Most romance anime/manga settings start of with an explosive or eye-catching setting like maid sama, my little monster, ao haru ride, Toradora, horimiya, ouran Koukou, Kimi ni todoke, etc, etc. (all of which I love btw). And from there the romance develops because of those circumstances.
But mairimashita senpai, is literally the first manga I've seen with like the most uninteresting setting and yet the most beautiful, realistic and probably the best development I've seen in a romance ever. Don't let the word realistic put you off, it is definitely interesting each chapter draws you in more and more.
Initially the female mc is more interested, but
...
as time develop they form genuine feelings for eachother and really navigate what it means to be in a relationship. It's weird because what you have are two very rational mcs, rather than most manga/anime who form misunderstandings off of one or both of the character's inability to communicate. You get to see actual romance problems between rational individuals.
Serina the female mc tries her best to be understanding though it doesn't always match with her feelings and sometimes because of it struggles to say what she needs to say. The male mc is quite straightforward but very thoughtful and always considers her feelings first. Despite this they still go through many trials but try their best to get through it together.
Even the competitors, the male competition, even he ends up being likeable because you can see he is genuinely conflicted though he knows he doesn't stand a chance he struggles with his feelings, but he's not passive either which is important, you can tell he's a genuinely good guy. Not the good guys that keep quiet cos the male mc is their friend, but the good guys that are considering how the girl they like feels.
Even the female competition, ends up likeable also. Honestly this is just the best romance I've ever read from such a simple plot and level-headed characters, but still interesting and heart-warming. It really grows on you, I read it in one sitting.

Honestly I can't understand why anyone would rate this low... First let's clear up the synopsis, yes I read it. Yes I thought it sounded stupid. Does it make sense after watching it? Yes it does.
PLOT: 9
ART: 10
CHARACTERS: 8-9
MUSIC: 10 I LOVE THE OPENING.
PLOT: Firstly the plot: to not spoil anything in as simple terms as possible. A doctor at a hospital is a fan of an idol named Ai. This idol Ai becomes pregnant unknown to the general public and turns up at his hospital. Although in shock he decides to obviously do his job and help her deliver her baby. Due to circumstances
...
related to the idol, the doctor is killed but somehow ends up reincarnated as one of Ai's children (she has twins). Anything further would spoil the first episode, but I'll put it this way. The story follows the two twins in their pursuit in the show-biz sector.
By the beginning of the plot we have a show-biz turned revenge story. The genres are: Isekai, show-biz, comedy, mystery. Probably romance and shonen. In that aspect it's like skip beat, on the girl's side we see an aspiring idol, on the boy's (doctor) side we see an aspiring actor, but the boy seeks revenge. There's also mystery concerning how the doctor was killed, and in his pursuit for revenge there's also mystery surrounding that too.
So basically it's pretty interesting, it's not a slapped together isekai, it's pretty well thought out.
CHARACTERS: All the characters are so well-developed like WOW. All of them are unique likeable, properly well developed. ART: The art is probably one of the best aspects and best art Ive seen in anime ever. Don't think the bright colours are just to fool you or attract you or glimpse over bad details. The colours are used perfectly and are super pretty.
Basically without revealing too much this anime has: drama, gripping mystery and cliffhangers, an element of shounen in the sense of young people competing with their talents striving to make it having wow moments when their abilities are shown, isekai we get to see the mc grapple with his old identity and life a little bit, probably romance and very good comedy. All this makes it super interesting and a 9. The reason it's a 9 not an 8 is cos honestly I don't think I've watched an anime excel in all these aspects so highly across all elements before. COMEDY, ROMANCE, SHOUNEN, MYSTERY, ART, SCHOOL, SETTING. Also the fact that even though it's a school anime the characters still have brains. There's deepness in the storytelling and the characters its really nice.

I recommend this manga, but it is a bit of a Seinen and honestly I think it was overly sexualised, to be more accurate it's like a rated 15 tv show. So keep that in mind before reading.
I thought the characters were very interesting and their relationship was sweet. The FL is a likeable mc she's your typical bubbly heart on her sleeve loving kind of mc, not particularly special which makes her more realistic actually and she's a generally likeable person in my opinion. She didn't act stupidly apart from the regular in love behaviour, and her reactions were pretty normal. The ML on
...
the other hand was the unique one, he's a genius composer, not that great with people so hasn't had many actual romantic relationships, extremely straightforward and a womaniser. But his straightforwardness makes him endearing because of how honest this makes him and how considerate he acts. As a musical artist he's sensitive to sound and this has made him misunderstood in the past.
There aren't many interactions with the side characters, honestly speaking there's just a lot of scenes of them sleeping together. However in saying that, this manga basically features a very high paced (in the sense that they got together quickly, the pacing is reasonable), sweet relationship between two adults. The FL is a woman who falls in love easily, she's not an idiot but more like a regular girl, the ML is someone who probably hasn't had a real relationship before, so seeing them fall in love is very cute that's the basis.
The art is beautiful and the coloured pages are nice, both mc are very good looking. The story is straightforward and what you'd expect from a 12 episode shoujo manga, it's not boring it's definitely entertaining and interesting but it's nothing deeper than that.
It's got comedic aspects so it'll definitely give you a laugh. I've given it an 8 and not a 7 because a 7 for me usually has some annoying and undeveloped shallow characters regardless of how entertaining it is. I really liked these characters, and they made sense so I've given it an 8.
Keep in mind it is only 23 chapters.

