The MC in MTP knows what will happen because he time-traveled while the MC in ORV read a prophetic book.

The main characters in both anime are VERY similar—a tomboy with red hair who is very loud and strong. While Tomo's punches come more from embarrassment, Anzu's punches come from frustrations more than embarrassment. (They are even voiced by the same voice actor, who is amazing.) Both are romantic comedies based in high school. Both have a "childhood friend" love potential. That is about where the same tropes end. Tomo wants love while Anzu is running away from it. They are similar and fun with having differences that make the anime more like siblings rather than twins, if that makes sense, haha.

- school setting - romance - comedy - great comedic side characters (Kaguya-sama.... - Chika, Tomo-chan... - Carol) - fun characters on the brooding side (Kaguya-sama... - Ishigami, Tomo-chan... - Misuzu) - the driving plot is getting someone or both in the "will they, won't they" couple to admit they have feelings & both shows do a great job at keeping it fresh with the side characters/keeping the show more dimensional to avoid it getting stale and boring from the "will they, won't they" continuing on

- nerds romance (Yamada-kun... has the main male lead a video game nerd (the female lead is a newbie & Wotaku ni Koi... all 4 main characters of the 2 couples are nerds, with the main male lead being a video game nerd as well.) - The main female character is bubbly with clumsiness - The main male character is stand-off-ish with a cool demeanor Yamada-kun... is more focused on video games while Wotaku ni Koi... is more focused on manga and cosplay. (but they aren't limited to these areas:)
