These two works are extremely different in terms of mood, but there’re some clear thematical connections. Both works deal with: - Shinto and its rituals; - An unusual twist on Shinto; - The contraposition of the rural life and the city life; - The fate of small mountain villages in this day and age. The differences are many, but the main is that Kuma Miko is a slice of life comedy and Tajikarao is a supernatural thriller. Also Tajikarao is set on Kyushu and Kuma Miko on Honshu, thus it also leans on ainu beliefs.

These works are very different in spirit but share some topics. Similarities are mostly in the fantasy elements: - Costumed characters, that are actually living and breathing; - The characters, who transform into these living dolls, battle; - The transformation power seems to be of a no good kind; - A partner takes part in the transformation; - The action that the partner performs is embarrassing and mildly sexual, which is the source of fanservice; - One side of the pair is forceful (the source of rapey undertones fanservice). The differences are: - Gleipnir is a more like a battle shounen, Kigurumi Guardians is a mahou shoujo in heart; - Gleipnir has male-oriented ecchi, Kigurumi Guardians is female oriented with bishies, kissing and BL-bait; - Gleipnir is plot-centered, Kigurumi Guardians is fanservice-centered; - Gleipnir has one main pair so far, Kigurumi Guardians introduces three of them right from the start.

Totsukuni no Shoujo

These two works share their place in the demographic chart and have similarities in cast and topics. The similarities are: - Mag Garden publications, officially shounen, but female-made and female-oriented; - the pair of main characters are a male mystical creature (tall, horned, feared by other people) and a cute human girl, the mystical creature takes care of the girl; - deal with fear of the otherness and relationships between different species; - magical setting, somewhat sad, have slice-of-lifey moments; - there're hints on danger for the heroine. The most prominent differences are: - Totsukuni no Shoujo has a caretaker-child relationship, Mahoutsukai no Yome is closer to romance; - Mahoutsukai no Yome is more episodic in structure (though with overarching goals), while Totsukuni no Shoujo is a delayed exposition with a mystery in it’s core; - Totsukuni no Shoujo is overall sadder, Mahoutsukai no Yome fluffier; - Totsukuni no Shoujo has smaller cast and is unlikely to develop a cast as big as Mahoutsukai no Yome; - the art is different: Mahoutsukai no Yome's more realistic, Totsukuni no Shoujo's more stylized.