It had a really nice concept for the plot, but the execution wasn't great and the ending and the plot weren't very interesting. The relationship between the mc girl and boy I didn't think was cute I found it a little sickening. Obviously it's short so it feels a little rushed maybe that's why. Give it a chance I guess, it's not trash. I rated it a 4 cos of the relationship but in reality it would probably be a 6.
The art is nice, bit generic but that's fine. The characters weren't unlikeable but not particularly special. Very generic characters but it was entertaining for
...
a short story.

Why isn't there more of this and why does it just have a 6. It's really funny and has the potential to become a serious but very comedic and interesting anime. There wasnt a moment i wasnt engaged. I'll probably read the manga now!
Since MAL wants this to be a longer review. The plot premise is very simple. Prodigy battery from middle school disappears. Everyone assumes they'll just reappear at a private or prestige high school. The mc Yamada Tarou a former baseball player with average abilites quit baseball after realising he was a small fish in a big pond after playing against the prodigy
...
battery. So he goes to a school with no baseball team where the battery reappears. But it turns out the catcher has lost his memories.
Plot: 7
Comedy: 8
Art: 6
Enjoyment:8.5
Characters:7/8 - it's just one episode, with more screen time I think I'd come to like them more.

Wow honestly I don't know where to start. But I'll keep this spoiler free in case you still want to watch.
So I read the premise of the anime and thought it sounded interesting so I decided to watch it. I did see the low rating, but I'm the sort of person that likes to see for themselves. However I regret that now. Really and truly there were a lot of signs this anime was going to be bad, but because there's mystery in the storyline I wanted to find out so I watched it to the end.
Characters:
At the least I'd like the mc to be
...
likeable, developed or both and this mc was neither. I think they were trying to portray him as the gloomy guy with a dark past that no one liked at the start but is secretly caring and becomes everyone's light later on. But he just appeared like a guy holding onto his past trauma and then when reliving that same situation loses his initial fear and common sense and instead is trying to become a suicidal martyr.
The other characters aren't worth mentioning, I guess I did like that girl with the short hair or just disliked all the others idk.
Plot:
The PLOT! Wow. Now this is why I'm annoyed because the premise is good but the story is shite. You'll be five episodes in thinking it's gonna get better, that when you find out the cause it will all makes sense and make the time you spent on this anime worth it. I don't think I've ever felt so annoyed after a plot point in an anime is revealed. Like I was actually fuming, and then to add such a bad ending wow.
There are a lot of anime ending people might call bad;
Skip Beat's anime ending for leaving us on an arc that was unfinished and making you wish there was more; the many bad ends in re zero that make you sympathise with the mc and feel like it was all for nothing; the ending of banana fish that left me crying buckets and sad for days.
But despite them being 'bad' it wasn't because the anime was bad it was based on how I felt. But this anime wow. This is definitely the worst ending I've seen ever. Forget the fact that the plot is bad. The ENDING was bad because it was so random. They revealed this shit mystery plot and then added a bunch of random stuff and wrapped it up so the anime wouldn't have a part 2.
Maybe we should be grateful to the ending after all? I guess there's always a bright side.
Sound:
Can't remember, not worth mentioning, wouldn't make a difference.
Art:
Not bad, kinda mediocre. The animation did feel a bit weird, I don't normally notice stuff like that anyways.
Enjoyment:
You can probably tell.
Overall:
This is a bad anime.

I've only watched one episode of this, so it might be unfair to write a review, however my first impression is that this anime is kinda pretentious. I'm not the biggest fan of slice of life anyways unless it's a comedy but this anime is boring in my opinion.
The narrator compared being a doctor to being a bartender and said they both can make one wrong step that will either turn into poison or medicine? I get in anime sometimes you hear examples like that for the sake of the anime but really? In the first episode you're gonna try and make me believe that,
...
all because of a seemingly talented bartender.
In All Outs which I recently just re-watched, ebumi (one of the rugby players) said that a famous player once said that rugby is just lawful fighting. This wasn't during the first episode when I hadn't even seen a rugby game, but many after when even I felt like yeah that seems right. With this anime when I heard that line I was literally so confused cos the consequences are nowhere near the same.
Everything seemed like they were trying to force emotions and impressions onto me, trying to MAKE me acknowledge that this bartender was super talented, and that the hotel guy was an annoying guy who treats bartenders HORRIBLY but it felt forced.
Honestly I feel bad that I have this much to say and I only watched one episode but I really was expecting to like it as it's in the mystery genre, so I'm kinda disappointed.
I'm re-watching grand blue as well and the first thing I thought was that this anime was the movie that cebaco/cakey/aina was watching where she got the scene: "Let's toast to your beautiful eyes" lol

