I'm Vietnamese. In my language my name is Vĩnh Thành.
It's kinda hard to pronounce for English speakers so my foreign friends just call me "T".
Recently I've started doing web manga and illustrations on Pixiv.
My favourite anime studio is KyoAni
My favourite anime genres are yuri, slice-of-life and CGDCT.
Same go for manga. And I'm also a bit into drama and psychological.
1. To see "Yotsubato!" be adapted in to a TV series.
2. To see a cute-girls-doing-cute-things anime with four girls voiced by Hayami Saori,
Kayano Ai, Hanazawa Kana, and Toyosaki Aki.
3. To see an anime opening/ending, or at least an official AMV performed by Coldplay.
I can enjoy any kind of food but pineapple, so people say I'm their relative and can't
devour my own kind, hence the nickname "Pineapple". Just sayin' in case someone's
curious.
Favourite color: white.
Favourite book: Wolf Totem.
Favourite band: Coldplay.
Favourite movie: The Secret Life of Walter Mitty - and favourite actor: Ben Stiller.
Favourite game genre: survival - and favourite game: Don't Starve.
My job: I work at a local television station as an editor and tech support.
I like: being alone and sweets.
I hate: pineapple and crowded places.
Hi, I'm tidying up my friend list here on MAL since the majority of them just send random friend requests and never speak with you afterwards. I ended up accepting a lot of them, but there is no point if we don't interact.
So, there's is almost 3 years since the last time that you logged in, so I think that is safe to assume that you are not coming back to this website. Therefore I will be removing you from my friends list here on MAL. However, if you end up coming back, do get in touch with me, please. I really enjoyed the short conversations that we had before you quitting MAL.
So that's why you mentioned 2 years u.u
Was thinking the same thing, I mean, I feel that is a great way to test what you know and to practice it, but if what you don't know much, I don't think that there's a point to it. I find really strange to see it recommend it as much as I do. For me, Youtube videos will do for now! Having lots of fun with them :3
I remember installing that app but since I never used it, I ended up uninstalling it!! T_T Going to try it today!!
I am aware of jisho.org and it probably is what I will be using the most. It seems really popular u.u
No problem =w=)b
Btw, are you aware of Wanikani? It's a website to learn kanji and vocab. I honestly think that it's great. Not sure if it's something that you are interested in, or even need, considering that you have been studying for a while... But, I still recommend checking it out, just in case. It teaches you this much:
You will be able to read over 2,000 kanji and 6,000 Japanese vocabulary words. The kanji you learn includes most of the Joyo kanji, but not all of them. Some Joyo kanji aren’t that useful, and some non-Joyo kanji are very useful! Our list was created around usefulness.
hehe that leaves me quite excited!! :3 I actually bought the first two volumes of Yotsubato in Japanese!! \o/ ... It still didn't arrive though :/ ... and it probably will still take a while considering that Christmass is right around the corner :/
... But, I'm really excited to give it a try when it arrives! Maybe it will be too soon, but I'm really curious to see how well (or badly ;-;) I will handle it! :3
Wow!! That seems amazing!! T^T Indeed... Here is the opposite of that ;_;
...Though, I will be moving to London, so maybe it's better there? I want to at least watch an anime movie on cinemas!! >_<
"they had to make it shorter because of the scandal" Σ(゜ロ゜;) ... What scandal?!?!
I still have to awaken that ability haha Though, I still like harems... For example, I read "Bokutachi wa Benkyou ga Dekinai" since it started being published and I love it. Wait, just realized that isn't tagged as a Harem... Nevermind then... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
lol, it can't be bad! u.u
Really too late, but good luck! (kinda sorry ^^;) How it went?
I finished Ballroom e Youkoso... It was so damn good! Nevermind what I said, I ended up loving it by the end. T^T
I just feel bad because I am avoiding manga since I want to only start manga in Japanese... Which it will take me years to be able to read stuff like this!! Not sure if I should rethink this!!
Wow, isn't that kinda quick? Only 2 years and you are already able to keep up with stuff from JLPT3. Have you done any JLPT btw?
