Everyone wants to be free. The definition of free is different for everybody though. Well for Haruka Being free means being in the water and you’re about to discover what Free! means for me. ^^
Well to be honest I am quite disappointed in Free!. Why? Because I started watching it as recommendation from Kuroko no Basket. Well lets make one thing clear Free! isn’t about sports at all. It is more about friendship and slice of life. “How can you make swimming exciting?” was my first question when I started this serie. Waiting for to be blown off my chair I started this serie. Unfortunately
...
I didn’t even felt a breeze and my chair just stayed upright. But after watching the first 8 episodes I realized that the serie doesn’t rely on that at all. From then the serie became much better for me. I found this serie fairly enjoyable, what means I don’t regret watching it. But on the other side I won’t recommend this serie to anyone.
Now all this is known, I guess I can start the review properly now. Well the story is about a group of guys (With girl names) that like to swim. At first they seem to have a weird bond. It is later on that you see how big and natural it actually is. I don’t think you need to know much more since the strength of it isn’t the story.
What I really liked about the series are the characters. Especially Haruka and Rin, who are old teammates/friends but eventually became rivals because of some circumstances. Well the rival story isn’t completely true. Rin takes Haruka as his rival, but Haruka doesn’t feel like taking swimming competitively serious. He just loves to be be in the water. It lets him feel free. So I’m convinced that “swimming is his passion” would be an understatement for Haruka. Swimming is more like breathing for him. The way he stays so mysterious while you experience his thoughts is very good! The same counts for Rin, the characters does have something special in the beginning. But they become very good at the end. It is a bit like a sunflower that is growing. You know that it has the potential to become something so beautiful what already makes it kinda beautiful. But once they started to blossom they become extremely beautiful!
The art is gorgeous and surely played an important role for all those female fans. The swimming scenes are so beautiful and the character looks very good to. The style of drawing fits the story perfectly! The OST isn’t special at all, they have a good opening though. And the voice acting is also good. Enjoyment was something that lacks in my opinion. This has probably only worsen because of my wrong expectations. I really liked the end though and I am curious what season 2 will bring. ^^

The mangaka Tsugumi Ohba (story) and Takeshi Obata (art) did it again. They made an insane good shounen story that doesn’t had any (real) fights. They’ve really expanded the shounen genre! To those who don’t know, they wrote Death Note too. Since Death Note is the most watched anime here and has lots of points in common. I think it is appropriate that I am going to refer to that to let you understand some things better. But don’t worry if you haven’t seen it. I will try to explain as clear as possible, so everybody can understand it.
So let’s start the review already. The
...
story is about 2 boys that want to become mangaka, no gamblers. They find the “mangakas” that cannot make a living out of there work, are just gamblers (Btw that is where the name comes from. It comes from “bakuchi” and “manga” what means “gambling manga”. It symbolizes what I just said and that manga is just a gamble. You can try to predict what will be a hit but the real hits cannot be predicted. If you try to calculate what is popular to make a hit it will never be a hit. You need to make it without thinking about that and if it is or isn’t a hit is just like a gamble). But what the story really is about is following your dreams. In Japanese the word “yume” means that much more as the translation dream here. Lots of series use that subject because it is one of the most telling and beautiful words in their culture. If you then see how Bakuman used it. I cannot imagine that something can surpass or even come close to it, if it goes about following your dreams. They teach you that it is good to have dreams, especially the part of trying to accomplish them. You will see that there is only one way to make your dreams into a reality and that is working hard for it. If you read the subs of the opening of their second season you will perfectly understand what I mean. I just got goosebumps every time I hear that song. The fact that you see how hard it is to become a professional mangaka is really good. The secrets of making manga will be revealed, so it is quite interesting to see if you are already a big manga/anime fan.
The story on its own is quite different with Death Note but it has some similarities. The fact that they’re both trying to accomplish their dream (it is more an ideal in Death Note though) is a little thing they have in common. another is the very start of the story. It both starts with their view on life. In Bakuman it is more about the future while it was about how rotten this world is in Death Note. It really gives a weird feeling because they both see themself as someone successful in the future but still see the life as “a pain in the ass”. The way you hear them thinking that while they are just walking to school is really superb.
