I first started this anime with high expectations, I haven't watched many shoujos, and I thought the progress between the couple would be faster, since it's a really short anime. So I was sorta disapointed once I realised the rythym of the anime, and imo it only got actually enjoying near the end. Getting to know Kou's background story really changed my view over him, he got a lot more depth. Everything that happened between Yoshioka and him after getting to know about his past felt a lot more meaninful. Episode 11 was beautiful, Yoshioka saying that she wishes that she could truly understand Kou

the rebuilds have been better than what I was expecting, the animation is great, the battle scenes are as amazing to watch as in the original series and in The End of Evangelion. Misato showed to be really important to Shinji's character, in some especific scenes especially. Shinji and Rei also had plenty of significant scenes, which many people might see as romantic love... but as someone that has already watched Neon Genesis Evangelion and The End of Evangelion the reason behind these scenes is already cleared up, but that doesn't matter.
Soundtrack was amazing just as in the first rebuild, on the final scenes, ... |
