Officially finished Blood Lad! Final thoughts?
3.5/10
I picked this up as it had been sitting in my Hulu queue for quite some time now, the art was what caught my eye when I added it to the list and to be quite frank that's really the only reason I continued on with it.
Plot-
2/10
It really wasn't that interesting to me, I found the show hard to keep interested in as I didn't find it really intriguing, the plot itself did peak my interest but when I was actually watching it, I found myself anticipating the end more than anything. I never found Otaku culture in anime
...
to be fascinating, the genre itself was honestly ruined for me a while back. I prefer every other genre than that. And even though it had action and comedy it truly wasn't my cup of tea.
Animation-
5/10
The art itself was nothing too special but it was pleasing! The fight scenes did really get me absorbed into the show when they were happening, I'm also a small fan of pop colors at random moments so I also did enjoy those scenes. But that being said, if I hadn't added it into my list years ago I doubt I would've watched it today as the art didn't really catch my eye as compared to other stuff I've watched.
Characters-
3/10
Once again, the characters weren't exactly interesting in my opinion, the only ones I truly enjoyed weren't even the main *main* characters, and that was Wolf and Bell. Otherwise, I didn't really enjoy them, I pitied Liz and Fuyumi more than anything, everyone else seemed to annoy me, especially Staz. I just couldn't click with them. If a majority of them didn't have dub voice actors I found comfort in, I probably wouldn't even like them as much as I do.
Overall thoughts-
I'm not saying it's the worst anime known to man, I'd rather go through this again than deal with the disaster that is Rosario, but will I ever pick up the manga? Maybe, it's at the bottom of my list. Will I rewatch this or collect merchandise from it? Nope! I might give it a try again in the future but it's wasted potential in my opinion.

wake up sleeping beauty is one of my favorite mangas by far, it managed to make me laugh, cry, angry, and overall very happy.
this manga's art is one of the main reasons why i bought it at my bookstore, both the cover and the description of the book had me wanting to read it within seconds.
Tetsu is not your average boy since his mother ended up in a coma after an accident he has been taking care of his younger sisters and father's for a few years now. he even has a job at his dad's work after making a bet with him. he
...
now works at the mysterious & creepy estate up the hill, despite being such a fraidy cat he manages to do a decent job around the estate.
one day he meets Shizu, the beautiful daughter of the people of the estate. the two grow close quickly to the point where he falls for her. but soon after revealing his feelings for her he discovers there's something wrong with Shizu. that she was born with a supernatural condition that allows different spirits to borrow her body. he wants to help her, but how can he help a girl that has never really cared about what happens to herself or just about herself in general?
this manga knows exactly how to tug at your heartstrings in all the right ways and make you laugh. this isn't your typical shojo manga. i definitely recommend picking up this manga when you want a good romance with a nice supernatural kick with beautiful artwork and characters.

i found this manga sitting on a bookshelf at my favorite bookstore, the cover caught my eye almost immediately and the description on the back made me want to give it a try.
at first, i thought with getting into this it would be a horror manga, with tons of gore and morbidness but did that change fairly quickly.
Taizou comes to the island to get away from japan for a bit but as he stays there not only does he start to fall in love with one of the maid Helena, he notices the island isn't completely normal. From tales of three witches to a snark
...
killing, this island is extremely quirky.
although Taizou is the main character the days(chapters) switch to different characters points of views, one chapter is could be one of the maids, next could be one of the kids from the sleuth brigade!
it's a fairly short manga, each chapter is less than ten pages at least, it almost felt like i was reading newspaper comics, that's the best way i can put my experience into words. this is the type of manga you can read while having a cup of coffee(or tea whatever floats your boat) and sitting on the sofa and relaxing!
and to top it off it's filled with a ton of other anime/manga/ etc references! who doesn't love good dragon ball reference every once in a while?
I highly suggest reading this manga if you want to read something simple for a change!

a month or two before i officially started the anime i read the manga since one of my friends had suggested it to me.
i was in the er reading this manga and this is the first time i had ever read anything by the author Gotōge (only to come to find out this is their first work)
i fell in love with the story itself fairly quickly, i am a family person so i quickly fell in love with tanjiro with doing everything he could to help his sister so she could become human again.
after catching up to the point where the anime ended i
...
binge-watched the entire season in a couple of days, and ufotable did animation beautifully and did each scene justice (except a few) but I will say this.
had it not been for the breath sword skill animations(and nezuko), I doubt this anime would have had so much hype.
yes this animation is incredibly beautiful but let's be honest, had it not been for the extremely amazing animated action scenes, I doubt most people would've continued it. who'd want to see simple demon-slaying with just cutting and moving here and there while shouting,"Breath of Water!"?
and let's be honest nezuko is the "it" waifu for 2019 at the moment, had it not also have been for nezuko's adorable desgin i doubt people would've continued it. don't get me wrong she's absolutely adorable and i love the cute caring nature she has but, there is such a thing as overhype, even though she gets much more to her in the manga, it's her simple "hmphs!" that has everyone watching, and it's like??There is more to a character you know? but the anime community loves their waifu wars
anyways those things aside i do highly suggest this anime(the manga more so than the anime) it's got a good story, good animation, and good characters. it knows how to make you laugh and cry!

one of,if not the greatest works by Inio Asano, this is one of those mangas you just have to read once in your life, the art style is eye-catching since it's so different from other manga styles, and the story itself is outstanding. without spoiling, i will say punpun is a character you can at least see a bit little of yourself in him. but i will say you begin to hate him over time as he grows up and the person he turns out to be.
each of the characters is extremely well written, they are like actual people and not like the simple
...
no flaws characters you can find in some mangas, they each all have flaws to them and act human, dwelling on mistakes from the past, doing things for oneself and saying you're doing it for somebody else, and thinking about murdering some random person.
and each panel is so beautifully illustrated i found myself more in awe with each chapter.
my review will not do this manga any justice it deserves, just go read the first chapter, you'll get hooked immediately because of the characters, art, and story.