For the rest is the stories are completely different from each other.
Then the characters. They basically aren’t that special except for the protagonists and the antagonist. The way how they try so hard to accomplish their dreams is just so beautiful to see. And just like in Death Note I actually like the antagonist more. L is surely someone special. Well I don’t think that Niizuma Eiji should yield to L. They’re both special in there own way. Just like I like L with his special habits and the way he thinks do I like Niizuma Eiji with his special habits and especially the way he draws. He is so lively when he draws. The way he empathize with the characters while drawing and reading manga. It is so funny to see him read/draw manga! The way he is always correct with anything about manga is just superb. The fact that you like the rival even more than the protagonist(s) (While you still like the protagonist that much) is really a special way to experience a serie. Guess those who have seen Death Note know the feeling. Though they are the greatest rivals they are friends to, that is just so beautiful to see! The way the mangaka understands that a good antagonist is even more important than a good protagonist. Is something what separates the mangaka from other shounen writers.
The drawings fits the story perfectly. It is fascinating to see people draw manga/anime in a manga/anime serie and those drawing fits their story to. All this is done so well and though it is the same drawer as Death note the art-style is completely different and easy to separate from each other. The ost is again so good. I don’t know why but I cannot tell anything bad about Bakuman and to be honest it is the same with Death Note. But I was talking about the ost. As I said it is good, especially the motivating “lets go for it parts” and the more sad/happy music. I know it sounds weird, just to be clear I am talking about the parts where they are happy but the music is kinda sad not really sad but actually more like something happy but written in a sad-style. This gives an extra special touch that is so difficult to explain.
Then last but surely not least, the enjoyment. This where I criticize most of the series. There are a lot series that just doesn’t excite me. But Bakuman is something different! Just like Death Note I loved it that much from the first to the last episode. Though (Just like Death Note) it was a bit less in the middle. The way they make everything exciting with no battles, Just with story and dialogues is unbelievable!! The Death Note fans know what I mean for sure. I rarely was that excited than from those 2. But there is one big difference with Death Note. This one motivated me to try out manga pages. Actually drawing in common. But not only that, it motivated me to go 100% for everything that I do. That whole “following your dreams” part is really motivating to follow or even get dreams. While after I saw Death Note, it wasn’t like I was motivated to change the world or something.

Cowboy Bebop is a popular high rated anime though many people finds it bad and it is dropped a lot. Am I surprised of either one of both? Actually not. I am one of the few who is in between of them. So I can understand the arguments of both sides. This is a difficult serie for me to rate. Since the things they have done good are extremely good however for the bad things counts the same. Trying to guide you aswell as me trough my thoughts. Isn’t the most obvious thing to do. But I will give it a try.
So lets begin
...
with the story: It is basically about bounty hunters from the year 2072. These bounty hunters are referred as cowboys a lot in the serie and bebop is the name of their spaceship, if I am not mistaken. So that is where the title comes from. I don’t think there is anything else important to know for now.
The first thing I would like to tell you about the serie is that it is very episodic (If that is even a word). I meant that every episode tells its own story and all those stories gives an idea of their life. I personally don’t like that fact because then you cannot be sucked in the serie as it is supposed to be. That is another reason why I had difficulties to get into the serie and I think that is probably one of the reasons why so many people dropped this anime. On top of that some episodes felt bad and a lot felt like they are fillers. However the good episodes where very good and very amusing to watch. Thats why it is very difficult to criticize the story. Simply because it exist out of 24 different stories. I just don’t like to put a number on the whole bunch and if I would do it on the whole serie it won’t be good either, since it doesn’t has a real plot or something because of this. But I can tell that my rating of these stories goes from 3 to 9 with the higher numbers in the end. Probably cause I started to appreciate the style more. Though the end isn’t built up as good as the other anime series, it is really good and suits the anime perfectly.
