a diversity of mysteries that aren't very predictable. I would rank it higher except it was pretty repetitive. Almost every episode (some of them were a bit longer lasting 2-3 eps) was them solving some form of mystery one way or another. There was obviously character building and interactions as well but yeah. Also the ending two
...
episodes got pretty wacky. I won't go into detail but I think they should've just ended it on a more casual note with the same pace and stakes as the rest of the anime but instead they wanted to go out with a bang and created this enormous situation that seemed way to grand and out of place. Still had a cute ending though.
Art: Basic. Nothing bad or great about it really. The quality was consistent and there was no 'same face syndrome' which is all I ask for in an anime to be honest. The character designs were good too and it is nice to have an anime that doesn't give crazy hair and eye colors. But there were no scenes that were absolutely gorgeous or anything like that.
Sound: I liked having a main character with a kansai accent- that is not very common. The voice acting was good, though Rui really didn't have many changes in the pitch of his voice. I wouldn't be able to differentiate his serious voice from his happy voice etc. But he was a pretty mellow character so it might've been done one purpose. The OST was very well done as well.
Character: I loved the characters! They worked well together and each character had a very different personality. There really wasn't much background or character growth though, except for Midori. That isn't necessarily bad though, but for a 26 episode series they could've had a few episodes that focused less on the mysteries and more on the characters. For example: we almost never see them interacting with their classmates- only with characters involved in mysteries.
Overall: I think this is a hidden gem anime that everyone should give a chance and I think it is age appropriate for everyone!

This anime is definitely for a younger demographic- specifically 12 year old females- and with that being said I think the anime was great.
Story 7: It had a very basic plot with not too much drama, the main drama was the classmates being jerks sometimes. Relationships were established pretty early on and the plot was mostly about them, young 12 year olds, learning about it.
Art: The art was decent. The only problem is the eyes are large, wide-set, and basic and the eyebrows are just lines so when the animation on the eyes isn't perfect it is very noticeable. But eyes are often wonky
...
in anime and this anime liked to do a lot of still frame, dramatic shots.
Sound: Loved the voice acting. A++. The sound effects were meh and repetitive though.
Character: I think the characters all worked well together but there wasn't anything extravagant. They definitely each played one type of basic character and didn't have much to them aside from their one character role.
Overall 7: I consider 7 to be a good rating- I would definitely recommend picking this up if you like a cute, mushy, innocent romance.

So lets keep in consideration that this anime is 100% for a younger audience (specifically probably 12 yr old females). I feel like a lot of people ignore this aspect when rating: So anyway
Story 7: There wasn't really much plot development to the second season. There was some drama put in but essentially it was just showing the characters remaining as couples and growing as couples. That was basically the point of the anime so it fulfilled it's duty.
Art: The art was consistent and fine- my only issues was the wonky eyes. The problem is the eyes are large, wide-set, and basic and the eyebrows
...
are just lines so when the animation on the eyes isn't perfect it is very noticeable. It isn't the worst thing and is common in a lot of anime.
Sound: Voice acting was great but they re-used the same sound effects over and over and the sound effects were just meh.
Character: Some new characters were introduced and they added some variety to the story. There was also character growth but nothing too major.
