Tetsuwan Birdy Decode:02
add

Animes dealing with the present being influenced by societies with more advanced technology. In terms of human relations they are both relatable despite the incomprehensible settings, and deal with dark sides of the mind. I can honestly say I was deeply touched by the characters and at the same time tremendously excited by the stories and their unforeseeable plot-twists and turns. If you are willing to sit through the first season of Tetsuwan Birdy Decode, which is undoubtedly not as good as its sequel, chances are good you will not regret it, and likely quite the opposite.

Set in a different world, where magic/alchemy is common. They are both fully packed with action, and are likely to leave you on the edge of your seat by the end of every episode. Whether you are looking for something with a similar plot, similar fights or something epic with that dark feel to it; Look up the other if you haven't watched it yet.

Tsuritama and Mawaru Penguindrum are very similar both in terms of how they look and how they feel. They first come off as simple and a little odd, story-wise, but little by little a complicated and confusing underlying plot emerges.

Nichijou

Undeniably similar humor with a school setting. Both series mainly consists of a string humorous situations. While Nichijou hasn't really got much of a story to speak of, School Rumble has more development both in terms of story and characters, although still not very noticeable. If you liked one of them, you will surely enjoy the other.

Black Jack 21 and Hi no Tori were both created by Osamu Tezuka. They both revolve around theories of eternal life, and the two also have very similar art and character-designs.

These series are in many ways different, but both are very philosophical and thoughtprovoking. They are mature without sacrificing enjoyment and action. They also both revolve around the concept of eternal life and are partly or entirely post-apocalyptic. I strongly recommend both these series, which are amongst my all-time favorites.

Both stories are meant particularly for children, and they both revolve around animals and their way of living. If you liked Jungle Emperor Leo, then you'll probably find Arashi no Yoru ni to be even better.