Hmmm... I keep on hearing that watching anime without subtitles is really helpful. Since you use anime to practice, do you watch it without subtitles?
I started following some Japanese youtubers for listening practice... Do you watch any, and if so, do you have any recommendation? e.e
If you don't mind me asking, how do you study and what do you use?
As for me, I was using Genki but after 2 whole months, I finally realized that I should be learning the Kanji, which I totally wasn't... So, there I was halfway through the book and barely knew any kanji, so I started using Wanikani while putting Genki on-hold. I want to learn a bit more Kanji before going back to Genki. I feel like it will be better this way since I won't have to focus on Kanji and Vocab (at least not as much), and I can just focus on grammar.
If you have some tips to share, please do share them =w=)b
Hmmm... Can you read manga, light novels, etc in Japanese at the level that you are right now?
... and I will stop the questions here. This is starting to seem like some sort of weird quiz haha I'm really curious about this >_< ...and also want to learn stuff that might help me ^^;
I totally ruined your excitement... Sorry!!
Have you ever experienced those times when you are full of hopes, dreams and excitement expecting the greatest anime that ever was created (may be exaggerating a little here haha) for then to be so disappointing that you even lose all hope in humanity? :')
It kinda seemed that would happen to you so I wanted to lower your expectations a bit... :'D I still think that it's a good anime, like you mentioned, the character design are great! I really like them :3 Though, this is my opinion but they usually have the bodies of characters bending a bit too much... It can be a little off-putting for some people. I don't think that it bothers me anymore though...
That seems pretty awesome :3 ... Is manga more common there? or your family just happened to read it?
Where I live people don't even know what manga is T^T
haha feeling nostalgic is good =w=)b
Wait, I didn't drop it. I put it on-hold for later u.u
From the little that I watched I got that impression haha
Wow, I wish to have an angel of eargasm, no, I wish that everyone had an angel of eargasm!! \o/ lol xD
True for all that! hehe =w=)b
This remembers me that I still have to watch the second season of Hibike! Euphonium ^^;
I think that way too u.u Nothing good comes from feeling pressured to reply, so take your time too! =w=)b
Wow, just realized that!! Apparently, you are 7 hours ahead of me! Wait, it's almost 2am of Saturday there!! Wow! Only 7pm of Friday here =w=)b hehe
Edt: Ups, just realized that I forgot to reply the Silver Link question... ^^;
I agree with you, they do make some SoL that I really enjoy :3 Like, Non Non Biyori or Tanaka-kun wa Itsumo Kedaruge. Both had these relaxing atmosphere and good comedy. Not extravagant and really sweet.
Though, they also have the tendency to make harems... Some I like, and others I don't ^^; For example, I did not enjoy Masamune-kun no Revenge or Strike the Blood while I enjoyed Oniichan dakedo Ai sae Areba Kankeinai yo ne!.
... and of course I also enjoy their Fate/kaleid =w=)b
Plus they also can make more "serious" anime like Kokoro Connect or Tasogare Otome x Amnesia, which were both really good imo.
... you asked about the studio and I ended up telling you the anime that I enjoyed from them :') ... ;_;
Ps: Also, I'm somewhat excited to watch Mitsuboshi Colors from them that will start on Winter. Despite me not knowing the source material I feel like that will suit their style well.
I don't speak Japanese though T^T
... I started learning a few months ago though. Can't read a thing yet haha :) ... ;_;
Btw, you are giving this aura that you know Japanese... so, do you know Japanese? e.e
Hmmmm.... Ballroom e Youkoso is a typical sports anime with the biggest difference being the sport in question. Characters and story are... I don't want to say "generic" but it's what you expect from a sports anime.
... and it seems that people kept on complaining because of the lack of animation on the show... I feel like I'm lowering your motivation, which wasn't my intention at all!! I just wanted to give you some sort of "introduction" ^^; ... Still has been extremely fun to watch.
Good luck on that!
"I've been reading manga since I've first learned how to spell"
Wait, how??
