An otaku teacher... :D
Based on
http://spoa.freeshell.org/commentary/SPOAEvolution.html, my otaku level is "Phase 3 – The Butterfly Otaku".
What is a butterfly otaku? Here goes:
-The Butterfly Otaku or “Rock Bottom”: Somewhere the stage of devouring every anime in sight has leveled off. You have plateaued (or bottomed out, depending on your perception). Your habit isn’t quite so all consuming anymore. You don’t watch everything, you start to become choosy in the anime that you watch. You know what you like and what you don’t like. You have your ear to the wire, and you know just what anime out there will be worth your time and what will be crap. You probably have at least one regular and reliable source of anime-related news. Perhaps you subscribe to a decent newsletter (Animenation’s or the TRSI), visit a well-reknowned news-site (animeondvd.com!), or have a favorite fanzine or magazine that you read (EX or Protoculture Addicts). You are well aware of upcoming releases and follow them regularly. You’ve probably found some friends (be it online or in the real world) who share your passion, and talk with them regularly on the subject. You’ve also probably picked up at least one of anime’s many sub-hobbies (modeling, costuming, drawing, J-Pop, etc.) Somewhere during this phase you start going to conventions (Otakon, Anime Central). Occasionally this happens during Phase 2, but it really depends upon how old you are, what kind of transportation you have access to, and where you live. But by Phase 3 it has become enough of an obsession that you regularly find your way to them. Convention attendance is the most important step in achieving (or degenerating to) Phase 3. You begin to notice just what position among anime fandom that you hold. You are now a social creature, and have begun to notice the common trends that otakus share. Your recent additions to your collection are probably only anime that you think are really good, as opposed to just anything from Japan. You can now make jokes about fandom, write useless articles such as this one, and probably have made several web-pages, character shrines, and so forth. Another important characteristic is your desire to educate other, less-evolved otaku (or drag them down with you, as it were). You have blossomed into a full-fledged otaku. You have seen finally experienced enough anime and anime-fandom, and you have matured enough to intelligently critique and appreciate it.
Common Traits: Slightly more attention to hygiene than Phase 2 Otaku. Often appear in costume. Are active members in their respective club- (Direct quote from website)
Not only just your average animeotaku, I'm also a CG otaku (I might get carpal tunnel syndrome soon D: ).
Collecting PVC figures, gashapon and figmas since 2009. Hell, we otakus sure have a lot of disposable income...