I am not really a sci-fi fan, especially things like star wars. This was completely different though. They didn’t put any attention to the future gadgets. I think they did it just for some more spectacular action scenes with those ships. It gave me actually more the feeling that it happened in the past then in the future. especially with those old (beautiful) drawings and the jazz, blues, classic background music. This is all positive in my opinion though. I really like the serie way better as it is.
Guess it is time to go more positive now the worse part of it is done. The best part of the serie for me was without doubt the music. The way they make blues, jazz and classic music exiting is unbelievable! Or is it that what makes the serie exciting? To be honest I don’t know, the only thing I know is that it perfectly suits each other. The way they made the combination let even me enjoy classic music. They really overmastered James Bond with it. Cowboy Bebop just puted Jazz music in the action scenes While James Bond need those good action scenes to get popular. The way they add those weird random sounds at it is really risky. But it is done so great that I love it. The fact that it is so original makes it good. I can understand that a lot of people (especially the younger ones) cannot appreciate that music and surely not in this way. But for me it just made the serie.
The characters are pretty good to. Especially Jet and Spike (the main characters) in my opinion. the other ones aren’t bad but they didn’t got me that much. Probably because The episodes where a new character joins are boring in my opinion. But I must admit that they are all very original. The episodes that goes about Jet and Spike and the way they develop them (slowly but good and full of charm) are very good. That is one of the reasons I absolutely fell in love with those characters.
However the drawings are old and not that good at first sight, I really started to like them. Spike his look, his hair, his poses, his fights, his cigarettes, … It is all just drawn so beautiful. It may look old but it is still full of charm and emotion. Not only Spike is well drawn but he is just the climax of the drawings in this serie.
So that is why I have double feelings for this wonderful seinen serie.
See You Space Cowboy...

Steins;Gate is my favorite anime yet. The way I experienced this serie will be very difficult to explain in words, if they even exist. First off all I would like to have it about the baddest part of the serie. The first six episodes where probably the most boring ones I ever saw. It took me like five months to finish it. After that I saw the rest of the serie in two days though. I guess the introduction to the characters and the story takes some time. But it is absolutely needed to understand the rest of the serie.
I don’t think you have to
...
know a lot about the story. Just that Okabe (that proclaimed himself as the “mad scientist”) incidentally invented a microwave that can sent messages to the past.
I can understand that you have the feeling now of “what for a stupid story is this?”. Since I had the same feeling during the first six episodes. The story becomes interesting when he starts messing with the past and especially when he tries to make up for it with messing with it again. So the first time where he is messing with the past is in episode seven. It is unbelievable how the story upgrades from there. Especially the way every episode (from seven) surpasses the one before it. What gives the most unbelievable end you can ever imagine!!! It is pretty difficult to explain why the story is that good since the starter is kinda boring and everything I would tell over the rest is spoiling. But just try to believe me and see for yourself (if you haven’t already). Cause it is really the best part of the serie and you won’t easily find a plot like that in a serie.
To be honest I don’t like Sci-fi. However it didn’t feel like that. This feels and actually is more like the way we live today. Just with the detail someone has the power of such a machine. Their theory of time traveling is so fascinating, realistic. That it is like it really can exist. The basic theory behind it is “timelines”. It basically is like when you’ve changed something in the past. If what you’ve changed had any influence (That something happened what shouldn’t happened or even something not happened while it should’ve happened) that has change history. You come in another timeline. Where everybody thinks it always was like that. So all their memories are from that past. Here is the special power (the power of steiner) that Okabe has. The power to remember what happened before the timelines changed.
