Id

If you liked ID you'll probably like Chronicles of the Cursed Sword because... - a sentinent sword - a sudden beginning without much introduction - a chosen human changed into something much stronger and it comes with a price - sword & sorcery - awkward art - chaos deities, gods and demons Main differences are - world & character style and setting - one is more shounen-ish, the other one more shoujo-ish - ID might be more coherent and solid

I wouldn't call it the same storyline but there are some parallels. #1 tournament that decides who becomes "king" #2 superpowers #3 strong feel for justice and friendship #4 powers are lent (Ueki: from their god candidate; shaman: from their ghost) #5 A girl that decided to become the main guy's "manager" The rest is completely different though, characters aren't really similar.

Both have a similar feel. A strong female lead who in most cases isn't particularly conventional. The pace of the stories is very similar, the chapters are connected yet are somewhat episodic, in every chapter a new thing happens. I'm sure if you liked one you'll like the other too.

First, it's written and drawn by the same mangaka. It takes place in the same universe, with strange animals that can take the form of humans. Every chapter brings new things, those series will never feel repetitive or get draggy.

At first it doesn't seem similiar at all. But there is some things that connect these series and I probably only noticed because I watched them one after another (I watched Natsume immediately after Kuroshitsuji). Both have a contract with a demon who promises to eat them after all is done (or in Natsume's case when there is an opening.) In both cases the main lead is about the only one who knows about it. Furthermore the male leads seem similiar in personality, appearing adult, serious and short-tempered.

The main protagonists both have a tendency to act like "my life doesn't matter since I don't have anything important to me anymore" aka they seem a bit suicidal. The series both are very similiarily executed. They have a love for details, well shown hilarity and a nice dark gothic athmosphere. Both series have lovable characters who sometimes even act similiar.

Even though it might not look it at first both anime are kind of similiar. Both have strong-willed heroines with no physical strength, even though Shuurei is much more clever in my opinion. Both heroines have no clue whatsoever about love. Both turn out to be more than the cliche reverse harem and include political intrigue as well as some action and adventure. Both series show some unexpected plot twists. Both offer a great deal more quality than the Angelique/Hanasakeru series (thank god <.<). Both are reverse harem.

Innocent yet strong and capable girl gets thrown into one bad situation after another. Both protagonists fall in love with a man of nobility. The difference is that Red River has no gender-bender and Legend of Nereid no time-travel. Furthermore, Legend of Nereid is a manhwa. But mostly, if you enjoyed Red River (like I did) you should also enjoy Legend of Nereid.
