A spoiler-free review, don't worry.
This could be a hit-or-miss for certain readers and honestly I didn't have high expectation of this manga when I read the first chapter.
Well, what do you expect if the synopsis itself tells you that this MC has sold his lifespan for a few bucks and waiting for his life to end?
I expected it to be a downer piece but as I went along the chapters, I had this sense of dread reading it, knowing that the end will surely come.
Oh boy, it was a ride - feeling of dread, disgust, hope, love, warmth, happiness, hate, et cetera...all of them wrapped
...
in an unassuming manga, with a lengthy title.
Art-wise, it's a simple one.
As for the story, it managed to turn me from "meh" at 1st chapter, then it built up the story until the end - it managed to make me to cry my hearts out.
Kudos to the author who kept me engrossed from start till the finish in one sitting.
Once again, some might love this, some might not. Give it a try.

The final installment of "Another World" by Yuzuki N' and this time we look things from Asakura's perspective. Who's Asakura? Well, he's the guy who trained Rei Nagayama anal.
Here we get to know Asakura's past and man, it wasn't pretty. I think I understood him better in this story and almost being sympathetic to him but wait!
He's the one who messed up Fujimori and Nagayama's relationship.
Yet, I think Yuzuki N' should continue this story. Asakura needs a happy ending, damn it! He went through a lot of shit and in the end, all he got is...nothing. Come on, that's too sad. He should redeem
...
himself.
Hell, life is never pretty anyway.
I give this another 7. I understood why Asakura is like that and now, everything comes in a full circle. Strangely, I didn't rage over "Hand", unlike the previous stories.

OK now, be thankful that I'm reviewing this 1 day after I read it, unlike "Another World" (AW) where I reviewed right after I read that story. That's why my review there was packed with emotion - mostly negative.
Enough digression, so let's take a look at "Dream-like Days". The 1st chapter is the prequel to AW and I think the story is fair. We get to know what happened back then between Nagayama & Fujimori. Fujimori is the boy, in case you don't know. And man, he's still wimpy even though this story is from his perspective.
From what I've seen, Fujimori x Nagayama is a
...
product of pity on Nagayama's part. I might be wrong, though. But to me, crying unnecessarily will just invite pity.
Chapter 2 of "Dream-like Days"...that's where shit starts to get heavy. Things started to get psychological. Is the reason why Fujimori dates Rei Nagayama is to get rid of his nightmares about himself? That might be one of his reasons but in this chapter, he had new nightmares instead. And Nagayama is in it.
OK...breath in and breath out...be calm. I know, netorare (wiki it in case you don't know. it's a subgenre of hentai) is the trigger to my rage. I'm in control, I'm in control...
Now we get to know why at the end of AW, Fujimori said he disliked anal. Yetl, these facts still hold:
1. Fujimori is a wimp, spineless character and he tends to judge things hastily.
2. Nagayama...oh wow, how I try to use bad language on her. She might be smart or daring and professional as the school rep but man, she lacks common sense. Girl, look here, your boyfriend wants anal but you trained with someone else. What the fuck is that?
Oh I forgot, this is a netorare hentai. Please forgive my language.
But man, both of them got issues and heavy baggage, to boot! Why they can't be honest? I'm banging my head over that. *sigh* I give "Dream-like Days" a 7, for accomplishing its intended goal: to make me pissed off.

First of all, I hate two-timing and reading this triggered my anger. But it's just a story...so, I thought "why not?". If the story turned out like the other "two-timing" genre, I'd put much worse rating.
The main girl character is shallow, I tell ya. Her intention for two-timing was good (that's what she thought) but I didn't give a damn. Thank you for reminding me of that bitch.
The prequel to this story is kinda good - heartwarming to me but what happened in the next 3 chapters is pure shit. Again, I hate two-timers.
So why did I give a 7 if I hate "Another
...
World"? Because Yuzuki N' managed to get me angry and I believe if a story managed to evoke certain intended emotions, then the story is a success.
And yes, thank you, Yuzuki N' for shortening my life for a day.
EDIT: I revisited this thing after a while (it was 9 years after my original review) and man...it helped me to bring final closure to my own ordeal being NTR'ed.
It's good if you try to think in all the characters' perspective, not only the one who are being NTR'ed. Each character has their own void to be filled. This story is decent in linking that connection. While I feel sorry for Ryuuta but I could relate with Rin-chan's drive for perfection, to the extent she was willing to do what she did with Asakura-kun.
Maybe I felt raged because Ryuuta was like me back then. Same thing goes to Rin-Chan. She has void to be filled.
Good read after all these years. I gave it a better score this time. The only thing I disliked was that train chapter. It served no purpose to me.

This is my first review and wow, my 1st will be on a doujin of a popular anime series, Neon Genesis Evangelion. So, here's my review:
STORY - 8
Basically, Re-Take is a retelling of NGE, some sort of a "what if" for Shinji. At first, R-T moves kinda slow but when the pace gets faster, it flew REALLY fast. I enjoyed how Studio Kimigabuchi wrote the story and how they expand the established canon. Some part of it are not the most original of ideas but they work. Expect twists and turns, they are pretty good. Expect generous amount of hentai, too and Studio Kimigabuchi is
...
very kind in this department. And by the way, they managed to make me cry manly tears from reading this.
ART - 6
Hmmm, pretty decent but when it comes to the hentai scenes, the art looks messy. But they managed to capture the emotions made by the characters. Looks believable to me.
CHARACTER - 8
This is the star of this doujin. I love how the characters interact with each other. At the same time, they pretty much stay true to their original character.
ENJOYMENT - 10
R-T engages me so much that I forgot that this is a hentai doujin and trust me, the later chapters are very good.
OVERALL - 8
I give Re-Take an 8, a very good score for a hentai doujin with a pretty decent hentai scenes. While the story are not that very original but never before in my otaku life a hentai doujin made me shed manly tears for reading it. Good job, Studio Kimigabuchi. You guys never disappoint me.