The characters are very good and well developed. Especially the part where he messes with the timelines in a certain way. Because only Okabe knew what happened before that. While the others had the feeling that never happened. This gives a weird way of a bond, cause they're not based on the same facts. Just take as example that you had a person in the past and at that point you hate each other. But later you made up the problems with him/her and became friends. Once you where open for each other, you see how great the person is and you simply fell in love with each other. But the other day he/she forgot about these last 2 weeks as it never happened. Your love will probably be the same while she is back to the time she still hates you. The way the characters react on such things is just superb. The little emotional dramas are simply insane on both sides. The way Okabe handles and how these persons react on it over and over again. Lets you understand the characters even better as the characters understands themselves. So in my opinion everything is well developed however the order seems a bit weird. But the way everything of the personages becomes a bit by a bit clear can make the serie on its own. Then imagine what happens if you use this technique on insane good characters. Well that is Steins;Gate! Explaining why they are so good characters is again difficult because they aren’t like that yet in the beginning. Guess it will be difficult, but you just need to trust me for those facts.
Now the most important things are said, it is times for the minor details. The drawings aren’t special and there aren’t insanely good action drawings or something like that however the drawstyle fits the story perfectly and the design of the characters is pretty good and original. The Ost isn’t that special either. However “Gate Of The Steiner” gives me goosebumps every time I hear it and the intro song did became my favorite of all time. the intro song is again not so special in the beginning. But once you’re at the end of the serie. You will understand the song perfectly and probably like it. The voice-acting wasn’t special but just as the drawings it fits the story what let it sound like it is that special. This principle is actually the same with the drawings.
I hope my review is good enough to let you watch it if you haven’t already because every seinen lover has to see this serie or if you have already seen it, that you simply liked my review and/or it had summoned those feelings from back then again. If you aren’t in one of these groups thanks for reading though.

Mirai Nikki or Future Diary is really an exceptional anime. In my eyes, it is a story with so much potential. Unfortunately I think they didn’t used all the potential it had. After the first five episodes I had something as WOW. This is the best thing I ever saw, this is just insane but how closer I came to the middle, the slower the story became. It started to get fillers and things that weren’t as original anymore as in the beginning. Luckily the last episodes became as original as the firsts again. What gave it a wonderful end that is really insane. Unfortunate
...
I was still frustrated of the middle part that is why I didn’t enjoyed it as much as I was supposed to.
The story is about a boy of 14 Yukiteru (a bit background information: They all have god names. I am just telling this because I didn’t noticed it myself back then. The numbers they later get are based on the ranks of those gods, so Yukiteru symbolizes Jupiter or in greek Zeus (who is the boss of the gods). Thats why he is number one) that holds a diary (his cellphone). He has become an observer that take notes of everything he sees. Along with that he has an imaginary friend (or at least he thought he was imaginary) Deus Ex Maxima the god of time and space. On a day after a weird conversation with Deus Ex Maxima about an unknown power, he stands up and was planning to write something in his diary. But he discovers that it is already filled in. First he thought it is fake and that he did it in his sleep or something. But still decided to give it a test but without any expectation of Yuki everything happened exactly as it is written. From throwing a double bullseye to getting the answers of a test he had that day. After that all 12 discovered the power of the diary Deus Ex Maxima took them all together with their bodies hidden as a shadow for each other. Then he starts explaining them the rules. It basically is the last one who survives becomes the new god of time and space. They yet don’t knowing each other's names or faces. They start looking for each other with just one clue their mirai nikki. Already the second day Yuki was discovered by Yuno (number 2) that has a Yuki diary. But she asked to cooperate with him cause she sees everything what will happen to him while he sees what he will see in the future. So together they have a perfect view on his future. Just don’t forget that nobody can be trust in a game like this and just imagine that someone knows everything you do even before you do.
Guess you can start to understand now why I think it has so much potential. It isn’t just a survival game. It is way more original than that. Especially because that not two mirai nikkis are the same. The way this psychological thriller starts is insane. You know what will happen and only people with a mirai nikki can change that. However when the future is changed that much that you are going to die. The only thing the mirai nikki says is dead end, then you need to change the future as quick as possible. But the biggest problem is that you don’t know what you need the change. Another great thing is that it isn’t predictable at all. You simply never know who is going to die next.
