Story - 7
--------
Short, good, fun story. I liked the concept of being trapped in a horror movie. Summer/Protag was relatively likeable. Nice ending as well.
Art - 7
--------
Pretty good art, not absolutely outstanding but it was nice to look at and kinda unique. Not overwhelmingly detailed but also not incredibly simple.
Character - 7
--------
...
Likeable characters, all fun characters that I wouldn't mind seeing more of if this was ever a series. Not super unique character designs, considering it's supposed to be stereotypical horror movie characters.
Enjoyment - 7.5
--------
I enjoyed this one-shot, finished it pretty quickly. Definitely a short story I would recommend someone check out.
Overall - 7
---------
This manga one-shot gets a overall score of 7. It is a pretty solid one shot that would make an interesting series as well. I wouldn't mind this being adapted into an OVA, either. Check this out, especially if you like Horror movies.

This review is only reviewing the 13-episode season 1 (K-On!), and not season two (K-On!!).
Story: 6
Although this is a slice of life anime- it doesn't necessarily have too much of a solid plotline although I would definitely say there is a story there. The story is easy to understand and uncomplicated yet interesting, which makes this anime easy and comforting to watch. Although it's not rich in plot, so for people who aren't fans of slice of life, they may not enjoy it that much. I give this a 6 because as much as I like the story of the anime that is there,
...
the story isn't necessarily a strong point in my eyes especially because of this being slice-of-life, although it doesn't hold back the anime.
Art: 7
Another gem from Kyoto Animation, you can always expect the art and animation to be good. Although the art style is nothing unique, I would consider it distinct enough that you can definitely identify it as at least a work by KyoAni. It definitely is easy to look at and appealing because of it's bright colours and cute characters, and it is supported by smooth, consistent, well-flowing animation.
Sound: 8
The sound I believe is one of the most important factors of this anime, especially because of the fact that it can be considered a music anime. Not only are the songs fun and memorable, but the scoring and background music is great as well as it accompanies the situations and anime well. The opening and ending are both great- I have grown to absolutely love the ending. The music may even make you want to dance. The music is appealing and easily likeable, even for people who aren't fans of rock, as the music isn't super intense. Although if you have an unfathomable hatred for all rock music, you probably won't like the music in this anime - still, give it a try though!
Character: 7
The characters in this anime are fun and likeable. They really are an important part of this anime, and if you don't like the characters, it will make your enjoyment falter. The characters in this anime are all female, I don't think I can recall one significant male character besides background characters, which as loveable as the girls are if you prefer more gender diversity in your anime, you may want to note this. That being said, the characters aren't what I'd call super unique, but they remain somewhat memorable (this obviously depends on how much you enjoy the anime). Characters in this anime also reminded me of characters from other animes from Kyoto Animation, an example being that Mugi reminds me of Miyuki from Lucky Star.
Enjoyment: 8
I definitely enjoyed this anime a lot. With good animation, likeable art, good music, and fun characters, it makes this anime quite enjoyable, and even more so considering I love the slice-of-life genre. I enjoyed it enough to give it a possible rewatch in the future.
Overall: 7
Overall, I give this anime a 7, close to an 8. It definitely doesn't have any major flaws in my eyes and is a must-watch especially for slice-of-life fans and also combines that with good music. Definitely give this anime a try.

This anime is one that is funny, cute, easy to watch, and also leaves the viewer feeling happy. With good elements to it, here's why I rate this anime deserves a solid 7.
**Note: I actually couldn't come to a solid conclusion on my own about what score to rate it, so I calculated the overall average by using the scores I chose for the individual elements of this series.
Story: 6
The only reason why this gets bumped down to a 6 is because of the fact that there isn't a storyline - it's episodic. There's absolutely nothing wrong with it being like that, but it wouldn't
...
make sense to give it a high score for story when there isn't one.
That being said, if you're looking for a series with a plot or consistent story, this series will let you down. In this series, (to my observation), in each episode the characters will have some sort of new situation, issue or such, or maybe several. That being said, this is a COMEDY series, so these "situations" and "issues" tend to be quite light. Given that, humour isn't entirely random, and it generally matches what's going on.
Although the great majority of this series has comedy, there are some sweet moments and a few moments that, depending on how you take things, could maybe make you go "that's actually a little sad...", but with these moments, it usually lightens back up relatively quickly, and it never gets outright depressing.
Art: 7
This story has solid art. It has good animation that flows well and doesn't look choppy. It has nice, bright colors, and a good colour palette. I would certainly consider the art and animation in this series to be visually appealing. It isn't AMAZING or anything, but it's more than enough to make it easy on your eyes, aesthetically pleasing, and make certain characters look quite attractive (cough cough, Kokkuri-san)
Sound: 7
Pretty good. Nothing outstanding. A cheerful and nice opening (it caught me off guard the first time, it's quite joyful but a liiiittle loud!) and a nice ending to match. There's good seiyuus, such as the well-known Daisuke Ono playing the role of Kokkuri-san.
As much as my Japanese isn't anywhere near great, I could still tell that their sentences are comprehensible and they generally speak clearly and the audio doesn't sound muffled or anything. The scoring is relatively good too, and there's also a pleasantly voiced narrator that sometimes comes in.
Character: 8
If you don't like these characters, you won't like the series. I liked all of the characters, and appreciated how different they can be but the interesting way they come together to form a (slightly chaotic) pieced-together family***. The characters in this series are funny and their remarks towards each other are clever, usually fit their personality, and are also amusing. With generally small cast, this series still manages to include some attractive characters, some adorable, and some normal looking characters.
That being said, although I wouldn't call any of them generic at all, but none of them have super complex personalities, tragic and/or epic backstories, mind-boggling traits or anything, etc.
***When I say family, none of them are biologically related - this anime actually, while subtle, carries the "family doesn't necessarily mean blood-relatives" message.
Enjoyment: 8
I liked it! It made me laugh, smile, even "aww", etc. I have no protests here, and I enjoyed it enough that I might rewatch it in the future.
Overall: 7
A "7" is not only what I got as the mean score, but also what I think this series deserves. It's certainly a solid series, although, at least to me, didn't have anything that would bump it up higher. I wouldn't be against giving this series an 8, though, but a 7 is better fitting.

