There's only one thing on my mind after I've had finished watching both seasons of Mitsudomoe:
FOR THE SAKE OF "MORALITY", WE HUMAN HAD TO GIVE UP ON TOO MANY THINGS, INCLUDING THIS MASTERPIECE OF A COMEDY!!
Right? If humanity could be more tolerate toward fictional 12-years-olds doing perverted things or telling dirty jokes, maybe we would have had another season by now.
I really can't recall the last time I laugh my a** off like when I watch this anime. The gags will rip out your stomach. The artwork and character reactions fits the story so well you'll laugh even watching it muted. Splendid voice acting. Brilliant
...
characters. There's only one downside to Mitsudomoe, that is it won't be able to please you if you're a Captain Serious. You'll enjoy it very much if you're used to the concept of dirty jokes/shimoneta in anime.
Just be sure to wipe out your memory of this anime before going to funerals and such.

Really, what a gem. This show has truly been doing its best out of what a cute-girls-4koma adaption could possibly do in every aspect.
Before I dig deeper, let me share some fun I found on Blend S's official website first. This thing - The Maika's Maika-lendar - has somehow become my daily motivation xD
http://blend-s.jp/cp/calendar/
STORY = 7/10. This is a little more than your typical cute-girls slice-of-life. It has good comedy with a touch of romance, along with interesting character motives and backstory. I especially like how they handled the comedy. We have the main girl, clueless and innocent, with her expressive vs. natural character problem.
...
Other girls and guys with their own switches to flip. All that contrast created a minefield full of misunderstandings and gags.
ART = 7/10. A bright and fluffy-feeling colour pallette. Cute but somehow cliched character designs. Nothing special, really. You might've seen this style all over the place already, but that doesn't mean it's bad. The animating is slightly well done imo. In addition, at times you'll be rewarded with Aiura-tier thighs. Oh how I wanna bury my face in them.
SOUND = 8/10. Character's voices suit them so well it hurts. Well there's this cast full of rising stars as well as skillful famous veterans afterall. So far soundtrack doesn't really have much impact. However they have really good OP/ED songs. Personally I think Blend S's OP is the second best this season (after Shoujo Shuumatsu Ryoko's).
CHARACTER = 9/10. The best part about this anime. Foremost, cute girls equipped with well-portraited characteristics and resonable amount of moe (this is important). Second, the guys. I mean, actually funny and interesting guys among cute girls? A rare sight. These guys should be put under national protection. They're all somewhat special because each one has not only one, but two "attributes" to their characteristics. Moreover, almost every character is an otaku to some points. Not creepy (like me for example), but enthusiastic and lovely otakus. It'd be way too easy to simpathize with them if you've had a bit of knowledge about anime/manga/doujin industry.
ENJOYMENT = 9/10. Yes, I might have favoured this show a bit since I'm a fan of CGDCT and slice-of-life. But I think Blend S is good both in its own genre as well as in general. It should be easy to tell from the recommendations section, that if you've enjoyed Working!'s comedic story telling and unique characters or GochiUsa's relaxing vibe and gorgeus artwork, then Blend S would much likely be your cup of tea. And also, cameos await.
Well yes, I did enjoy this anime very much. I did admit that Maika-lendar has become my daily motivation. But it's not like something inside me has been awakened or anything. I certainly feel nothing over having Maika-sama steps on my face, or glares upon me disgustingly as if she were looking at a squished cockcroach. Being honest here. Trust me.

Admit it, one of the very few good things that ever happen to adulthood is alcohol. It's basically a legal drug that gives you the power of unconditional happiness and the ability to enjoy yourself and express yourself to the fullest.
That being said, drinking (in moderation of course) is nice, yeah. But you know what's better? Watching a composed and serious office lady flip her moe-gap switch to the blushy-cuddly side as she got drunk, probably in the cutest way ever.
PLUS:
- Mrs. Mizusawa herself. What a lovable girl.
- And together with her husband, I think they're the cutest couple of this season.
- I'm sure
...
it wouldn't be hard for the ladies to fall for the diligent and caring husbando Sora.
- Some cocktail brewing tips at the end of every episode. Like, very simple ones. Nice extras, no?
MINUS:
If you seek interesting story or good comedy, i'm afraid you'll be dissapointed. It's pretty obvious since each episode is only 3 minutes long and doesn't have much to offer strict viewers. It's only a few minutes laid back before bed.
Personally i think with budget for a short animation, the creators've done a decent job. But harshly saying, story, artwork, animation and sound really does look mediocre.
Anyway, what should we say while enjoying this cute version of "Bartender"?
"SHIFUKU!!"