Now this is said you probably have a good idea of the principles of the story. So now I can go further on the other elements. To be honest there is only one thing that really made me fell in love with this serie. That reason is Yuno. She is just the most insane character I ever saw. Her unbelievable love for Yuki, The way she does everything with passion especially killing is so great. She is just a real psychopath that isn’t one bit predicable. She can be the best girlfriend you could ever wish for while tomorrow it might be the baddest you ever had. Yuki wasn’t bad either he just needs time to blossom in a beautiful character while Yuno was that insane from the beginning. Unfortunately things can never be perfect. Because Yuno is such a wonderful well thought character the other characters are being placed at the background and not only that. Because of that they other characters aren’t also well developed and thought out. It is so unfortunate that the best part of the serie causes one of the baddest parts of the serie.
For the rest it has a bit or even plenty of everything. The emotions the serie creates cannot be expressed in words. It is full of despair that creates hope. They can let you feel like two persons. It was the first time I had experienced that I was sad and happy at the same time. It isn’t completely like that. It was actually more that something happened and that I didn’t know how I should’ve felt about it. Even though I didn’t knew what I felt, I knew for sure that the music only made it even ten times stronger. So however I was full of emotion I didn’t knew which one it was. They just mindfucked me so mutch that they literally made a autist of me. The voice acting and the Ost can really do a lot here under the right circumstances. The rest (drawings, excitement) where nothing special, they aren’t bad though.
So it is really unfortunate that the middle was full of boring and bad fillers where the creative level sinks for more than hundreds of meters. Otherwise this could’ve been the best anime ever in my opinion.

To be honest I never expected that I would fall that much in love with this serie. I first didn’t see potential in a basketball game. I couldn’t imagine how they could make such a game exciting. But started since I had been recommended it so much and Hajime no Ippo was the only sports anime I had seen yet. What is about boxing so it is still as much similar to fighting as to sports. So I decided to give it a chance and you cannot believe how happy I am that I saw this serie. However the serie isn’t finished yet, it has
...
become one of my top 5 anime with the potential to jump to number one. If the serie keeps evolving itself, like it is doing now.
But what was so good about it? well I would say everything. But lets starts with probably the best part of the serie the characters. The character development is very well done. The way every character is introduced and developed during a game. The order and the timing of how you learn the characters. The way you are starting to appreciate or even admire almost every player, even when you disagree with their way of thinking. This especially on the (ex)members of the generation of miracles. Then the characters on there own are so good and so original. Lots of them really inspired me with their thoughts. The combination of all of them gave me that much motivation that I play much better since then. I don’t even play basket but hockey is a teamsport of 5 players so it is kinda the same. Especially the thoughts of the generation of miracles and of course that of serin itself motivated me. Really everything of this serie could’ve been made just by the wonderful characters with wonderful spirits but it even got support on top of that. The drawings of the players when they play basketball with all their movements are really well done and detailed. It has a great Ost that fits the serie perfectly. Especially the rock guitar solos for in the game are good however the sad music is also good. The voice acting wasn’t bad either but most of the voice actings are from superb level in anime. All this made it very enjoyable. I was suprisely never bored while watching it what is pretty rare in my case. The way the series just keep becoming better is just like a car that accelerates if it keep going like this with the end as absolutely climax. It will become without doubt my favorite serie ever.

Shingeki no Kyojin or Attack On Titan is a typical example of a shounen serie. It is worthfully one of the classic animes, that is highly recommended to watch. However it is far from the best anime I ever saw. Probably it will become higher in my list when the last season comes out and it has a real end.
The story is basically about a boy eren who had witnessed the dead of his mother (that was killed by a titan) and after that devoted his life to take revenge on every titan alive. What isn’t that easy since they haven’t won any battle yet.
...
I don’t think that you need to know more than this.
