Among the Winter 2012-13 anime list's gleaming gems is Btooom!, the seinen manga adaptation done by Madhouse Studios.
Story: 6
The story is fairly decent with its battle royale format. The pacing never gets too slow or too fast, and feels "just right" for a 1 cour show.
HOWEVER, the questions left unanswered at the end of the show begs for a second season, which Madhouse should get working on ASAP.
Characters: 6
Just like any other battle royale out there, the cast is pervaded with a very interesting set of characters, including psychos, rapists, and badasses.
However, only the main characters Ryouta and Himiko are the only
...
ones that have extensive development, and even so, it is not much. Many questions are left up in the air with them and we, the viewers, can only wonder what the answers to these questions could be.
While the final credits roll, they show glimpses of even MORE characters. I hope they get more depth added to them in season 2...if there is even going to be a season 2.

Btooom!, I feel, is best enjoyed in HD.
Madhouse is known for their amazing animation. The lighting effects are beautiful, the colors have a strong and vivid feel to them, and the background scenery is nothing short of amazing with its high attention to details. Their use of gradients in the animation also provides a more "realistic" depth to the art.
There are a few hiccups here and there, but they do nothing to detract from the experience.
Sound: 8
From the ambient music to the sounds to the explosions, the sounds are awesome. The music plays at just the right times and makes each scene stand out from the last, and those explosions could really pump you up.
Enjoyment: 9
I typically enjoy all of Madhouse's stuff, and this is no exception. All of the combined attributes listed above has led me to give this an enjoyment rating of 9.
Overall: 8
While not perfect and complete, Btooom! is definitely a great anime. It's amazing visuals, decent story, and interesting characters will keep you entertained for all 12 of its episodes, but take heed, you will thirst for more.
I hope there will be a season 2, so all the questions left behind would be answered. But for now, all I can do is hope.
Thank you for reading my review!
Good day, and good night!

Durarara (DRRR), directed by Takahiro Omori, started off very strong, and as a result, I headed into it thinking it would be like the highly acclaimed Baccano. I thought it would have various advanced plot devices, stellar characters, and beautiful animation from Brains Base Studios.
For the first 13 episodes, I was correct in my assumptions...but as I drew closer and closer to the show's conclusion, I realized just how wrong I was.
Story/Characters: 6
It is a story with arcs, and the characters were great, and as said before, it started up strongly.
About halfway through the show, however, the story became a lot more convoluted, characters
...
started acting OUT of character, plot devices were brought in and out of nowhere, and they relied heavily on "Deus Ex Machinas" (search it up on TV Tropes if you don't know what those are).
It was disheartening to see how the characters and story retrogressed from badassery to mediocrity.

Brains Base handled the show very well. They portrayed the modern city of Ikebukuro correctly, and the animation was amazing...for the most part.
Again, halfway through the show, the animation quality dropped significantly, as if they had expunged their funds in the former half of the show.
Still, I must give credit where credit is due, so Brains Base gets an 8/10 for thier animations.
Sound: 8
The OP's and ED's were very good J-Rock and J-Pop songs, and I listened to them on thier own on multiple occasions. The sound of Celty's motorcycle, I thought, was awesome too.
Enjoyment: 7
If the show had kept its level of quality consistent throughout, the enjoyment factor would be much higher. Instead of feeling for the plot, characters, and ambiance of Ikebukuro, I felt like I was being "trolled" by the writers.
Being trolled on is not a good feeling.
Overall: 7
The modern tale Durarara, by director Takahiro Omori went in as a lion, and out as a lamb. It's exceptionally strong first half and its lackluster second half forces me to give this anime a 7/10.
I hope Brains Base AND Omori decide to reboot the series, so they can correct thier flaws. They should have another go at this series...and maybe then it will get the perfect 10.
Until next time, take care everybody.

*This is my first review, so please, bear with me*
Never in my life, have I seen something so retardedly stupid that it's awesome...until now.
Studio Trigger brings Inferno Cop to the table as thier first "production," and honestly, they did a good job.
This web-series has over-the-top action with a western comic feel to it, which makes this "anime" all the more better to watch.
Story: 3
You don't watch this for the story. It's VERY stupid..and makes no sense whatsoever.
Art: 7
...
The gritty western-comic style, and South Park-esque cut-outs are great for a webseries like this...where it is focused on crazy action and black comedy.
Sound: 8
The sounds made by characters and their enviorments are ridiculous...and hilarious at times. They are fun to hear.
Character: 6
There is no character development whatsoever...but they are all likable. From Inferno Cop himself to Random Gang member #2253, they will have that one special place in your heart that you never knew existed.
Enjoyment: 8
After watching this at 12 AM after a long day of work and school, this is a real treat, and I was laughing like a mad-man the whole time.
Overall: 7
After taking all thee factors into consideration (and the fact that this IS a webseries), Inferno Cop by Studio Trigger deserves a 7/10. It is one of those few shows that are so stupid that it's good.
After seeing what insanity ST is capable of (including their work done at Gainax), I can't wait for them to make a full TV Series.
Good Day and Good Night internet, and thanks for reading my first review!
