The plot is quite similar: for some reason the male/female protagonist has a scary face, therefore it is hard for him/her to build friendly or romantic relationships in high school. The main characters are lovely and the stories are nice (however, Kimi ni todoke is much longer with more characters and conflicts).

Both of them are really beautiful and sad love stories with tragedy and tears. The one, who shed tears is the reader though.

Similar topic and atmosphere: bittersweet, really touching josei love stories with tragedy.

Ririko and Shiharu the main female characters are really similar (nice and considerate) and their situation (working for the guy they like) is somewhat the same. Both of these stories are really gentle and lovable.

Both of them are the addictive type of manga and the characters are somehow similar in their crazy ways. Drama and tears are just in moderate amount and the story is nothing special, but somehow, you cannot stop reading. Give it a try and you will see, if you liked one, you will definately like the other!

Same mangaka so the artwork and the atmosphere is quite similar. Both of these mangas use quite strong metaphors: in Piece it is the bus, that means our choices between different ways of life and in Sunadokei it is the sand chronicle meaning the continuous flow of time and the passing of life. The main characters are different: in Piece there is a quite strong female character supporting the weaker, fallible guy. In Sunadokei it is the opposite: Ann is really fragile and Daigo means her support. Both of these mangas are addictive (especially Sunadokei) and you cannot stop till the last page. If you like one of these, you will definitely like the other one.