So what did I like of the anime? Well without doubt the originality of the story. The way titans are brought was (at least for as far as I know) never done that way. They are dumb creatures sorted in much different sorts based on the difference in heights with only one weak spot their neck. The way they fight with their 3D-gears to reach that spot and those 3D-gear fights itself where just magnificent. The way they fly smoothly through the air. How a certain field can give so much advantage/disadvantage. Those concepts are just completly new to me. Just as I said before: the fights are just that great. Everything is like it would’ve been like 2000 years ago just with some sci-fi objects as the 3D-gear. Those walls and everything in the city is so well drawn that it suits perfect for background of the titans. It really gives you that feeling like you’re living to in that time. Some characters are magnificent and most of them are again very original. It is just because of that that it is a classic must watch anime for me. The main characters there voice acting is really well done. It just gives those emotions perfectly over. It just makes the characters who they are.
“But after all those compliments only a seven? why would that be?” is probably a question going through all your heads at the moment. Well the first thing you need to know it that seven means good and that is exactly the way how I feel about this anime. However it had plenty of original stuff there was only one moment that gave me goosebumps. It wasn’t full of fillers or boring stuff. It just wasn’t good enough to surpass many other animes. It probably will at the end of the serie when there comes hopefully an epic end. But as the end is now, such open and nothing special. It just feels like there is missing something big in this anime. Thats why it “only” gots a seven.

Kuroshitsuji or black butler was one hell of an anime. the mix of mythical creatures such as shinigamis, demons, angels with the Britain history is well done. The story is based on some historical facts but of course 99% of the serie is fictive. One great example of a historical fact that they used is Jack The Ripper. The way that they explain those cases with those mythical creatures, is just as it could’ve happened in history without that anyone would’ve noticed it. So basicly they use those creatures to let those cases make a lot more sense.
Ciel Phantomhive is however he is still a
...
child the head of the Phantomhive house/company that does all kind of underground work for the queen. The fact why he is the head of the corporation is because his mansion was fired and both his parents died because of that. After that full of despair and seeking for revenge he made a deal with a demon. The demon may eat his soul when he got his revenge. After they made the deal the demon becomes his butler, able to do the most impossible things and doing/accomplishing everything he has been ordered to. When people has something as “what the fuck?!?!” when they saw what he did/can do. He always simply respond “that it is only normal for a servant of the Phantomhive family to be able to do such things”.
In this serie you see the not official power of the queen and a lot of british culture from the end of the 19th century. However his mansion is in Scotland he usually travels a lot to solve the problems of the queen where he becomes confrontated with some people he wants revenge on.
In my opinion it is one of the classic animes that you should’ve watched if you are a anime fan. However there are some reasons why it doesn’t deserve a high point in my opinion. First of all there are a lot of fillers, things as episode 1 and other episodes are not bad but it doesn’t gives something extra at the story. I think they should’ve been ova. Second I don’t think they have completely used the potential it had. you’re probably asking yourself now “why do I need to watch it then?”. Well the biggest reason for me are the characters. Ciel and Sebastian (the butler) are super good and original characters that you won’t find in just any anime. Another great thing about it is how good some episodes are. Episodes such as episode 6,.. and the end also made the serie. It is very weird but after a bunch of fillers there is randomly a super episode that has the feeling of a wonderful end. Everybody probably knows the feeling of a unbelievable end well here they are randomly placed in the serie as well.
For the rest the music fits the story perfectly, it basically is dark church music for the butler and other dark moments and kinda jazz for the normal moments, with this used in the right way it gives the extra right touch it needed. The drawings are nothing special but surely not bad. The most amusing moments for me where when the butler follows his orders, that just keeps surprising me. The characters aren’t bad but nothing special however as I said, Ciel and Sebastian are just superb in every way.

Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood is without any hesitation one of the most serious shounen series. Beside of the good fights it has a very good plot with lots of psychological aspects about life and power.
The story is about two brothers (Edward and Alphonse Elric) that know alchemy (to manipulate objects and transform one object into another. They are bounded by the basic law of alchemy: in order to gain something you have to sacrifice something of the same value). But they have made one horrible mistake in the past. They have done the taboo of alchemy, they have done alchemy with human lives. Trying to resurrect
...
someone who is very precious to them. Alphonse (the younger brother) lost his entire body while Edward only lost his leg. Edward was able to replace the soul of his brother to an armor in the neighbourhood. But needed to sacrifice one of his arms for that. Then the two brothers joined the army in order to get their bodies back. From here the real story begins.