The reason I've rated this anime quite highly isn't because it's the best anime in the world, but it's because it's very enjoyable!
If you're a shounen anime lover like me, who likes to see the likeable underdog mc rise from the bottom to the top with hardwork to become op despite people underestimating him or putting him in disadventageous situations, then THIS is for you!
So firstly I'll get into the pros:
Although I love shounen anime, I usually dislike anime where the mc hides his powers, because once he's shown them I'm kinda like well what now. BUT with Quanzhi fashi the mc keeps on
...
evolving and getting stronger and ends up gaining more abilities he ends up hiding. So pro 1 the show keeps you interested!
In some anime the mc will hide his ability for flimsy reasons like not wanting to get involved in situations or etc, etc. Whereas Mo Fan (initially) is hiding his lightning powers so when he does show them, they're at a level where it can compete evenly with those who doubted. Long story short, he wants to put them in their place and honestly I LOVE the honesty! Pro 2: Straightforward and not self-victimy mc
Every shounen anime needs some competition and well, it's a magic school! The magic itself has rankings which magic users must improve o at different educational stages (high school, college). There are sometimes tournaments and competitions, (places for the mc to show what he can do!) I don't need to say more honestly. Pro 3: Competition
Although I've only mentioned the mc (Mo Fan) this doesn't mean the other characters aren't likeable or fleshed out. However as I've watched the anime from season 1 - 4 the main cast changes therefore I don't think they're worth mentioning, but the other characters do have their own development and roles in the plot. Pro 4 Likeable characters.
The anime has a comedic tone which is also a thumbs up for me!
Now onto the cons:
I read on another review that it is hard to translate Chinese directly because some words aren't available in the English Language, so because of this I think either a lot of details are missed or a lot of information isn't explained- but I think it's the first reason.
So because of that I'll explain that the anime is an isekai in case that confused you too and also any confusion about how the magic system works out, search it up. It's actually quite simple so you won't be confused for long.
I like the art but I think the animation could be better.
Honestly looking at this anime subjectively I don't think it should be rated so high HOWEVER it's EXACTLY my taste. So take that with a pinch of salt, but if you love shounen anime like me you should definitely check this out.
(The rest of this review is me ranting a bit, if you want ignore it)
I mean do you know how hard it is to find a magic school anime, with a likeable op mc that started as an underdog, and is constantly showing people up- I LOVE IT!
Sometimes you'll find anime like that but it will have lots of fanservice, or the mc is annoying and naive, or it's a harem for no reason, or the mc doesn't even need to put in any effort. I do like harems though, but it's annoying when there's harem and the mc is oblivious to it like he didn't bloody create it himself.
Anyways there's always something but for me, this anime is perfect. I also like arifureta and Tate no yuusha but there's more element of competition in this anime which I really enjoy!

So when I first watched the first I think one or two episodes of this anime I thought why tf does this have such a high rating. But I ran out of anime and I decided to try it again and WOW I WAS BLOWN AWAY!
If you find it boring after the first 3 episodes don't give in and keep on watching it trust me you'll suddenly find yourself binge watching it.
It got to the point where I had to read the manga simply because I couldn't find an anime with a mc as amazing as toua. And I literally never read manga it's the
...
only one I ever finished diligently, but I wish it was animated tbh.
Idk what you were expecting from my review but this is a pretty amazing anime so just watch it. If you're worried about my taste in anime I'll just list a bunch I like and don't like.
Three top tier (shounen genres only ish)
Haikyuu - best anime to exist
BnHa - very good
Major - very good
Animes I highly recommend
Jujutsu Kaisen
Skip beat
Diamond no ace
Food wars
HxH
Demon Slayer
Baby Steps
yowamushi no pedal
ballroom e youkoso
run with the wind (no comedy but still very good)
Anime I'm not really fond of but don't hate I guess
Fairy Tail - I tried to watch it after finishing hxh and it just wasn't at the same level Natsu felt like a really basic character and I usually love short loud characters but idk and I don't like lucy either so i didn't stick with it.
kuroko's basket - it's definitely entertaining but I feel like sports anime should have a boundary on what very unrealistic and this anime likes to cross it a lot.
black clover - i used to LOVE this anime but I can't get back into it now. I feel like the comedy is the same jokes over and over again idk. I feel like after finishing hxh most of the anime I liked I realised were kinda bad like hinomaruzumo or whatever it's called. But I dropped that one ages ago.