This manga is one I definitely can say I enjoyed. The synopsis for this series does not do it justice.
Story - 7
-----------
The story was good. It wasn't absolutely amazing (to me), but it was good enough to keep me interested and encourage me to read on. When you describe the overall major plot of this series, it sounds a bit silly, but that's honestly one of the things I love about it.
This is mainly a "vampire" series, but it isn't a typical vampire romance where the vampires sparkle in the sun, so if you have expectations for a vampire romance story, this may
...
not be for you. The plot of this manga is relatively easy to follow. Now, it isn't spoonfed to you or anything, but it won't make you spend all your waking hours questioning what happened, why it happened, motives, etc.
Although, if it had to be improved upon, I would've liked a LITTLE more background on some of the characters.
Art - 9
-------
I absolutely love the art style of this series! Although, it may not click with you. It grew on me a lot. It isn't sloppy by any means. It does make the characters look a little odd from certain angles, but it's not necessarily annoying. I did have to take a longer look at some panels and be like "wait, what's going on here?" but there wasn't anything that left me super confused.
Kouta Hirano has a very unique art style, and this manga made me love it.
Character - 8
----------
This series has great characters. I don't give it a ten because these characters can be improved in (minimal) ways.
There is a certain character that doesn't click with quite a few people, and that's Alucard. He is, in theory, a "perfect character". He doesn't necessarily have outstanding flaws, but he is morally questionable, so I wouldn't consider him perfect. This is something that annoys some people, but it didn't bother me. Alucard is Hellsing's trump card for a REASON; that's why he overpowers everyone.
In terms of the other characters, they're great and portrayed nicely. If you want eye-candy, it's given to you, but if you're not looking for it - you won't necessarily notice. This applies to a lot of the characters (Alucard included). I appreciate how there's some badass, powerful female figures in the series, such as Integra.
Enjoyment - 8
-----------
This was a fun manga to read! I don't give it a ten, not necessarily because it was flawed, but just because for whatever reason, it just didn't reach the absolute peak of my enjoyment, if that makes any sense... I was a little confused at times which did affect my enjoyment a little, but I'll give Hellsing the benefit of the doubt and blame it on the translation I'm reading and the fact that everything confuses me.
Overall - 9
---------
I overall give this series a 9. It's not a masterpiece, but it's certainly a good manga that's worth your time. Give it a go!
Just as a little side note, not sure if this goes under "story" so I'll put it here. This isn't something that's noticeable unless you pay a lot of attention, but there are some minor inconsistencies with the timeline (when it comes to dates), but for anyone who's curious, you can consider about 98% of this series to take place in 1999, in the United Kingdom.
Anyways- thank you for reading my review! If you read this to decide whether or not to read this series, I hope this helped you make your decision.