This anime is unbelievable if you think about what they all handle. The main question of the story is “what is the value of life?”. This is the question where the protagonist had problems with during the whole series. Actually the main reason why that I find this is a very serious shonen is because the way they let you see politics. It is unbelievable how good and detailed it is. You see things like corruption, racism, religion, terrorism, people with a god complex, … . The way you see everybodys thoughts and however you can completely disagree with them you understand what they think and why. The way everybody from different sectors thinks about the value of life is probably one of the most interesting things about the serie since it is combined with all the other thoughs of them. What does people do to get power/succes?, how do people change once they get it? are some other interesting questions that will be answered as well. You can really make endless compares to history. Par example the way the regime attacks a certain religion is comparable with hitler’s regime that attacked the jewish, the one from that religion that wanted revenge and became a terrorist is comparable with al qaida, ... . Thats why I think this serie explains politics even better than Code Geass.
Then I haven’t even talked about the homunculi yet. There even more interesting than politics. It are creatures that thinks they are the evolution of mankind since they are kinda superior to humans. But the most interesting part is that they all have one emotion. Such as lust, envy, greedy, pride, … .It basically shows what these are and what people do if they're obsessed with that emotion.
The openings/endings are very good however the rest of the OST isn’t that good or special. The art isn’t anything special either. The characters are very good not that they are such special themselve but there just plenty of original and interesting ones. The amusement was okay but I wasn’t that exciting while watching it in the first 40 episodes. The other 24 where good of excitement but again nothing special. The fights are very original with all that alchemy shit so these where very exciting to watch. In my opinion that serie had to do it with the story and didn’t had anything too special for the rest however the story makes up for everything and makes it a absolutely a need to watch anime for every shounen lover. So don’t think it is or I find this not worthful to watch just cause I gave it only a eight. Eight is considered as very good and I don’t like to give all good shows tens cause then my favorites won’t come out my list anymore.

NHK Ni Youkoso is the most fascinating story I ever saw. The way it symbolizes everyday life problems x100 is really well done. The fact that it is such a realistic and hard story with no taboos for any perverted thoughts makes it difficult for a lot of people to watch. Cause most of them don’t expect such things in an animated serie, at least if they don’t know anime and the culture behind it that well. It basicly shocks a lot of people. Just know that before you watch it and if it isn’t your genre to begin with I think you have no
...
right to judge it. It is just the same as I don’t like shoujo, what doesn’t mean I am going to watch it and give it a 1 or something.
But lets finally start with the story. The basic is that a boy of 24 (Satou) never comes out his apartment anymore .He has become a hikikomori or a NEET (not in education, employment or training). First you simply see his life as hikikomori. Which can be very weird, but just keep in mind that he hasn't really came out of his apartment for more than 3 years and that it comes from a novel where he is addicted to drugs. If you have been introduced to that you will see the girl of the story Misaki that wants to help him with his problem And makes him her project to bring him back to society. But the way back isn't as simple as you would think it is.
The order in what happens is really unpredictable. I mean that when you think he is almost "cured" it can become worse than it ever was before. What makes it very interesting and never boring to watch.
The story is very good especially the end where every piece of the puzzle comes together. It really makes the wonderful characters, it was just the best end I ever saw. I can guarantee you when you’ve watched this you will understand socially awkward people much better and you also will have changed the way you look at them.
For the rest it was a very depressive story filled with humor. As you probably already know this series don’t has any taboos. The art wasn’t anything special but it fits the story perfectly and the way they express emotions especially with the eyes is very well done. The music wasn’t that special however the start and endings songs fits again perfect with the story. The enjoyment was superb as I already said I was never bored however the episodes between 17 and 19 are less good in my opinion it feels as a filler of the story to me.
If you are still reading I guess it sounded interesting enough to watch it or you already did. If it was that first option I would say make sure to check it out as quick as possible :).