I have a method to enjoy this kind of anime. I watch them as if I'm watching Power Puff Girls (PPG is far better than this though). You know, not for the deep plot, well-developed story or gorgeous and animative battles, but simply because the cute girls are there, kyun-kyun moe-moe all over the place, unharmed.
PLUS:
- Many lovely unique girls playing around to please the weeb inside of you.
- Amazing cast. If you're into anime for a year or two now you'll regconize many familiar voices. Most characters are played by well-known and talented seiyuu.
MINUS:
- Well, shallow and boring most of the
...
time.
- Mediocre artworks, mediocre designs, mediocre soundtracks, mediocre pretty much everything.
This is okay, or maybe even slightly good to watch, if you don't expect too much and just want to peacefully pass the free time you don't know how to spend.

In this anime, you'll find siblings relationship that you can actually relate to, instead of the "imouto" type of characters that go ultra-moe around their "onii-chan". And that isn't the only thing this short anime offers.
PLUS:
- Good comedy.
- The art and animation look fair enough for a short anime. And interesting character designs.
- Nakamura Yuichi and Amamiya Sora as two MCs. More than enough for a comedy show.
MINUS:
- The color scheme is kinda plain. Make it looks like it's some kind of a flash-animation.
- This thing is for fun only so there are no plot to be expected.
...
And here're some wisdom:
"What is more important, pride or food!?"
"Food!!"
My, I'm gonna live by those words.

A friend of mine saw me watching New Game!! and smugged: "Dude, you sure don't know how a real game-developing workshop looks like." Right. It's not real. This is just some altered reality where designers sparkle with flower patterns, ADs go around smile and talk gently, and coders simply blush over a fatal bug. But who cares if it's not real? Or even, isn't it because of that unrealisticness that we are able to enjoy it so much?
PLUS:
- The art cured my internal cancer.
- Lovely style of comedy.
- A rare case of a "cute-girls-doing-cute-things" slice-of-life anime with actual character developments.
- Talented, pure and hard-working
...
characters. Make you admire them and adore them at the same time.
- Soundtracks provide good ambience-feeling. Mostly cheerful. The OP/ED is nice, too.
- They actually put in some tension this season. Not too dramatic, but enough for you to understand how hard it is to make videogames, while still having you enjoy the show as a cute slice-of-life one.
- Yuri hints. Yuri hints everywhere. Yuri banzai!!
MINUS:
- Sometimes it feels awkward with the cuteness-overload high-pitched voices.
- Ok, this is personal, but I don't like Umiko's voice.
I think if you can stop being serious and put reality aside, then everyone, from a guy who has no idea how videogames are made to a coding wizard with pitch-black undereye circles, can have this anime put a stress-relieving smile on your face.

The "cute girls doing cute things" kind of show has taken many types of setting: a data research club in Yuyushiki, or a theatre troupe in Hinako Note, or simply just high school girls small-talking and hanging around like in Lucky Star. Well, this is one with just high school girls's daily life, too. There are culture festival, marathon event, concerns about dieting and stuff... but with a little twist. This is the world where the mere thought of human with four limbs is a fantasy. The world with everyone is a myth creature, such as centaur.
PLUS:
- Pretty well done and realistic setting for a
...
fantasy world, in all aspects from history to biology and society.
- Peacefully slow-paced slice-of-life vibe, and occasionally heart-warming stories that helps you relax after a long day.
- The characters are adorable, each in their very own way.
- The art's nice. A pleasing colorful pallette, simple yet lovely background and well-balanced character design (about which i think they've done a good job since all the characters aren't even human to begin with)
- Just a little bit, but there are some yuri for those who enjoy it.
MINUS:
- Like many other slice-of-life shows, Centaur no Nayami has no plot nor developments.
- Sometimes the pace feels too slow.
- I personally don't like the voice acting and the OP/ED. Sounds kinda off to me.
- Those who are not familiar with anime concepts may find this anime weird. I think.
I feel like this anime is underrated, and it deserves more attentions, so I decided to write my first review ever. I think you should give this anime a shot if you're into plotless daily life of some cute shool girls, despite those girls being centaur, faun, or other kinds of humanoid creature.