*THIS REVIEW COVERS BOTH SEASONS INCLUDING THE MOVIE, BUT WITH NO SPOILERS*
The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya is a series that, understandably, gets a lot of hype. It did things different than other series at the time of it's time. Some people don't understand why the series got so much hype. Some people call this series a masterpiece. This series is more than just a moe Slice-of-life about a eccentric, bossy teenage girl.
Story: 9
The story for this anime is, obviously, one of the aspects that draws you in. At surface level, it looks like a typical high school slice-of-life with supernatural things thrown in here
...
and there. Suzumiya Haruhi is a fun series. It has many moments that will make you smile, it has moments that get you thinking and it definitely has moments where you think "Well, shit just got serious". As much as there is more to this anime than slice-of-life and it does sort of have a plot, it still is considered to technically be a SoL for a reason. Honestly, many people would agree with me when I say that sitting through both seasons is worth it for the movie, because the movie is THAT good. There's also quite a bit of foreshadowing to be appreciated.
Part of the story, particularly in season 2, follows an arc called "Endless Eight". where it is essentially the same episode repeated 8 times with minor differences. This arc tends to be hated although is canon and is quite important to the story for this series. I won't say anything more than please do not skip this arc, at least watch the first, second, and last episodes of the Endless Eight arc. It is important.
Art: 9
Obviously, since this IS a Kyoto Animation series we're talking about, the art is great. Even the first intro alone still looks amazing although being nearly 15 years old (As of 2020, the first season is 14 years old).
Although I will say, as much as it is beautiful animation and nice art, it still has that typical 2000s "anime" art style, so if you're not a fan of that, you may get bothered by this.
Sound: 8
Nothing about the sound necessarily stood out to me. Great voice acting, clear and easy to follow, isn't low-quality or muffled. Scoring and occasional background music was relatively good. Good intros and outros.
Character: 10
The characters in this series are absolutely great, and they are characters that are extremely essential to this series as a whole. Haruhi Suzumiya is eccentric, bossy, and a bit of a tsundere. Mikuru Asahina is clumsy, adorable, shy, but more intelligent than she appears. Yuki Nagato is quiet, reserved, and intelligent. Itsuki Koizumi is charmingly sweet, handsome, and nice, but slightly eerie and creepy. And, of course, Kyon, who the story is told by, is a mostly average but likable high school student, who is kind of done with everyone's bullshit.
This is the kind of anime that if you dislike the characters, you very likely won't like the anime at all.
Enjoyment: 8
I actually quite enjoyed this series but I started to absolutely LOVE it after watching the Disappearance movie. That movie makes you gain a whole new appreciation for the rest of the anime. This anime isn't heavy emotionally although it does have it's "Wow." moments. It does have it's much darker moments although it generally has a more positive tone which made me like it.
Overall:
Overall, this anime is great and definitely one of my favourite series and franchises. It is loved by many and I think that it is worth checking out.
ANOTHER IMPORTANT NOTE: This anime was aired out of order, so it has two watch orders: "Broadcast" and "Chronological". Chronological order is how the story plays out chronologically and Broadcast makes it more of a "puzzle" of sorts but mixes up events. With broadcast, you watch how you normally would. Season 1, then 2, then the movie. With Chronological, it requires switching the order the episodes here and there. Watching in broadcast has made people dislike the anime, although watching Episode 00/25 as the first episode does have it's "wtf" Both orders have been posted online. Chronological is recommended on a first watch.

*This is coming from someone who has not read any of the other parts of this series*
I was already captivated by this series by the second chapter. I finished this part in a day. This seems to be a very solid foundation to the rest of the series, and I am more than excited and eager to read the rest - you probably will be too!
This series, which has seemed to become a lot more appreciated in recent years, as popular as it is, a lot of people don't give it a chance, solely because of the art style. If you find the art style
...
of this series a bit off-putting, I assure you to give it a try, because you WILL get used it very quickly - I didn't know how to feel about the art style before I started it either! In my case, I absolutely love it now.
I had a lot of appreciation for the fact that (at least for me), this series is captivating and fun to read, but still remains easy to understand and follow.
The main character of this series, "Jonathan 'JoJo' Joestar", is a comforting character that some of us may be able to relate to in some ways, but he's also unique.
The antagonist, Dio, although handsome, is cruel and clever and, to describe it in modern terms, "has literally no chill" - which made me want to read on.
This series does get bloody enough to make it questionable in suitability to younger audiences and the faint of heart, so keep that in mind.
Regardless - everything about this manga pushed me to keep reading. I definitely recommend giving this series a try.
Enjoy!

This is an anime that a lot of people definitely won't like, but it's also an anime that you might love.
This is one of those animes that heavily, heavily rely on your own personal taste. For someone like me, who likes light-hearted stories, pretty boys, etc - I loved this! Although, if you are someone who likes action-packed shounen, chances are you'll really dislike this anime.
This anime is good - but calling it amazing would be a stretch. As a note, this is only the first season. There are more seasons.
Another thing to address when it comes to this anime is how generic
...
the "main character", Haruka is. She is like this for a reason, that one being so that viewers can self-insert, and also, this is adapted from game series, so since she's "generic" in the game also follows her into the anime. *Although*, it's important to note that this anime is much more so about the male main characters.
For me - I find this an anxiety-relieving comfort. I do not watch this anime expecting a thick, rich plot that will make me on the edge of my seat.
To put it simply - if you're unsure, give it a go. If you like idol anime, bishounen, etc, I would recommend it.

This is a great anime to watch if you're looking for something humorous, easy to follow, and short. This is a great slice-of-life anime, although if you are looking for something with a rich and great plotline, this may not be for you.
I finished this anime relatively quickly, considering I am kind of a binge-watcher. This anime can be finished in one day if you have the time, considering it is 12 episodes. I liked this anime for several reasons, such as I mentioned earlier, it's quite funny, and it's easy to follow, and I'd say you can pick it up anywhere and not
...
be too confused - although it's so short that you might as well watch it all! It doesn't necessarily follow a strict plotline at all, although each episode isn't necessarily just random events, because from the first episode to the last, things have changed. There is a bit of a romance aspect, but for the entire anime, it's relatively one-sided, so I wouldn't call this a romantic anime, and if you don't like romance, you should be able to handle it well.
Overall, I definitely recommend this if you enjoy slice-of-life, or want to give it a try.