I will try looking them up that way, if I can't find it on YouTube or Nico Nico, I go torrenting :'D Btw, is it better to search them in Japanese? I guess that it would haha Can we find on youtube or Nico Nico the full version of those videos?
LMAO That's so awesome!! I love stuff like this T^T
Yeah, I'm with you on this one. Also really not my thing... ^^;
haha that doesn't seem healthy, like, at all :D I watched the 1st episode when it started airing, but kinda put it on-hold since the quality of the episodes was bad... I wonder if a better release came out meanwhile.
haha xD I'm also having fun!
Studios I can manage!!! Let's see, hmmm.... My favorite probably is Shaft. I just love their work. Backgrounds, animation, characters designs, everything \o/
... Then, Kyoto Animation. I mean, is hard to find a Slice of Life fan that doesn't think that Kyoani is amazing haha
Ps: Also really sorry, I'm extremely slow at writing T^T
Ah, I also kinda do that. If there's a familiar voice in an anime that I started I usually go check who it is and which other characters the voice actor has played. Though, I forget right away about them ^^;
" I also used to check almost every seiyuu I heard for their blogs/sites and see how they developed or which role suits them the most,"
Wow! ...I don't want to go that deep haha
Like you mentioned "cast talk videos or radio shows and stuff." might be more my thing.
I ended up asking you about voice actors, but I actually want to be more knowledgeable about people of the anime industry in general. It's quite lame that I have been watching anime for a while now and have no idea about who makes the anime that I consume ^^;
Ah, I'm currently watching "Ballroom e Youkoso" and I really like the music used in that, so the other day I went to check who made it... and apparently is your favorite composer Hayashi, Yuuki hehe =w=)b
It's stuff like this that I want to be more knowledgeable about... But MAL doesn't offer much about them. I would love to watch/read interviews, articles, etc about them, (or stuff along those lines) Do you know if there's a good way to do that (website for example) or there isn't that much information about them?
Yes, but if that was the case you would be my senpai when it comes to manga... therefore since we are both senpais and kouhais of each other we end up having equal footing u.u ... or something like that ^^;
Hmmm... " blog, agency profile or personal site" might be a bit too much especially since I'm under the impression that they are in Japanese only.
That's a really good idea! hehe Thank you! (I should have read everything before started replying ^^;)
"Or see if they've taken part in any famous anime. Famous anime usually have lots of festivals/events, where the cast shows up to interact with fan or hold a talk show. "
Again, this seems to be a lot more my thing.
"I suggest you should look up the AnoHana fes and see Sakurai Takahiro dress up as Menma when they're about to finish lol."
Lmao I really want to see that!! haha Do you have a place where you use to look up this stuff or you just google it in the hopes of finding it?
" Stage plays, as you said, are nice too, though I find some of them are a little weird... ●﹏● like Haikyuu's, for example. "
Hmmm... I honestly am not sure if it was a stage play... It probably wasn't, but I had no idea what to call it T^T Plus, it had stuff like this, so I figured that it was close enough haha https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wXMNyGeI2js (It wasn't this that I watched, but I guess that it sends the point across)
Plus, you got me curious on Haikyuu's one (゜▽゜;)
I can see that happening. For example, I always found awesome that Saori Matsuo voices Ononoki from the Monogatari series. Which I find really different from the other stuff that she made... Don't know, I'm not that knowledgeable about this, so maybe it isn't as impressive as I think? T^T
Hi, I just finished reading your review of Blend S and I really enjoyed it.
I was checking your list and I think that we have really similar taste in anime, so I ended up sending a friend request ^^;
Btw, I'm not that much knowledgeable about voice actors, so out of curiosity, do you just use MAL to "keep track" and know about them?
I have watched some sort of stage presentation/play with some voice actors of Working!! a while back (which was phenomenal) and I have been intending to get more into it since then... and failing quite miserably haha So, if you have any, some tips would be great

I think Ushio Kensuke is a talented young composer as well.
and thanks mate and me too :D
